My phone seems to have lost its operating system
my son dropped his phone and now it wont turn on. when plugged in it just flashes the apple. computer doesnt register it either is there anything i can do ?
Hi In the control panel have a look a the half Moon is it set to do not Disturb. If that's ok do a Reboot press & hold power button & menu button hold both down until you see Apple Logo you will not lose any data. Then try a different Ringtone. Cheers Brian

My mac seems to have lost its stratup disk
I updated my mac yesterday and it would not reboot. I have run through disk utilities and verified the disk - subsequently repaired the vdisk and re-verified as OK. However the disk will not mount.
I have tried to use startup from the disk utility menu and there is no disk in the dialogue box to boot fromI think that I may have sorted it. Seems like it was the Bluetooth mouse that was faulty as I have now plugged the wired mouse back in and everything is working as normal.

I've just been hired in a new editing company where we are producing pictures in black and white to illustrate our book.
The previous person that was occupying this position could manage the pictures workflow through bridge using a script that was in the Tools menu and use to select several picture and send them to photoshop to apply and converting script (black and white convesion).
The problem I encounter on my session is that I can't send picture to this photoshop script using Bridge ... Can someone help me on this ?

If you used Sync to do that "import", disable Sync for at least one of those Profiles.

Thank you for your suggestion. I have Sync enabled for all the profiles. To my surprise, however, Sync was of no use in getting Default's extension collection into Shopping. For that I had to resort to the article http://kb.mozillazine.org/Transferring_data_to_a_new_profile_-_Firefox.
I will try disabling Sync on Shopping. -

I have just uploaded a new operating system (windows 8.1) on to my computer but seem to have lost my itunes library. Can this be restored? Can I plug in my ipod and syncronise so that my ipod library transfers to my computer Itunes account?

You should never update without making sure your backup copy of your computer is up to date.

I have just started using the i phone 5 and have lost the Safari icon it was there now its gone ! any ideas guys

You might have swiped it into another icon by error if you were moving things around. You can find these easily as they have a black background.
Also, to see if you rae running an active Safari, double click on your bottom button and all of the active applicatiosn will come up. You can scroll through these to see if Safari is running (and not lost).

My power button has stopped working - seems to have lost it's 'spring'. My phone is over a year old and out of warrenty - any options? It also seems to be going thru the battery in less than a day which was never the case. Are these two situations related?
I don't know if they are related or not, but I'd take it in to an Apple store. They might be gracious and offer to replace it, or at the least, it may be eligible for an out-of-warranty replacement at a reduced fee (currently $149.00 for the iPhone 4, 3Gs, 3G, and original - you get a refurb as replacement).

After having installed with Bootcamp windows 7 a couple years ago, upgrading to mavericks seems to have lost that capability despite windows being installed in its own partition. How can I get this back?
This was the scenario:
The first time I updated, it was only my music that was lost.
When I got my music back, I lost my apps.
When I got my apps back, my contacts, notes and photos were lost.
Now I got back everything except for my photos.
(Yes, I restored from backup several times since the first update.)
Do you think if I try restoring from back up, my photos that were taken from my ipod will be restored finally?

restore from your backup. IF you don't have a backup then your pics are gone.
If you import your pics to your PC - you can use itunes to sync it back to your phone. -
HELP I seem to have lost all my files after turning on Filevault

im completly new to all things Mac, everything has been great so far but now i seem to have lost everything.
I turned on Filevault protection then shutdown my Macbook, came back to it a couple of hours later and now all of my files, itunes music files have gone, all of the settings and preferences seem to be back to the factory settings, and well everything has dissapeared?!! any help would be greatly appreciated.

Clearly, your system is no longer mounting your sparseimage file the way it should. The good part of this is that your files are still relatively safe inside that sparseimage. I would not try to turn filevault on or off again. That could be dangerous. Your goal now is backup.
In the terminal, you can type "open /Users/.stuartcampbell/stuartcampbell.sparseimage" to mount that disk image as a new volume. Hopefully, you can log in as "stuart campbell" and do this. That would be really good. If you can, log in as "stuart campbell", open that disk image, and copy all the files you find into a new folder named "saved files" under the "/Users/Shared" folder. You want to get your files out of that sparseimage and into the real file system.
Once you get your files out, you can try to turn filevault off again. My hunch is that FileVault is already off. I think your system has created a new home directory for you named "stuart campbell1" because the old one was corrupted. If this is so, you can safely copy all your files from the sparse image into this new account, overwriting anything you already have. (Just make real sure that your current home directory really is just blank data!!!). At this point, you should be running again, with your home directory being named "stuart campbell1".
If all this is true, try the following. Rename that old "/Users/stuart campbell" folder to /Users/stuart campbell.old". You can run NetInfo, go into "Users", and change your home directory back to "stuart campbell". Then, before doing anything else, rename "stuart campbell1" back to "stuart campbell". Save your NetInfo changes, quit, logout, cross your fingers, and log back in.
I realize this is very complicated and more than you really want to do. I don't see any way around it. It is very difficult to know exactly what state your system is in and exactly what is going to work and what won't. A trip to the Apple Store or a similar place might be a good idea. I say might because there is no guarantee they can fix it either. There are still way too many steps that say "If this works" and "try this".
There are some key things to remember and do in any case. Try to open that disk image and get your files out.
Don't fiddle with any account security settings until your files are out of there.
Once your data is secure (or rather - in a safe place), you can feel free to fiddle with account settings and swap out those directories to get back to a good state. I can assure you that it will take a bit of fiddling and may not work at all. Just get your files out there and we can get you up to speed again after that. -
I bought an apple tv for its ability to mirror any of the content on my new ipad 3rd gen. Now after updating my apple tv i seem to have lost the ability to mirror my tablet onto the screen. Can somebody help with this. I have tried to do everything. I made sure both my apple tv and my ipad are connected to the same network. I also made shure my bluetooth was off. I can still airplay with my brothers iphone 4s. ( ios5.1) but i cannot do the same with my tablet.

