My phone number wrong in Settings

So I just rolled my Verizon number to my new iPhone after testing the iPhone for 30 days. In iTunes and on the iPhone, both display the old number, not the number that it currently is. Is there anyway to change this?

the number it displays will not affect the phone in anyway its just like a "comment/note" added to the sim card that itunes uses to display your phone number. If you have another GSM phone handy just switch out the sim card and change the Number in settings, cant do it with the iphone for some reason. or go down to att and have them do it.

  • What if I keyed my phone number wrong in iOS8 security set up?

I accidentally fat fingered my phone number during initial start up of the new iPhone OS, iOS8.  The data entry screen had something to do with security.  I'm not sure how it is supposed to work but I can't find anywhere to change this.   Can someone help me out or give me some advice?  Is there a way I can change it?

Are you referring to a passcode? If you forget your passcode and your device is then locked, then you'll permanently lose access to any and all of the data stored on your device that isn't synchronised with iCloud! I therefore strongly recommend you immediately create a backup of your device's data and then attempt to recall the passcode.

  • TS4185 Face time has my phone number wrong

    Hi
When I Login into FaceTime it has the wrong telephone number. How do I fix this?

There are no charges for FaceTime itself. All you would pay would be any data charges from your carrier that might apply. This of course assumes that the carrier supports using FaceTime over their service; not all do.
    Regards.

  • Facetime is showing wrong phone number

    Hi,
I got a new iphone a few months ago, and got my old number transferred over - but I have just noticed that when I look in the setting's - the number that can receive facetimes is the old number that came with the phone, not the new number that was moved over.
How can I change this so that I can receive FT's on my new number? It won't let me add another phone number to the settings as I already have my workphone attached to my apple id.
    Thanks!

My itunes is the latest one and the ohone OS is the latest one as well and the computer OS is vista 32bit so i believe there is nothing nothing wrong with the windows or any idea what might be the prob?
    cheers

    Hi,
My wife's phone does this as well.  It's because she deleted her phone number from the settings so "it wouldn't show" in case the phone was stolen, I guess.  I'm pretty sure if you put your number into the right place it will show up in iTunes.  On the phone, go into the "Settings" app, scroll down to "Phone" and select it.  The first thing you'll see is "My Number".  Select that and enter your number as "1 (xxx) xxx-xxxx".
Hope that does it for you!

  • How to locate my iPad's phone number

I bought a WiFi-3G iPad here in Australia when they first came out and promptly bought a 12-month data plan from Vodafone. This plan is nearing its renewal period now and I need the phone number to purchase an extension. Unfortunately, it's been so long that I can no longer find the packaging that the micro-sim card came with and so I don't know the phone number, which is required in order to purchase the renewal.
Where can I locate the phone number? Under Settings>General>About, there is a lot of useful information but for 'Cellular Data Number' is states 'Unknown'.

Hello guys I'm with the same problem trying to find out my sim card phone number on my iPad and neither of the suggestions above showed me the number. I'm I n Brazil
the only reason I'm searching for this info is that when trying to log in at the WAZE app it now asks for the cell phone number so they can send you a text message with a code to verify your account.  Before they would allow us to log in using our account user id
my iPhone works as it received the code via text message and I want to be logged on my iPad using th same account , just the way I used to on the previous WAZE versions

  • Using more than one phone number on single iPhone for iMessage?

Is it possible to intentionally have more than one phone number listed under Settings > Messages > Send & Receive?  I know I've heard of 'glitches' where more than one phone number is shown accidentally and how that is solved (signing out of iMessage and then back in), but if you want to intentionally have more than one phone number listed there (say, the phone number of your own device and also the phone number of your work-related iPhone), is there a method?  I'm leaning toward the answer of 'no', but I'm wanting to double check.

I'm not sure, but if you use the same Apple ID for both iphones and register both with messages, then you may be able to go to device one Settings>Messages>Send&Receive and select device twos number as well.
I thought about that. For some reason, I think that I've heard it doesn't work. Sadly, however, I don't have two iPhones with which to test it.

  • How do you change the phone number associated with apple id

I bought my wife an IPad 2 and when setting it up it said I could change the phone number later in settings.   Now when I get a text-- she gets a copy on her IPad.   I can't see where in settings to change this to her phone number.

The phone number associated with an Apple ID is changed here:
    https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/
Click on manage my Apple ID and sign in. Then go to your profile and make the necessary changes.
But your question is a little confusing. Controlling which device receives texts and Messages is done in Setstings
Settings > Messages > Send and Receive from
    Make the necessary changes there.

  • Imessage - change registered phone number

How do u change the registered phone number on iMessage on iPhone? It still shows old number even after a reset and the number is grayed out.

There are no registered phone numbers in iMessage on the iPad. I'll assume you must be talking about iPhone. So, try this (on iPhone):
Go to Settings > Phone > My Number and make sure it's your correct phone number. Then, Settings > Messages and turn iMessage off. Turn iPhone off (hold sleep/wake button until the red slider appears on screen, then slide it). Turn iPhone on. Go to Settings > Messages and turn iMessage back on.
    Did that help?

  • My phone was knocked about and now iMessages are received by my contacts from my email address and not my phone number. 1- Have imessages always been sent by my email address and i somehow over looked this? 2- if not how to change it back?

diesel vdub or ANY uncertified/certified Genius
Heres my problem. I dropped my iphone 4 s and now when I send an sms, if it goes as an imessage the recipient says its coming from my email address & not my phone number. 1- how can i change it back but also 2- is imessage usually sent from phone number and not email correct? Should I re-sync my phone? Additional info: iMessage says I can be reached for messages at 2 addresses, my phone and email, the email cannot be removed. PLEASE HELP IM OCD ABOUT MY PHONE AND THIS ISSUE IS DRIVING ME MAD!
    helplessandhopeful,

To identify your iMessages as coming from your phone number go to Settings>Messages>Receive At>Caller ID and select your phone number rather than your email address.  Also, the email can't be removed because this is the email address linked to the Apple ID you are using for iMessage.  If you really want to remove it you have to go to Settings>Messages>Receive At, tap the Apple ID at the top and sign out.

  • ITunes Summary Tab missing Phone Number info

I know that when I connect my iPhone 3G with iTunes, at the "summary" tab, right after name, capacity, sw/build versions and serial number/udid; there has to be another line where it shows my phone number, but I am missing that for some reason. Is there a way to turn it on? Thanks

Is your phone number entered at Settings > Phone > My Number?

  • All of my texts are now being sent through my email after the new update. How do I change this back to just sending with my phone number?

All of my texts are now being sent through my email after the new update. How do I change this back to just sending with my phone number?

Try settings -- messages -- send & recieve and see if your email and phone number are in there and if there is only a check mark next to your email address.  If so just check off your phone number and try that.
