My photo booth application disappeared!

Hi
I had my imac for about a year and photo booth has been fine up until recently. I recently tried to open my photo booth and I couldn't find the application! I tried searching for it in spotlight and the application didn't show up. The photos are still there but not the application. What do I do? Is it possible that I accidently deleted the app?
THANKS!
Jenny

If Photo Booth isn't located in the Applications folder, reinstall it from your computer's original disks, and then reinstall any applicable Front Row updates. You may need to use Pacifist to extract it.

    photo booth application disappear

    Hello,
Did it disappear just from the Dock maybe? Open the Applications folder & if there drag it to the Dock.
Otherwise, Could be many things, we should start with this...
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at the top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    5. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)

  • How to customise the backdrop in photo booth application?

how to customise the backdrop in photo booth application?

If you’re using Photo Booth in full screen, move the pointer to the top of the screen, then click the Exit Full Screen button.
If you’re viewing a photo or a video, click the View Video Preview button.
    Click the Effects button.
Browse through the backdrops until you reach User Backdrops.
Drag a photo or video to one of the User Backdrop frames. You can drag a picture or video from your desktop, the Finder, iMovie, iPhoto, or Safari.

  • Photo Booth window disappeared

Thought this would be the best place to ask this, but my Photo Booth window will not load up.
Is there a preference plist I can delete, or a way to reset the app?

    HI David,
    Try deleting this file. com.apple.PhotoBooth.plist
/Users/YourName/Library/Preferences. Drag that file from the Preferences folder to the Trash, empty the Trash and restart your Mac.
If that doesn't work, you could reinstall the PhotoBooth application.
To reinstall applications that came with your Mac:
Choose Apple menu > Mac OS X Software, and search for the application.
Insert the Mac OS X Install Disc and double-click the package that installs bundled software or additional software. A package has an icon that looks like an opened box.
Follow the onscreen instructions. If you see a pane with a Customize button, click Customize and select the application you want to install. If you see a pane that lets you choose what to install, click the disclosure triangle beside Applications and select the application you want to install.
If you can’t find the application you’re looking for, you may need to reinstall Mac OS X. Your documents and user settings will remain.
Insert the Mac OS X Install Disc and double-click the Install Mac OS X icon. In the pane where you select the destination disk, select your current Mac OS X disk, and click Options. Select “Archive and Install” and “Preserve Users and Network Settings.”

  • Installing a Google Apps mail account as an Exchange cause Camera FaceTime and Photo Booth to disappear from the Deskotp and are not retrievable. A deletion of the mail account returns the functions immediately

Brand ne iPad 3. Installing a Google Apps mail account as Exchange kills my Camera, Face Time and Photo Booth. They disappear from the Desktop and are nowhere to find or retrieve. Deleting the mail accoun t brings them back immediately. I have already full reset the device and updated the software with no result.
    Is there a solution?

Yep, Meg, you were right and here are the steps which cure the issue. Disable camera is actually a basic Google Apps setting .
Log in to your Google Apps Control Panel.
    Click on your 'Settings' tab.
Under the 'Org Settings' tab locate 'Mobile Settings/Device Settings'
    Enable 'Allow camera'.
    Save changes.
    Re-Install Google Apps E-mail account
    It works perfectly fine now.
Footy, my cat, sends you nice regards as well.

  • Camera and photo booth is disappeared

Camera and photo booth is disappeared

These are both native apps that came with the ipad and cannot be deleted.  Check in settings/general/restrictions to make sure they have not been disabled.  Check in folders or on another screen.  If you cannot find them then go to settings/general/reset and reset home screen layout

  • Photo Booth effects disappeared

Just got a new hard drive installed on my MacBook and passed it down to my sister. She launched Photo Booth and some of the effects I had before are missing. I'd never installed additional effects and the same OS is running. Where did they go and how do I get them back?

If you can find it via the spotlight search screen then it's still on there somewhere and it also means that it's not hidden via restrictions. You've checked all your homescreens and app folders for it, and how many homescreens have you got - there is a maximum of 11 after which apps are only accessible via the search screen (though you can use app folders to make more apps 'visible').
You could try Settings > General > Reset > Reset Home Screen Layout which will re-arrange your apps and might make it easier to find.

