My phone was disabled. How do I enable it?

My phone was disabled. How do I enable it?

If the iPhone is showing a disabled message because of too many failed passcodes then you will need to connect it to the computer that you normally sync to and you should then be able to reset the phone and re-sync your content to it (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212) - you may need to put the iPhone into recovery mode : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808

    I can see it, but i can't use it, because it was disabled, how to enable it?
    Thank you!

    No can do, kemosabe. The password would be a pretty worthless security measure if it were that easy to remove or change while maintaining the integrity of the phone's data.
    If you're OK with completely wiping the phone, you can do this:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1212
    If you want to keep the data on the phone, you're going to have to wait until you get back home to your own computer.

    Yes it does. Also, if you were using iOS 7+ and had Find my iPhone activated, you will need your apple id and password to be able to use the phone again.

    My I-phone 3 has become disabled, how do I enable it?

    Hello Sandy,
    Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. To get an iPhone out of being disabled, then the next step would be to restore the iPhone. The following article will assist with that process.
    iOS: Forgotten passcode or device disabled after entering wrong passcode
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212
    Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
    Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
    While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
    Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button.
    iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
    Regards,
    -Norm G.

    My phone keeps telling me my AppleID is disabled, how do I enable it?

    For get what the artical says, you need to have your account re-enabled by itunes. It is locked for a non-payment or a dispute over a chage.
    They will lock your account for a refund of 1$
    It happens all the time, its a quick fix, but you have to call apple care.

    You can't. If your phone is disabled, the data has already been erased...that's the whole point of the passcode. Your only option now is:
    Turn your phone off, then force it into recovery mode & restore it:
    Leave the USB cable connected to your computer, but NOT your phone, iTunes running, press & hold the home button while connecting the USB cable to your dock connector, continue holding the home button until you see “Connect to iTunes” on the screen. You may now release the home button. iTunes should now display that it has detected your phone in recovery mode, if not quit and reopen iTunes. If you still don’t see the recovery message repeat these steps again. iTunes will give you the option to restore from a backup or set up as new.

    My phone was stolen how do I find it?

    If you enabled Find My iPhone on it before it was lost and it is connected to the internet, you can try to track it on icloud.com as explained here: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mmfc0f2442.  If you didn't enable Find My iPhone on it before it was lost, there is no way to track it.

  • HT4946 if my phone is disabled, how can I restore to get rid of a passcode

    If my phone is disabled, how can I restore to get rid of a passcode that was entered by mistake.

    Options for when an iOS device gets locked because of forgotten password:
    Restore (and reset password) on your device by connecting it to the last computer to which it was connected:
    iTunes: Backing up, updating, and restoring iOS software - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
    If you cannot connect it to the computer to which the device was last connected you will have to use recovery mode to completely reset the device, losing all data:
    iOS: Unable to update or restore - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808 - recovery mode (e.g., cannot connect to computer last used to sync device, iTunes still asks for a password)

  • Iphone disabled how to re enable

    i lost my iphone about 2 weeks ago and then some one returned it to me. But the phone was Disabled and it says connect to itunes to enable. When i connected my phone to itunes it said Itunes cannot connect to i phone because it is locked with a passcode but my phone wont let me enter the lock code and i would prefer not to reset the phone if possible because there are many photos that are irreplaceable

    If you have tried a reset, which does NOT erase anything, then restore is your next option.
    Reset is covered in the basics section of the manual:
    http://manuals.info.apple.com/enUS/iphone_userguide.pdf
    My guess is that you will have to restore.

    You may have to do this several times.
    Saw this solution on another post about an iPad in a school environment. Might work on your iPad so you won't lose everything.

    ‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
    Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
    I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
    Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just canceling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
    If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.
     Cheers, Tom
    my phone is disabled how do i fix it?
    If its disabled from entering the wrong passcode too many times, you have to restore it to remove the passcode, as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212.  If you are using iOS 7 with Find My iPone enabled, you will have to force it into recovery mode in order to restore it, as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808.
