MY PHOTO LIBRARY WONT LOAD

i dont know what i photo i have. i am using my girlfriends old ibook g4. when i try to open iphoto the progam starts but the library wont load. it tries but nothing happens. she says it hasnt worked in a year. i tried downloading a new version of iphoto but when i try to install it i get this message
iPhoto_606 cannot be installed on this computer.
An eligible iPhoto application could not be found in /Applications.
how can i get this to work. what does this mean????? help me!!

iPhoto_606 cannot be installed on this computer.
That means that iPhoto 6 is not installed on the computer. You can't run the version 6 updater, because you would have to upgrade first. Upgrading requires a purchase.
To see what version is installed, select iPhoto inside the Applications folder and do File > Get Info (or type Command-i). The info box will state the version number, and you don't have to launch the application to get this information.
While you're in the Finder (with iPhoto closed) navigate to Macintosh HD/ Users/ (your user name)/ Library/ Preferences/ com.apple.iPhoto.plist and move that file to the Trash. See if iPhoto will launch and load the library then.
If not, report back with the version number and we can go from there.

Old iphoto library wont load/open

Hi.
I am on the yosemite upgrade (10.10.1) and my iphoto is upgraded to 9.6 on a mac book pro.
I have an older library from my backup that I cannot open. This particular library has some baby pictures on it and I am hoping to recover them.
When i updated to Mavericks my computer crashed during the update and i was able to back up my data in safe mode (because i forgot to backup before..) and i have everything. i was able to get the OS installed and working, loaded the back up. My iphoto would not open but i downloaded it again and was able to use it but it would not open my library previous to the upgrade. Gave up, would come back once in awhile to try remedies read online. Now, looking into the package contents i saw what must be my pics (about 700 files in albums folder) and downloaded aperture because it would open that file type. No avail.
I like to think i am pretty computer savvy but i am at a loss here. I can give you any information you need to help me. Ive rebuilt, repaired, used command console, looked in icloud, etc.

Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

HT6378 I cant find my photo library after loading it to iCloud.

I tried to upload my library of about 2300 photos to iCloud. It only loaded about 4 photos but now I cant find the rest of my photos. What happened to them?

i already tried uninstalling it then when im downloading it said it is already installed but still it has no icon and i cant see it either on the application management.
tried also wiping the data and downloading again but on the appworld it says "an error has occured communicating with the Blackberry App world web plug in. Please restart your device and try again. If you have content protection enabled on your device, please diable and try again" I already did it but it was always the error.

ITunes library wont load of install of most recent iTunes

i recently updated the latest version of my itunes and the program began to "update itunes library" as it does with every new version of itunes, this time however it froze up when there was about one block left to be updated, i've tried reinstalling the program multiple times and the same thing happens upon each reinstalation. it freezes at about 98% completed. please help, getting really frustrated at this point.

Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

Photo booth wont load picture

could i fix this by uninstalling and re-installing photo booth?
it 3-2-1-snaps the picture but doesnt add it below
this started when i changed from Tiger to Leopard on Friday

Most likely you're using the Tiger version of Photobooth instead of the Leopard version.
I had the same problem. Go into Applications and find the other version with the different icon.

You will sometimes get this message if there's a photo CD in the Mac, so eject any CD's or DVD's and try again.

Photo library to iPhoto

When i plug in my ipod to mac book air and touch the camera icon I have saved photos and photo library. I opne iphot and ony saved photos automatically load into iphoto. How do i get photo library to load to iphoto? thanks

You don't.
These photos are a one way sync - computer to iphone. As they came from your computer in the first place, they should still be there.

