My photo stream disappeared this morning!! ???

I'm  very confused! I was looking in my hoot stream and all of a sudden the pics started disappearing?? Where did they go

How long ago were they added to the Photo Stream?  Did all of them disappear or just some? On what device did they disappear from?

  • I reset my iPad, why did my photo stream disappear?

We set my iPad up with my mother's apple I.d. Then reset it to link it to mine instead. Why did my photos taken with it, that were supposed to be on photo stream disappear? :-(

Let's see if I get this right...  You had the ipad connected to icloud using some ID.  Then you reset it and now have the device connected to your icloud ID, but the photos on the photo stream under your icloud account are not there.  Right?
The answer may be a time factor.
While photos in a device's photo stream album remain, the photos in the photo stream server in icloud remain for up to 30 days. So it could be that while the photos are on some other device of yours, they may not be in icloud's stream database any longer.  That's why you may not be seeing them when you just turned on photo stream on the device.
But your photos may also be on your computer.  It is always recommended that photos be synced to a computer just as you sync photos from a camera to a computer for storage.

    Hi Jose Sam,
It sounds like some of your photos are over 30 days old.

I see different photos in My Photo Stream on each of my devices.
Your device will keep up to 1000 photos, even if they are older than 30 days. Photos older than 30 days are removed from the iCloud server, so all devices may not have the same photos, depending on when you enabled My Photo Stream.
You may want to sync the older photos through iTunes to get them on your new iPad mini.

You are posting in the "icloud on my mac" forum, but your profile mentions Windows.  If using a mac, you need to have iphoto or aperture installed in order to receive new photos via photo stream.  If using windows, try posting in the iCloud on a PC forum.  You'll get better help there.

  • When I take a photo it goes to camera roll and my photo stream. This doubles the memory being used. Can I delete the camera roll?

When I take a photo it goes to camera roll and my photo stream. This doubles the memory being used. Can I delete the camera roll? This seems pointless to have the same pictures twice. My Photo Stream pictures upload to my PC, so why should I have the same photos in Camera Roll?
Am I supposed to delete pictures in camera roll after they go into My Photo Stream? Why can't I just take a picture and it go to photo stream on its own? My camera roll AND My Photo Stream go back to March 11, 2014

You're misinformed and have asked several questions that I'll try to tackle.
No it doesn't double the memory. The Photo Stream image is simply a pointer to what you have in your camera roll.
If you delete pictures from your camera roll, leaving them only in Photo Stream, you will lose those images forever if you don't then pull them out of Photo Stream on another connected device. Photo Stream is meant to be TEMPORARY cloud storage for your images. Read about it here: iCloud: My Photo Stream FAQ
You should ALWAYS offload your images if you want to keep them. See how to do that here: iOS: Import personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer

  • My contacts have disappeared this morning, I backed up yesterday but dont know where the back up is

My contacts have disappeared this morning, I backed up yesterday but dont know where the back up is

the iphone is designed to be synced to your computer.  You should have been syncing your contacts with Outlook, Address Book for example from day one.
Have you failed to do this?
"* Your contacts are part of the backup to preserve recent calls and favorites lists. Back up your contacts to a supported personal information manager (PIM), iCloud, or another cloud-based service to avoid any potential contact data loss."

  • Help! My photos won't stream to the cloud and share with other devices. ( I've had the photo stream button on all the time I've had the phone.) The only way I can do it is by manually adding them to photo stream and this is very slow/ misses photos..

