My Photo Folder

When I connect my Iphone to my laptop and it scincs up I get an error message that the phone can't find the My Photo Folder. I believe I deleated the folder some time ago. How do I get the phone to reconize the photo destination folder it is looking for?

The path I believe is correct "D:\My Documents\Pictures", regarding the permissions, I'm not that technical, I'll have to check with someone that can explain what, were and who. Thanks

  • Importing a photo folder just with references creates a photo library 2/3 of its size. crazy!

after ignoring iphoto for many reasons over the last years i thought i give it a try with the new photo app.
i imported a 70gb photo folder - turning OFF to copy it into the library first, just refering to them - and now it ate up all my space by creating a 41gb (!!!) photo library just with references alone. so now i have a 70gb folder plus an index file that is 41gb big. i am beyond baffled.
am i doing something wrong here or are they crazy?
they cannot possibly think this is a smart way to store photos with the small internal hard drives they give us nowadays can they?

it gets even worse. "photos" has created empty subfolders of almost every photo in my original photo folder.
    thank you apple. good job.

Whenever I try to open iPhoto, a message comes up saying that 148 photos have been found in the iPhoto Library that have not been imported. It asks me if I want to import them and I say NO but then it places them in a recovered photo folder. I keep deleting the empty recovered photo files but it just keeps asking me every time I go to open iPhoto! I'd love to just get rid of the "found" photos (I can't open them anyway!)
How do I get rid of them so that I can just open iPhoto straight up without this?
    Linda

Open your iPhoto Library package with the Finder.
look for a folder titled Import or Importing and move it to the Desktop. Launch iPhoto to see if the message goes away.  If there is no message  check the contents of the Import folder to see if you want to keep any of those image files (usually they have not been imported into iPhoto). If you want to keep them then drag the folder into the open iPhoto window to import.

  • Can not sync more than one photo folder to my phone. lost all photos???

Can not sync more than one photo folder at a time from my computer to mu iPhone. How do I get the drop down box to choose my photos, so I can manually pick photo folders???? Lost all my photo folders on phone.

Create a parent folder on your computer to contain the folders of photos you want transferred to your iPhone. Select the parent folder under the Photos tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes. To add an additional folder of photos to your iPhone, place the folder of photos in the parent folder followed by a sync.

I would like to put my i-pad photo albums into alphabetical order.  The advice received previously was to "right click" on an album in the left pane.   I do not have a left pane in my photos folder, how would I get this?   Also I only have touch screen so what would I "right click" with? thank you

I don't have iPhoto on my iPad, so I can't help with that, but you must have looked at advice for a Mac computer? Maybe browse the iPhoto for iOS forum?

  • How do I add a 'photo folder' to my itunes account so that I can transfer photos from my computer to my ipad?

I'm trying to get photos transfered from my computer to my Ipad. My Itunes does not have a 'Photo' folder to place my photos.  I can find everything but a 'Photo' folder (Movies, Podcasts, IUniv, Books etc).  Any thoughts?

    9850,
you can do it by creating sub-folders within the folder that is selected to be synced.
e.g.  Folder "Photo" has been selected to be synced to your iPad.
Create two sub-folders e.g. "Family" and "Vacation" within "Photo" folder and put photos in both sub-folders instead of "Photo" folder.
Now sync your photos and in photo's tab, after you have selected "Photo" folder to be synced, make sure you select all Folders as example below:
Once completed you will find both folders "Family" and "Vacations" are in your iPad's album including Camera Roll.  e.g. below:

  • How can I delete a photo folder from my iphone 4s?

how can I delete a photo folder from my iphone 4s?

    Hey Ravengirlaa,
Great question! The answer is going to depend on how the photos were originally organized:
    A) The albums were synced to your iPhone from iTunes
    B) The albums were manually created on your iPhone from photos in the Camera Roll
The following excerpt would apply for situation B:
excerpt from page 71 of the iPhone User Guide - http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf
If the photos were synced from your computer, please refer to this article (section "To delete photos and videos from your device"):

  • Can I restore a single photo/photo folder from Time Machine/Time Capsule

    Hi
So I'm usuing Time Machine to back up my MacBook to Airport Time Capsule.
If I somehow lost a couple of photos and its taken a few months to realise, can I retrieve just these photos/photo folder or do I need to restore my whole photo library going back to a past date - and then how can I be sure which date to restore back to - is there anyway of actually viewing the photos for a certain date before restoring?
And if the only way is to restore the whole library, what happens to any new photos that were added to the library between present day and the date I would be restoring back too?
Would it be better to move my photos from the app Iphoto to a documents folder for future use?  This is assuming that in a documents folder you can view and just retrieve a single document...  Havent tried it yet but that was my understanding...
    Hope this makes sense
    Many thanks in advance

Learn from Pondini, who knew more about Time Machine than anyone.

See the green box for links for iPhoto instructions according to the version that you might have.
Would it be better to move my photos from the app Iphoto to a documents folder for future use?
No. Even if you did this, you would not be able to retrieve individual photos since iPhoto is a special type of package file.

