My phone says searching and won't turn on

My phone has been saying searching all day and I know it is a hardware and antenna issue this happened before 6 months ago and I was able to restore my phone on my own when my carrier couldn't fix it. Now apple says they can't and I'm 3 weeks past my warranty I need to see if I can reset it using my computer and restore it back

I haven't needed to, but you can try the reload feature in Link, plug the phone into the USB, click on Blackberry, should see 'not connected to Blackberry' click on 'reload software', choose Z10, LED will turn green. Unfortunately you will lose all your data, Hopefully you have made a backup and your media is on a sd card.

Nothing you can do, sorry to say.  If it will not turn on there is absolutely nothing you can do now to backup what is on it.  The whole point of a backup is to have made it before disaster strikes.  Now, with a dead iPhone, all you can do is accept the loss of your data.
You will be able to re-download iTunes and App store purchases since they are tied to your AppleID, not your device.
Have you been using iCloud for backup?  If you have, then you should have a backup in iCLoud you can use to restore your replacement phone with.  iCloud backups are automatic (once every 24hrs, whenever your device is on wifi, plugged in and asleep).

my phone shut off and won't turn back on

Connect iPhone to Wall Charger for about 10 minutes. If may turn ON itself. If still OFF, keep on charger and Reset, hold both home and power buttons until the iPhone begins to start, this can take about 20 seconds of holding both buttons while on charger.

  • My phone recently crashed and won't turn back on.

My phone ( iPhone 5c, IOS 7.3 ) recently crashed and won't turn back on. I randomly looked at my phone and there were green and red horizontal lines flickering. My immediate thought was to try to turn it off, so i could try to turn it back on. I held the home and power button down and the screen went black. When i tried turning it back on ( holding power button ) there was no response. For the past day, my phone hasn't been responding to anything.

It most likely has a lot to do with your crash.
Placing your device into recovery (DFU-Device Firmware Upgrade) mode:
Follow these steps to place your iOS device into recovery mode. If your iOS device is already in recovery mode, you can proceed immediately to step 6.
       1. Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, but leave the
other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
       2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds
until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
                  * If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the
Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off,
release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
      3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the
device. The device should turn on. Note: If you see the battery charge warning,
let the device charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some
charge, and then start with step 2 again.
      4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen.
When this screen appears you can release the Home button:
      5. If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the following "recovery mode" alert:
      6. Use iTunes to restore the device.
If you don't see the "Connect to iTunes" screen, try these steps again. If you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen but the device does not appear in iTunes, see this article and its related links.
If this doesn't help, then make a Genius Appointment and take it in for service.
Note: When using recovery mode, you can only restore the device. All user content on the device will be erased, but if you had previously synced with iTunes on this computer, you can restore from a previous backup. See this article for more information.

  • HELP phone seems stuck and won't turn on or off

Hi....I JUST got this phone....Saturday the 21st.  I have been having issues where I have no internet unless I have wifi.  I don't have the little 3g or 4g symbol at all and anytime I try to get online I can't unless it's in wifi.  Admittedly I could have done something that caused that, but I have bigger problems at the moment.  I thought that maybe I could turn my phone off and then turn it back on again and maybe that would fix my 3g/4g issue, well NOW it turns on and says flashes DROID like it's going to start up, but that's all it does and it won't turn off or go completely on!  I'm thinking that I need to take it in and get a new phone, but maybe there's something I can do...any suggestions?  Thanks

    stoughie,
I'm sorry to hear that your phone is having data and power issues. That's never awesome! smashogre had a great tip, too. I hope it has worked for you. If not, I do recommend an alternative reset to return the phone to the factory settings. If after these steps, it still isn't functioning properly, please direct message me so I can assist you further.
    Thank you,

Plug iPhone into Wall Charger for 10 minutes, it may turn ON itself. If still nothing, keep on wall charger and Reset, hold both home and power buttons for about 20 seconds until the iPhone begins to start.

  • Phone shut off and won't turn back on. Help!

I have a Razr Maxx and today it turned off for no apparant reason. I tried to turn it on but nothing. I also tried resetting it by holding down the volume buttons and power button but also got absolutely nothing. Before it shut off I had almost a full battery. When I plug it into the wall outlet the led on the front flashes white and then the screen shows the motorolla logo. After that, it goes to the battery charging screen as if the battery were completely dead. It just sits there at zero percent forever. I tried turning it on after and hour and still nothing, tried a reset again and same result.
    Any thoughts?

I know how inconvenient it can be when the handset you rely upon will not respond seanbizz! If the reset procedure and connecting it to the charger did not resolve the issues, it is possible the device will need to be replaced. I have pressed all the buttons so far and have tried plugging it in to the computer. the computer didn't regerster that it was plugged in. i can't get any of the serial number to use the support and am at work with no access to my itunes or packaging. anyone know a way to get the phone to turn back on?

  • My iPhone lock button is broken..and now the phone is dead and won't turn on! Help!?

So the lock button on my iPhone 4 is broken, 100%, and the battery died earlier today, when I plug it in, it usually turns on if it has been dead...I tried doing this for hours and nothing happened, I plugged it into 3 different chargers thinking that might be the problem. And since there isn't a apple store close to me, I went to AT&T and they told me I need to do some type of restart (I forget what it's called) it is where you hold down the home and lock button at the same time, but as you can see that wont work since my lock button Is broken. Is there ANYTHING else I can do to fix it!?

Looks like a Visit to an Apple Store or AASP (Authorized Apple Service Provider) is the Next Step...
Be sure to make an appointment first...

  • For some reason my printer says "offline" and won't turn on at all. It is installed correctly but

Was gone on vacation and when got back, plugged the computer into the wall and everything on the computer works fine except the printer will not turn on.  Have reinstalled the printer and reinstalled several times and it keeps showing up as "offline".  Called HP and they would not help.  Please someone help me.  Printer has always worked perfectly for me until now.  Don't know what to do.

Thanks for the reply...  i tried, but nothing was able to work.  Took to Genius Bar this morning, they said the Hard Drive was the problem, couldn't be repaired

  • HT4623 I installed the latest update this morning and my phone turned off and won't turn back on.  Help!

My battery was fully charged.  The notice for an update came up so I told it to start.  Then the phone shut off and won't turn back on.  When I plug it back in, I can hear it "revving" but it still won't turn on.  Any ideas?

Did you already try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again? You will not lose data by resetting, but it can cure some glitches.
If this does not work, try to connect in recovery mode, explained here:
iOS: Unable to update or restore
