Have you tried to rename the backup file to a simpler one before backup proceeding?
Please also check if the backup disk is in NTFS format. If it's formatted in FAT32, the max file size can accept is 4GB - if your N95 have a fairly big volume over that 4GB limit, sometimes the phone will reboot.

You yourself said you work with an SLR camera, and if you look through the viewfinder, you see that the camera lens sees the view in a "square" ratio as well like the phone. Creating software to render a picture in 16:9 ratio is just simply creating software that cuts off the reception of light in the top and bottom part of the picture so as to create a 16:9 effect. Meaning the camera is not utilizing the full 3.2 megapixels of the phone, and the result is just the same as getting the picture you took and editing it on your PC to show a 16:9 ratio.

Problem with NOKIA 5800 Music Express

Hi all,
My NOKIA 5800 hasnt been working properly for some time. I can not make a call using my phone book (only if i dial the number i can call) though incoming call can be received. Apart from that, when i try to navigate tomy memory card, i cant anything rather than some less important files though i can find those floders when using via pc! Lots of other problems.
From this discussion (/t5/Phone-Applications/Antivirus-for-5800/m-p/426338) i find out that its not necessary to use antivirus if properly used. But the thing is, i let my mom and sister use this phone for like 6 months, there was internet connection. So, i am not sure whether they did something wrong which led to these problems. Before that everything was fine.
Help me guys! I am freaking out!

i agree with farby.. Do a soft/hard reset.. *#7370# code is 12345..
Note: virus cant infect ur device memory.. But it can infect ur memory card nd corrupt it.. So scan ur memory card wd antivirus on computer... If no virus is found and ur card is unreadable, format ur memory card.. Before formattin backup data as much possible..

Problem with Nokia 5800 Xpress Music

Hello. I have a Nokia 5800 Xpress Music for about a year now and been taking great care of it. I don't know why but a while ago it started freezing at times when i would try to turn on the camera..had to multiple times restart the phone and remove the battery in order to make it work (In the open applications menu it would show the camera running but you wouldn't be able to use it). Then i noticed that the two touch buttons it has in the main screen (dialing and phonebook shortcuts) wont work either, no matter how many times i press them nothing happens. Same goes for the Green and Red button on the left and the right side of the phone (Accept/Decline buttons), they won't work either when i'm on the main screen (wallpaper), they do work in the main menu though. I tried resetting my phone to manufacturer settings but nothing happened. What is wrong with my phone? Can anybody help me with it very please?

When you say restored "factory settings" I don't know whether you mean that you backed up essential data then keyed in *#7370# followed by 12345 (default Nokia lock code unless altered by yourself); I would remove any memory card first and see if any difference before restoring device.

I have nokia 5800 and i like it very much... But i have a problem with it ..... the problem that when i download any thing from nokia OVI Store from my mobile like: Games, apps and videos when download finished and starting to install the games or the apps it's say's: "installation failed" and when i redownload it again nothing change and keep saying "installation failed" ........ and i noted that when i install app ( themes, apps and games ) on my mobile by ovi suite or by file manager it also say's to me "Expired Certificat" even if i signed this apps but it alwyas say's "Expired Certificat"....... for this problem i did: hard reset - format my mobile - format my sd card - update my mobile to v40 - but the problem never stops to return in a few hours ..... then i find out that when i need to install any app on my mobile (by ovi suite or ovi store in my mobile or file manager) i have to switch off the mobile and turn it on again to install what ever i want ...... so Plz help me out
PS: 1- I have 2 friends having the same problem that i have and they did what i did

3. Select Yes to remove the memory card.
4. Press OK and remove memory card from phone.

7. Enter security code. Default is 12345 unless it has been changed.
8. The phone will reset, wait for this to complete and power back on.
9. Select your country and type in the correct time and date.
10. Wait for the phone to complete its configurations, you may receive "My Nokia" or tutorial messages.
11. Power off phone.
12. Insert the memory card.
13. Power on the phone.
14. Wait for the phone to install any pre-loaded content from the memory card.
15. Phone is ready to install applications, without "Expired Certificate" error message.

Which Battery Chargers to use on Nokia 5800?