  • I can't access my Photo Booth application,

The only way for me to access my camera at all is if I go onto Skype- How do i get my PhotoBooth back? The MBP says its disabled or has never been installed- I don't have access to the given CD's given during purchase.

Thank you for trying to assist, but I got so frustrated I took my IPad to the Apple Store.  The solution was so simple I felt so stupid.  Now I know what to do if it happens again.  All I needed to do was give permission.  Thanks again.

  • Photo-booth disappeared on one of our MacBook's accounts.

    Hello
My little sister and i share a MacBook and her photo-booth randomly disappeared while mine is still present. Why did this happen? And can we get her photo-booth back?
    thanks a lot,
    jordan smith

is the photo boot disappeared in her dock or her applications??
you can remove anything from the dock with out the program being deleted.. its just like deleting a shortcut.
So go to your HD, applications... go to photo booth... double click and when it turns on go over to the icon in the dock and click hold then select add to dock...
    Cheers

  • Applying Photo Booth effects to photos taken in another application?

Is it possible to apply the Photo Booth effects to photos that were taken outside of the Photo Booth application? For example, I have some shots in my iPhoto library that I'd love to apply one of the Photo Booth effects to. I can't see an option for doing this in the Photo Booth menus or help section.

I do not have a new iMac G5 (iSight), so I do not have Photo Booth either. However, looking at Apple's new iMac pages and the Photo Booth 1.0 Help info leads me to believe that Photo Booth is an application for making snapshots rather than for editing existing images.
Check Photo Booth > Help on your iMac. If it does not tell you about editing existing images, you likely cannot do so.
Depending upon your experience level, image editor apps like PhotoShop or PhotoShop Elements can add the effects to your existing photos. Adding effects to existing images will require some effort, but it can be done. Unless your version of iPhoto is one of the very early ones, you can even set your iPhoto > General preferences to open your existing iPhoto images in your image editor app for easy access and editing from within iPhoto.
Because Photo Booth is only available with the iMac G5 (iSight) computer, you may find more help from Photo Booth users in iMac Discussions.

  • Photo Booth icon is there, but application will not operate

I just recently had to delete my hard drive, and when I reinstalled the software, my Photo Booth application wouldn't work. This computer has been to the retail store for video problems and is now home, but the Photo Booth is not working. In fact, I cannot even determine if the camera is working. Help!!!

    Welcome to Discussions, Amy Freeland
I suggest you take your iMac back to the store and ask them to finish the repairs. Be sure to ask them to show you a demonstration that the camera works before you take it home the second time.
If you want to try to fix it yourself before you take it back, try the relevant suggestions here:

Those suggestions will help you determine whether your camera works in any user account with iChat, iMovie, Photo Booth, or some of the other Applications You Can Use With iSight.

  • Lost my Photo Booth icon

Not only has the photo booth icon disappeared, but I cannot even locate it in Applications to drag it back.I seems to have completely gone somewhere.
Any idea what I can do please?

do a spotlight search for it. you may have moved it somewhere. if you can't find it you can restore it from a backup if you've got one. if not you can pull Photo Booth off the leopard install dvd using Pacifist
    http://www.charlessoft.com/
reinstall 10.5.8 combo update after that to bring it to its current version.

  • Web cam is very sluggish with Photo Booth

    Hi,
I'm on the new 24", 2.4 Ghz iMac and most everything works consistently and well, but I'm getting concerned about the internal Webcam.
From time to time I go into Photo Booth just to check things out. More than once, I have gotten a green screen with no Webcam working. And last time, I even had a green screen and the camera/Webcam green light was on at the top of the iMac. I tried taking a photo and I got a green square (surprise!).
Usually, if I quit the photo booth application and restart it, eventually the Webcam will come on and I can see myself etc.
But I worry that this is a possible defect. What if down the road I need this Webcam and ooops! too late to claim any warranty.
Has anyone else had this problem?
    Many Thanks, Frank B.

Hi, ah the green screen issue! from what I remember a few pepe's had this issue with the white iMac c2d.. From memory-Repair Permissions & Reboot. If that fails do the SMC reset thing. A great addition to the iSight App is iGlasses ->http://www.ecamm.com/mac/iglasses/settings.html ....L