    Hello,
I'm very frustrated. I need to delete photos from my iphone to increase the storage so I can update the operating system. Since first using the phone I bought extra iCloud storage and ensured the photo streaming button for the iCloud was turned on.
Unfortunately it seems to have a mind of its own and will download and share some photos but the majority have not been downloaded.
I've resorted to manually putting them on photo stream (the one you share with friends) so the photos will be on my iPad. It also takes ages for my iphone to put them on the photo stream. It's downloaded one album x3 ..??!!? I've tried deleting the duplicated photos but it's now frozen on me....
I haven't dared delete the photos from my camera roll in case I loose them all and I'm therefore stuck in the situation of being unable to download the new operating system or take anymore photos/download music/apps. It *****!
    Please Help!
Are there any other options for me to be able to  download my photos when I don't have a computer/laptop? Is there a permanent online storage option I can use?
    Thanks
    Becky

Amazing steps you've done so far! The great news is this is very unlikely an issue with your iPhone.
I've run into a similar issue lately as well. I narrowed it down to one song that was causing 30 songs not to sync. I removed the song from the sync list (unchecked it) and all 29 songs were able to sync.
You may be running into a similar issue. This may be a problem with this version of iTunes, an issue with one song or a group of songs; hard to know for sure. It's important to narrow down and isolate the cause. Most imporantly get that music back on there!
The way to narrow down the casue add just a few songs at a time (even 1, just to get that first sync finished). Manually syncing is what you'll need here.
Plug in your iPhone, on the Summary screen (shows a picture of your iPhone, the iOS version, Restore iPhone....; etc). Under the Options area at the bottom choose to Manually Manage Videos and Music then choose Apply in the lower right. The music that's on your iPhone now should be removed from your iPhone now. You're now able to sync music manually.
The link below explains how to drag the songs from the iTunes library on the computer on to your iPhone which will start the sync. Add just one song just to see if you can get 1 of those hundreds of songs on there. If you can, awesome! Keep adding until you find the song or group of songs that are causing this issue.

  • Pictures in my Photo Stream disappeared?

I was checking my photo stream for some pictures I took a while ago. I had about 750 photos on my Photo Stream, which I know is under the "1000 photos before they start deleting from your device" rule. Suddenly, just yesterday (after recently upgrading my iPhone 4S to iOS 7 if that helps) I noticed that only about 100 still remained in my Photo Stream. My computer is too old to have iCloud, so if these pictures are gone from my phone and Apple ID forever, this is not a good thing for me. If anyone could help me to retrieve these photos, that I most certainly did not accidentaly delete, I would be really greatful.

I found a fix guys, had the same thing... photos gone from camera role but still showed they are occupying the memory.
if you download iFunbox (www.i-funbox.com) you will be able to acccess you iphone, ipod, ipad system and can just copy to computer the jpg files from the RAW FILE SYSTEM or CAMERA tab by selecting all the photos.

  • IOS 8 : Camera Roll & Photo Stream disappeared

Since upgrading to IOS 8 on both iPhone & iPad, Camera Roll & Photo Stream have disappeared off both devices.
Checked in iTunes & not shown.
Is there any way of restoring or just lost with upgrade?

Just make sure you're in moments rather than in years. And it will only take you to the maps if you click on the location names (when you're in collections) so click on the photos instead. That's all I can tell you to do since they've went ahead and taken off "Camera Roll"..

  • Photo Stream Disappeared on Laptop

I just updated to Itunes 11.1 on my Dell laptop. Before the update I had a "PhotoStream" folder that contained all of the photos on my IPhone. After the update I now have a folder called "ICloud Photos" but there are only 23 photos in the folder. Does anyone know how I can locate the rest of the photos on my laptop?

  • I downloaded iOS 8 and my photo stream disappeared. The weird thing is, when I went to post an Instagram picture, they were all there. So I can access them on Instagram but not from the photos app... Help?!

i have tried turning photo stream on and off and only a few come back

In iOS 8 the PhotoStream album is lumped into the recently added photos album. Delete a photo there and you will delete it from your PhotoStream.

  • IPhone 5 ios6 alarm clock disappeared this morning!?

Lost an important appointment. It seem like many people had this same problem. So if this is an old known bug, why is it still happening? Apple you owe us answers...

Fetch also works..... I don't really see a problem myself..... With 4 email accounts on push I'll be looking at emails all day...
Either way it works for me I'm happy :).
