My phone wont connect to itunes

i rescently bought a macbook air and everytime i try to connect my phone to it, it connects and disconnects rapidly. please help!

Take your new Air and all cables, charger, that came with it alone with your phone and all cables that came with it into an Apple store and have them sort it out. There have been many reports of flakey iPhone cables that do funny things to Mac computer when the phone is connected. Even shutting the Mac down in a way that it can't be restarted.

They will be gone from the iphone, but you should be syning all contacts to your computer regularly and should be importing all pics to your computer regularly, particularly before any update.
Have you failed to do this?

    Hey ebe301,
Sorry to hear about your troubles with your PC. If you are not seeing your iPhone on your computer, then take a look at the link below to walk you through getting that working again. It will have you verify that drivers are installed and working as well as any third party software that may be causing conflicts.

  • Out of options. Iphone wont connect to Itunes

The phone wont connect to itunes.
Ive tried restarting the phone, reinstalling iTunes, restarting my computer and phone. I just don't know what to due. Ive even tried connecting to a different computer.
The phone will start up and act normal, except there is now no service for some reason?

Has it ever worked with this computer and operating system? If it hasn't try updating the BIOS on the computer. There is a USB driver problem in Windows 7 and computers that have Intel p55 and pm55 chipsets. If it has worked in the past try these tips: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1495

  • My phone wont connect to my itunes after i tried to restore it and it failed. what should i do?

Ive been up all night trying to fix my phone. i recently tried to restore my phone so i could start it out fresh. i left for a minute while it was restoring and came back to have a message on my laptop saying it failed to restore. My iphone now wont connect to itunes nor my computer since it doesn't show up under "computer". i have already reinstalled itunes, shut off my phone and laptop, and manually tried to reset phone by holding home button and lock screen button. i really need some assitance quick, and their support guides confuse me and misleads me a lot. Help greatly appreciate

    Try this:
    1. Close iTunes.
    2. Connect your iPhone to your computer and then launch iTunes.
    3. Turn your iPhone off (hold down the power button at the top of the iPhone).
    4. Then, hold down the sleep/wake button and home button together for EXACTLY 10 SECONDS, then release the sleep/wake button.
    5. Continue to hold down the Home button until a message appears in iTunes telling you an iPhone in recover mode has been detected. When you are in DFU mode your iPhone screen will be completely black. Remember that if you see the restore logo, iTunes logo, or any message on the iPhone screen, you are not in DFU mode but standard Recovery Mode.
    6. Hit the OK message that should popup to restore your phone. Restore as "New".

You will have to put your phone into recovery mode and restore the phone as new. Since you don't have a back up, you will lose all the data on your phone but you will be able to use it again.
Use this article iOS: Forgotten passcode or device disabled after entering wrong passcode

  • I downloaded ios7 after being asked to restore. But now my phone wont connect to the activation server and is asking to restore again but I cant because itunes does not show any of my phone information

I downloaded ios7 after being asked to restore. But now my phone wont connect to the activation server and is asking to restore again but I cant because itunes does not show any of my phone information (it just shows a blank white screen with "iphone" in the centre".

I imagine a ton of people are attempting to activate after the update, and the server is getting overloaded. Simple patience, maybe keep trying, and if possible, try a little later. Think of it as all those people lining up at Apple Stores + about a million more.

  • Iphone gone into recovery mode and wont connect to itunes or allow me to turn it on

i tried to downlaod the new software and now phone has gone into recovery but wont connect to itunes or allow me to turn phone back on

    Hey Justinrulz108,
Thanks for the question, and welcome to Apple Support Communities.
Your issue sounds similar to the device not being recognized in iTunes while in recovery mode. It may be good to attempt the troubleshooting in the following article:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538
Refer to Step 5 "Verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed" and the sub-section titled "If the device is not recognized while in Recovery Mode". Here is an excerpt to get you started (see article for full information, including important additional steps):
Your device may not be recognized while in recovery mode. This can happen during an update or restore of your device. Typically when your device is in recovery mode, it will show the "Connect to iTunes" logo on its display. If iTunes does not recognize the device when in this state, try the following:
    1. Open the Device Manager:
Windows XP: Click Start > Run. In the resulting dialog, type devmgmt.msc and press Return.
Windows Vista or Windows 7: Click Start. In the dialog, type devmgmt.msc and press Return on the keyboard. If Windows needs your permission to continue, click "Continue".
Windows 8: Move the cursor to the upper right corner, click the magnifying glass, type devmgmt.msc, and press Return.
    2. Click the plus ( + ) icon (Windows XP and Vista) or the disclosure triangle () (for Windows 7 and 8) next to Imaging Devices, Other Devices, Portable Devices, and Universal Serial Bus Controllers to expand these sections.
    3. Check these sections for one or more entries called Apple Mobile Device (Recovery Mode). These entries may or may not have exclamation marks on them similar to the following:
    [continue with steps]
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

hi I recently dropped my ipod touch and now it wont connect to itunes. Everytime i plug it in, i get an error message saying that the usb device is not recognized

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
