My iphoto library has been stuck in an upgrade for four days! I can't minimize or quit. The message said it would take an hour or more to complete. Four Days!

    After reading your post, it sounds like you are experiencing an issue with photo syncing. You may want to consider restarting the device first, and then resetting if that does not work. This article provides detailed instructions for Restarting, and Reseting:

    How to restart
    Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears.
    Drag the slider to turn your device completely off.
    After the device turns off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.
    How to reset
    You should reset your device as a last resort and only if you can't restart it.
    To reset, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

One of them has had the spinning ball going for several days and I cannot receive mail in this account or delete messages etc. For some  reason, I CAN send mail on Apple mail using this account, although it takes several minutes. I can receive mail in this account on my iPad and by signing into aol on safari and internet explorer on my office PC. It's obviously a glitch in Apple's Mail. I've deleted this account and reopened it in Mail on my Mac Pro with no difference. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, this E amil account is major to my business.

    sounds like a corrupt database or index
    the glitch is your home folder and mail folder, esp look at syncservices
    I'd post in the mail or Lion forum where you will find similar issues being discussed.

  • Iphone 6 been restoring from icloud backup for 9 days and still not finished?

    I got my iPhone 6 on the 19th when it came out.  It's an ATT 128 gb model.  I started restoring from icloud backup on that Friday (9 days ago).  It still is saying it's restoring from backup. Daily it's asking me to delete the data or keep downloading.  This phone is for my business, so the info is very important.  I am also worried that all the things in the last week have yet to be backed up since then, because I can't back it up till the restore is complete. I also can't do the new software update 8.0.2.  I am on a fast WIFI nearly 18+ hours a day and I can surf the net just fine, but why is my restore from 9 days ago still not finished?

    This needs to get improved. I had the exact same issue migrating my 5 and wife's 5S previously. It's never worked well. We need status bars, and indications of what has been copied, what remains to be copied, and ways to resume it and pause it without hoping it works and getting messages in the morning asking if you want to resume it, making you wonder if anything actually occurred overnight. The message doesn't pop up within 10 minutes of connecting to power and wi-fi so I have no idea how long it actually takes to come up.
    It's unacceptable to think any device owner wants to roll the dice and hope they have all their data. We use these devices for our jobs and that data is critical for some of us. It's not all just pictures of the dog! Even though those are critical, too!! It would be different if this wasn't a known issue and the resolution wasn't so easy...get this fixed!!!

  • Firefox won't open at all, and when I try to use the 'run' feature, it says the file has been moved, etc. I use Windows 8 and I can not lose my bookmarks. Help?

    Firefox has been working great on my computer for months, and then all the sudden it wouldn't load any pages. So naturally I restarted my computer, but when it restarted Firefox wouldn't open at all. The icon glows for a bit like normal, then it fades and never actually opens. When I try to use the 'run' command, I get this error:
    "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\ refers to a location that is unavailable. It could be on a hard drive on this computer, or on a network. Check to make sure that the disk is properly inserted, or that you are connected to the Internet or your network, and then try again. If it still cannot be located, the information might have been moved to a different location."
    I also tried the same for the file in the x86 folder but it gave the same error, and I went and looked for the files in the location given and they were there.
    Firefox didn't crash, so there aren't any other error messages I can give you.
    The things I had bookmarked are really important, I can not lose those, but other than that I'm fine with anything else needing to re-installed, etc.
    Help please?

    Unless you're talking about the entire Mozilla Firefox folder (which isn't what the thing you copied says,) there is no installation folder.

    Could be many things, we should start with this...

    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."

    Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
    (Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
    If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.
    If 10.7.0 or later...
    Bootup holding CMD+r, or the Option/alt key to boot from the Restore partitirion & use Disk Utility from there to Repair the Disk.

    i decided to update my ios 7.1.1 to ios 8.3 on my ipad air it has been downloading for the last 5 hours and it still says about 19 hours remaining how do i fix/make it update faster

    Open Settings->General->Usage->Storage-> Manage Storage.  Scroll down until you see iOS 8.3 or 8.3 update then tap on it to see how much has downloaded.  If there is still a lot to go, tap Delete & try again later.
    The Apple Update servers can be very slow sometimes.

    Use iTune (computer) to update the apps. When completed, sync to iPad.

    Thank you. I know you're all users and not official Apple tech support, but I also know that the results of these discussions make their way up to search engines, and that Apple has to be aware that the issues discussed here happen.
    As for the link to contact the iTunes support, I have already used that. I have a "ticket number" in their system, and have signed up for Apple to call me tonight after work. I was on hold with them yesterday for about 40 minutes, but had to hang up when my children's doctor called (they are both sick).
    I was just venting, in the hopes that my venting would find others in the same troubled spot and we could share our frustratons together.

  • My itunes library has been compromised.  How do I unistall itunes and then reinstall intunes from na back-up copy?

    We could not locate some files on iTunes.  We asked a friend to help and now almost all of our library is gone, apps, books, downloaded songs, etc. The only items in our library are purchased songs.  We don't even have an updated version of iTunes.

    Somehow, "my web search" has hijacked Firefox. When I click the Firefox icon, "My Web Search" comes up instead. I can't find Firefox to reset my home page. The problem program doesn't appear in programs, so I can't uninstall it.

    Do a malware check with some malware scan programs. You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of the database before doing a scan.

    I am getting desperate trying to cancel by telephone a subscription to the NY Times since it expired on 01-15-13, and I tried to call to cancel and I even called the NY Times and spoke to an agent there that indeed located my subscription but could not help me cancel since I had bought it from iTunes.
    He did give me a tel. number for iTunes but he did not vouch that it would help me since it ended up being a technicl support number and the lady I spoke with told me that she could not even tell me where to go to cancel and she of course could not cancel it so back to square 1.
    I 'm concerned because my credit card did not have the funds to cover tha $34.99 charge, and escond, I have bought many apps. so far from your partners but now I am told that I will not be able to updare any of them as they offer updatings due to the payment problem on the NY Times although I  did not even wish to buy it again from iTunes at all.
    I have had an Apple I-phone as you can tell, for many years now and have the 3rd one right now and getting ready for May to come to upgrade to
    the latest model, but with this service, I'm inclined to "fuhgetetabout-it" and go to Galaxy, etc., that are begining to sound very atractive as of today.
    You tell me what is next and I will lsten, but I do not want to pay $34.99 just to throw my money away.  I will be willing to wait till May to finish my contract and move on to the competition if need be, I will not be bullied by a giant company that refuses to give me a tel. number to simply cnacel a subscriptin without wasting so much of my preciious times..

    Thanks, that got rid of the error message, but my wifi is still off and the button is "grayed out" won't let me turn it on.  The message says "location accuracy is improved when Wi-Fi is turned on".  Can anyone tell me how turn it back on?

    Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
