My phone says ios 4. 2 is most current but ios 5.0 is what i need
I know about itunes but when I select update it states my ios version is current

You'll need iTunes 10.6 at the minimum, I believe, so if you have an earlier version of iTunes, you'll need to upgrade. iTunes 10.7 is the current release.

If you do not have a Software Update option present on your iDevice, then you are trying to upgrade to iOS 5 or higher. my phone says i have updates for my apps but when i open update screen it is blank? its driving me crazy
Close the App Store app, double click the home button, press and hold the App Store icon until it wiggles, press the X, open the App Store app again and you should see your updates.

Phone says there is a new text message but there is no blue dot next to any of the conversations, nor is there an unread message at the end of the conversation.

When my iPod Touch is connected to my Mac, and I select Update to update the software of my iPod Touch, I get a message saying that my iTunes software is current, but it will not update my iPod Touch software. Is there a bug in the iPod program?

The device is locked to Verizon wireless not a Russian cell provider.
You can use Verizon here in the states. Get a Verizon Sim.
In out of the country use, pop in that Sim and it should work. However Verizon does not unlock for use in the USA.
And you must be a Verizon customer to get it unlocked to use in other countries. Apple claims it will work in other countries.

I am trying to download the new 4.3 on a windows XP machine for my ipad. I have 10.2.1.1 iTunes, and it says that iOS 4.2 is the most current version.
Any tips for me to get 4.3 to download?

No, you need a different file. Look in the iPod touch forum; someone there may have posted the direct download link for the 3rd-gen iPod touch. Make sure you do indeed have a 3rd-gen iPod touch, though; many people have an 8GB iPod touch and think, due to dealer misidentification, that they have the 3rd-gen hardware which they do not.

ITunes update says 4.3.3 is most current software for my iPad (2) ??
Trying to update my iPad2 (Model A1396) through iTunes. When I go to the Summary tab it shows my current version is 4.3.3 but next to "check for updates" it says I am using the most recent software. I thought I would be able to update to iOS 5 on an iPad 2?
Since you have an iPad 2, you can use iTunes 10.6.3.

i bought a second hand iphone 3g last week and it wont let me get my apps cause it says that i need IOS 5. on my itunes it say that the IOs 4.2.1 is current and that no update is needed. i stil tried to download fb but it wont let me cause i dont have the IOS 5. please help me.
The Facebook app now requires iOS 5.0 or later. I believe that 4.2.1 was the last version that Apple released for the 3G. And with the rapid approach of the iPhone 5S and possibly 6 they are no longer supporting the 3G. I would not be surprised to see them stop offering support for the 3GS this time around.

Check the charging port. Sounds like there is some kind of debris in there that could be causing this. You can clean with a small toothpick or soft toothbrush.

Erase the phone via Find my Phone. This will only work if you had Find my Phone activated before you lost it.

Do you have a seperate AP providing your wireless or are you using the wireless built into the AT&T router? If seperate, you will need to re-configure the AP to the new equipment AT&T sent you.

Got a phishing TEXT to my phone from "ieappleoverstock.cc" saying I had won a MacBook! Came from a 161 number. How did they get my number? I discovered that many others got similar text to their phones from different numbers. What's going on? I live in Ireland. Is this international scam?? John