OK, I of course realize the one it came with (AC-8U) is fine, but it has a high ouput like my old "rapid" charger. Both have 890mA.
I have some other nokia chargers that have the exact same size male plug, but are AC-3U and have an output of only 350mA. Both are DC5.0V.
My thinking is, since my 5800 is just about dead or is dead by the end of the day from heavy usage (I can hardly put it down! ) That maybe I should use the lower ouput chargers to do a slower charge. I have tried them already, and they do charge the phone to a "battery Full" state...
Anyone else have any advice on how to help the battery live as long as possible? I used to be a big believer in run it dead every time, but am starting to buy into the charge it whenever, even if only half full idea. Advice or research on this?
I also use the nokia car charger.... which I think is a DC-4 if I remember correctly.

"Run it dead every time" was valid for Nickel-based batteries (Ni-Cd and NiMH). Doing so with a Lithium-based battery such as the Li-Ion battery in your 5800 will shorten its life.
You need to charge the battery fully and deplete it fully a few times when it's new in order to make it reach its maximum capacity, but from then onwards you should keep the battery charged as much as possible.

Ovi maps problems with Nokia 5800 xpress music

Since Ovi updated the maps I've had trouble using it. I have version 40 firmware which was installed by Vodafone when my device expired. Despite the update, Ovi maps just crashes the phone when I try to use it. The screen goes blank and I get all coloured lines flashing down one side and the phone reluctantly restarts. Any advice please?

I am having exactly the same problem with my 5800 xpress music having updated to version 40.0.005.235.10 and installed the new version of OVI maps and the software Own Voice.
I have also tried reinstalling the sotware, restoring my phone to factory settings and resetting my phone by pressing the green, red and camera button whilst powering up. The problem persists. I will be making a call and within a few seconds of the call being connected the phone switches off and back on again. I also get the the coloured lines flasing on the screen.
Please Nokia Support, help us out.

Headset BH-800 compatible with Nokia 5800 Xpress M...

I had a Mr Handsfree Blue XS bluetooth headset with my previous phone, and now it appears it is not compatible with my Nokia 5800 (it pairs fine then disconnects after a few seconds, no matter what I do).
My firmware is 31.0.101.C04.01
I am considering buying a BH-800, but I'd like to be sure beforehand that it is indeed compatible with the 5800. Does anyone use it with this phone, or know for sure?
(What is the problem with the bluetooth on the Nokia 5800 anyway, I have tried to exchange files with my Sony-Ericsson and it worked fine, but failed miserabily when I tried with an Acer Liquid: it behaved as with my old bluetooth headset).
I have tested with a BH-105 in a shop, but I'd like to know which other models are compatible (maybe BH-102 too...?)

No it is a common problem recently bought a BH-101 for my Nokia 6220 and everyone i spoke to on my phone complained of the echo. I took the BD-101 back and received a free replacement but it still echo'ed.

yes, i can confirm the usage of the new bluetooth aluminium keyboard in conjunction with my nokia n95 via the 'wireless keyboard' -application which is located in the office-folder of the n95.

Have anyone came across this problem? I have 2 of those headset and I tried both in my W510. When I played any music source, the sound is so diffused like as if it works like a surround speaker that only produce presence sound. To get the vocal, I have to shift the Balance to the extreme left or right. First time encounter such problems. However, other headset work fine with my W510.

did you update your phone to the latest firmware for your phone currently it is v30......but it just got released so it may not be avaliable for all product codes just yet. also is your phone unbranded./unlocked if that is the case then you have a better change of updating than with a provider.

Problem sync with Nokia 5800

I can not sync contacts and notes between my PC and Nokia 5800. It won't work - iu said nokia must be in "idle mode" - what it means ?

Thanks for the tip regarding email / calendar conflics cricfancy, it worked for me. Once i removed them i could sync the rest again. I then switched to overwrite the phone after enabling calender and email sync again to bring the PC and phone into 100% sync before re-enabling sync in both directions

Is it possible for inventory purposes to compile a report of all the phones that have been connected to the system with PC Suite installed? I have a separate spreadsheet now for this, but it would be much easier with less room for error if it could be created from within the application.

What firmware version is your 5800XM running, key in *#0000# on dialler, have you just updated?
If you go to Menu > Settings > Application mgr. > Installation sett. - is Software installation = All and Online certificate check = Off?