  • I'm getting the error message "Photos folder syncing has been disabled for the iPhone my iPhone because the folder "Pictures" cannot be found."

I'm getting the error message "Photos folder syncing has been disabled for the iPhone <my iPhone> because the folder "Pictures" cannot be found." lately.
Normally, all I do with photos is move them from my iPhone to my computer's (Windows 7) hard drive. I do this by connecting the iPhone with the cable, a box pops up on the screen asking me what I want to do, and I choose "Import pictures and videos". I've previously selected the "delete photos from the device after move" option (or however it's worded...), simply because I don't want this device to fill up with photos.
Lately, it has been importing the photos fine, but it won't delete them from the iPhone. This used to work just fine, now it doesn't work and I don't know what changed, if anything. In iTunes, I get the error message I list at the beginning of this message.
    How do I fix this?

    Hi there scarbo59,
You mentioned that you are still able to import without issues, but you may still want to run through the troubleshooting steps outlined in the article below.

  • Duplicates in the all photos folder...

In the new photos app for all devices, when I move a photo from the all photos album to a designated folder, there is still a copy of that photo in the all photos album.  This annoyed me in the past.....  Can I change this with the new app??  Can I move a photo to a album and there is only that copy, or will there always be a copy in one huge all photos folder?

No - you can not move a photo at all
Photos (like iPhoto) uses a library and albums are just one way to view the photos in the library - there are not multiple copies and you do not move them - you are just adding a link to an album so you can view them from there

  • How do I import photos from my ipad that are not in the saved photos folder

I do have a saved photos album and was able to import those. However, I have several other folders and I can't figure out how to get the photos from my iPad to my new iMac. Or for that matter, into the saved photos folder. This is my first experience with iPhoto. Any help? Thanks!

If you want to remove all of your synced photos .....
Connect your iPad to your computer and launch iTunes.
Select your iPad under the devices tab in the upper right or in the left sidebar, if you have the sidebar enabled.
Click on Photos at the top of the iTunes window on the right.
Uncheck the "Sync Photos From" heading
Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes.
IF that doesn't work, create an empty folder on your desktop and call it "Empty Folder". Select that folder in the "Sync Photos From" heading in the photos tab of iTunes and then click on Apply. That will also remove all synced photos.

  • HT201302 How to transfer a photo folder from iPhone 5 to Windows XP computer?

    Hi,
I created a folder on my iPhone, and now would like to transfer this folder to my Windows XP computer.  Is there an easy way to do this?
    Thank you for reading.
    Stefan

When you are trying to import photos from your iPhone to the computer, it will only import photos from the Camera Roll.
If you created an album on the iPhone, this album won't sync over (the photos may be from the Camera Roll and those pictures will transfer over, but it won't be in the albums you created).
Also if you synced a photo folder to the iPhone from a computer, this will not sync over back to a computer.
    From http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083 :
You can import only photo and video content taken with the built-in camera or captured on the device. You cannot import photo or video content synced from iTunes.

  • I have selected to have photos in my icloud but the photo folder does not appear.

I have selected to have photos in my icloud but the photo folder does not appear in icloud. There are many folders, like mail, but none for photos.

You can see photo stream photos on icloud.com.  You can only see them on an iOS device or computer that is signed into your account with photo stream enabled.  If you want to see them on the web, you would have to add the photos to a shared stream using the public website option enabled (see http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mmc0cd7e99).  This gives you a private url allowing you to view them from any computer browser.

  • File sharing - unable to copy photo folder

    Hi!
I'm using File Sharing to connect my iMac to my mother's iMac.
I'm trying to copy a folder called "Mom Photos" (sub-folder of the main Pictures folder) to my computer. I created a user name and password on her iMac that I use to login from my iMac. Once logged in, when I click on the "Mom Photos" folder and try to copy and paste it on my computer, I see the following error message: "The items on the Clipboard can't be pasted to this location. One or more of the items may have been deleted or are no longer available."
When I created my user name on her iMac, I set the privileges to "Read and Write."
If I open the "Mom Photos" folder and select all the individual sub-folders within, copy and paste them to a folder on my iMac, I see the following message: "One or more items can't be copied to "Pictures" because you don't have permission to read them, Do you want to copy the items you are allowed to read?"
    Thank you for any help!

Not being able to copy the folder itself would suggest that it has some other file, probably hidden, that is stopping the procedure. You could go up one level and perform the same action, but if this next level up is the Pictures folder then it might be best not to do this as the iPhoto library is also included within the Pictures folder.
One possible workaround would be to create yet another folder within the Pictures folder and then copy the "Mom Photos" folder inside this. Then when you do the Apply to Enclosed Items for this new folder, the "Mom's Photos" folder should now be available to copy.
If this still doesn't help then there is a Terminal command called change mode (chmod) that can be used to change the permissions on this folder. This would require to be on your mums iMac and to use her account, as you will need to authenticate to complete the task. It would be best if you can complete the operation without using Terminal but if using the GUI doesn't succeed then Terminal may be your next best option.