You must be a newbie, because otherwise you would have fixed it. I don't have that mirroring problem and it must be because you are not looking around and inform yourself thoroughly. It took me also 2 days of grief before I found out how to do it. Not even to mention that the Apple Engineer that I called did not have a solution either and just suggested that I should send my Apple TV back or go to a Apple Store nearby.
I was pretty annoyed about that such a little black box was giving me grief. I have been working in the IT industry for over 30 years and I know quite a bit inside out about many hardware's. But my opinion is that sending out Version 6.0 Aka 5.1 as you rightfully say is not on with me.
This is the same behaviour that Apple now does as Microsoft forever is doing. Not finishing the products and putting it on the market or release it before it is finished and has bugs in it.
Personally this irks me and annoys me. Because I am in that field for many years and have seen what grief it causes. I have noticed that an Administrator has removed another post that I made about other matters concerning iPads and especially with iPad 3 and 4 now and that there are also other people who make inflamatory remarks to people ( Julian Wright for e.g.) about how they have to spend their money for the latest stuff of Apple and come over very aggressive, selfish, if not evil.
For your information, I used to work for Apple, I know Apple inside and how they work and what they used to do ? They were really nice for their employees and customers. But I think that has changed now for whatever reason they have. Very disappointing. It's up to Apple not to listen, I have no control of that, but it will cost them at some point.
Besides that point, I feel that some people are been taken for a ride and when I am expressing that this is not OK I should be rewarded for that instead of being rejected. -
Since the latest update it seems I have lost a feature. Well not completely lost it. But almost all of the emails I would get from all four of my accounts I could forward. Now I can't. Here's an example.
I would be able to receive from my home account to my phone but I could forawrd it using my personal account.
once you pressed forward you would pull down from the top of the email header and a drop down menu would appear and you can change it to whatever email provider you wanted to send it from.
Now since the newest update out of the last 100 emails. I can only do that to like 2. and some of the older emails still on my phone from before the update, they wont do it either when I know I have done it to them in the past.

I also have 4 email accounts on my phone, I've always forwarded emails from the account it was received.
Tested on numerous emails without finding a dropdown list, then with 2 identical emails received 2 minutes apart to 2 of my email accounts, 1 shows the dropdown list and the other does not. -
Seem to have lost my adobe print drivers
I recently had my mac os x 10.6.8 operating system reinstalled, now I seem to have lost my adobe print drivers - so can't select pages from indesign doc to transform to pdf file? Any suggestion please?
The AdobePDF printer would have been installed as part of the installationof Acrobat Pro. Did you reinstall that application after reinstalling the OS, and did youreinstall the same version of the OS? The PDF printer is not available in 10.7 and later.

I seem to have lost a folder containing important photos!!
I've seem to have lost a folder containing important photos yet still have my camera roll photos. How can I get these back? I haven't deleted anything, it may have happened when I synced my phone to the pc. My phone is always connected to wifi at home and therfore backs up on icloud. However I have other devices in the house linked to an itunes account but my phone is linked to a different one.
These photos have sentimental value and I would hate to lose them . Please help!!If those pictures were taken on that phone, creating or deleting folder will not remove those from camera roll, so check it.
If those were synced from pc - they are still in your pc's my pictures folder.
If those were synced from other pc, you need to find that other pc - same folder.
If those were emailed or imported from camera/sd card - they are still in camera roll.
Besides info above - if those pictures were in camera roll they may also be in iphone backup, that backup should be restorable or searched with use of multiple available on Google software programs. Those allow you to look in itunes backups. They also may still exist on the phone as not recognized by iphone files, until overwritten, there are programs for that as well. I can't recommend particulars, never used those.