When I first am looking at my newly uploaded photos in "Library", a box appears near the bottom of the photo that says "loading" (the photo looks good to me), then it is more "faded" and does not look as good. Is there some setting on that I am not aware

There used to be a way to see if poster was new to the forum.., anyway - welcome to the forum.
As I was alluding to, biggest differences in initial display are due to:
* Camera calibration profile.
* Auto-exposure/contrast settings (for which compensations have been auto-applied in camera, but not in Lightroom).
So, choose a matching camera calibration profile (whether that's an option or not depends on your camera model - they're available for many but not all models) if you prefer one of them over "Adobe Standard" (the factory default profile).
Also, your camera covers for underexposure due to non-optimal auto-exposure/contrast setting, Lightroom doesn't, so your options are:
* turn it off in camera.
* learn to compensate manually (or automatically via a plugin) in Lightroom.
Of course, in addition to preferred defaults (alt-click big "reset" button in dev module), come up with some presets which are appropriate for your druthers and type of photography.. e.g. these will compensate Nikon ADL settings:

iPhoto is Apple's included program to manage your photo's and pictures.
It receives updates over time with Software updates and new machine or iLife purchases.
When iPhoto gets updated or a newer version is used, it may alter iPhoto support files, but newer iPhoto versions usually always compatible with older files which it then updates.
If you used a newer iPhoto on your iPhoto support files, then they got altered to the newer format, older iPhoto versions can't read the older format.
Somewhere along the line you somehow got a older version of iPhoto on your computer, you need to fine the newer version of iPhoto (not this photo manager, sounds like another program)
Or somewhere along the line you used a newer iPhoto version (like on another Mac) and it altered the iPhoto support files on your older version of iPhoto.
So the key here is to find the newest version of iPhoto and use that to access your iPhoto support files.
If you didn't access your iPhoto support files from another Mac, then you should have the newer iPhoto version on your computer.
Once you find it, and get it in the Dock, you should remove the older iPhoto version from your computer to prevent this from happening again.
Lastly, if the newer version of iPhoto is somehow gone off your computer, you should be able to get a copy off the latest OS X install disk or iLife using a free program called Pacifist.

After updating iTunes to 11.0.1.12 and updating Apple TV to 5.1.1 my Apple TV is no longer picking up my photo library. It just keeps saying "loading library" but never brings the pictures up. This didn't happen with previous versions. Any ideas?

Update on my previous comment. I have solved my issue. Issue was with Windows 7 firewall not operating correctly. I was unable to add itunes to the 'Allow programs to communicate through windows firewall'. Followed the instructions to the foot of the page, restarted PC, normal service resumed on windows firewall, added itunes to list to communicate through firewall. restarted itunes, restarted appletv, success!!!

My repaired macbook now has Yosemite. I have my photo library on an external drive loaded with Aperture 2. Now unable to do anything.

My "photo management macbook" crashed and when it was repaired it was upgraded to Yosemite. This macbook is used exclusively for photos using Aperture 2 (I also have a new Pro retina and an older macbook as well, with Yosemite and Lion loaded respectively). I have my photo library on an external drive and it was loaded using Aperture 2. Now I cannot use Aperture, cannot see photos, cannot upgrade to Aperture 3.6 and so cannot migrate photos to another software package, which I am going to have to do this year sometime.
What can I do to get Aperture working and migrate my photos?

On Yosemite you can only run Aperture 3.6, but that will not run on Lion.
If you want to get Aperture running on your photo management macbook, restore it to the previous system from the last backup you made before the crash occurred, if you have a full Time Machine backup. If you want to keep the Mac on Yosemite, try to restore the older system to an external drive and boot the Mac from that drive, when you want to work with Aperture 2.
Otherwise your only option would be to buy the upgrade to Aperture 3.6.

Restart your Mac.
That's why you see this:
When I try to do the updates my computer says it has ready it goes through like it is downloading them then at the end it says some of the files could not be saved to "/" files.
After your restart your Mac, click the Apple  menu (top left in your screen) then click: Software Update ...

Itunes says there's a problem and wont load 963 photos, but yet there is room on the iphone. How do I find out what the problem is and how do I fix it.

Most of us do not have this problem and can connect to our libraries on demand, it would therefor seem reasonable to assume that the issue lies somewhere other than iTunes or the Apple TV, my first thought is network issues, have you done anything to ensure it's not your network.
