My photo stream folder in new Photos app for Mac

i tried to use and understand the new photos app for mac, and found that my photo stream folder is continuously hide (I didn't set my photos in the app to store to iCloud library), i don't know if this is a bug or something, the only way to fix the problem is to go to preferences and uncheck and recheck the photostream
anyone has the same problem? or how to fix this problem permanently?

At that size, what copied over is just the reference to the video file, not the video itself. Some suggestions:
1. In iPhoto, select the video, then in the File menu select Reveal in Finder. If this finds the original file, add it manually to Photos.
2. Perform a Spotlight search for the video file title/name. If found, move to Photos.
3. If you imported or modified the files in iMovie, launch it and find/export the originals from there.

I've taken around 600 new photos the last two weeks. But on my photo stream album are only 147 photos being shown.
How can I fix this problem? I've tried to turn and off photo stream. But nothing changed.

I copied the photos from my photo stream folder to a new folder on my macbook pro. I then deleted the phots in my photo stream folder. It erased them from the other folder as well. Why? Where did they go? Can I get them back? Please help. Thanks.

Hello, I wanted to clear out my photo stream folder on my macbook pro, so I copied all the photos to a permanent folder. I then deleted all the photos in my photo stream folder. The photos in my backup folder were automatically deleted and I want them retrieved. They are not in my trash and I can't find them. Are photos autmatically backed up in my phots? How can I retrieve the deleted photos? Please help. Thanks.

You can't currently delete individual photos but you can reset
Step 1: Login to your iCloud account on iCloud.com from a Mac or PC.
Step 2: Click on your name at the top right of the main iCloud page.
Step 3: Click on the Advanced option.
Step 4: Click “Reset Photo Stream.” You will then need to confirm.
Step 5: This Photo Stream reset will not go into effect until you toggle Photo Stream on and off on your devices. In iOS, Photo Stream can be turned off and on in the iCloud settings window of the Settings app.

Cannot access photos in photo stream folder

PS Touch on my iPad iOS 8.2 cannot access photos in the photo stream folder. They appear as blank boxes. Why? The photo stream folder contains photos that are shared across devices. The photo stream folder appears in the app but when opened blank boxes appear where the photos should be. After doing a search, I see this has been an ongoing problem for other users & uninstalling/reinstalling does not fix the issue. The workaround is to copy the photos into Camera Roll then import them from there. Does Adobe plan to address this issue in a future update?

Particularly:
I don't see photos in Photo Stream on my iOS device.
Check the following:
From your Home screen, tap Settings > iCloud > Photo Stream, and make sure the slider is set to the ON position.
From the Home screen, tap Settings > Wi-Fi, make sure the slider is set to ON, and that your device is connected to a wireless network.
Ensure that Camera app is closed on the device where you took the photo. Photo Stream will not upload photos from an iOS device until the Camera app is closed.
Ensure your iOS device has not fallen below 20% battery power. To preserve battery life, Photo Stream downloading and uploading are disabled when the battery reaches this threshold. Downloading and uploading will resume once you charge your device, and the battery charge is greater than 20%.

Why does my photo uploaded from my PC into the upload Photo Stream folder not show up on my iPhone or iPad?

I just set up iCloud for my new iPhone 4S and iPad2. I have a PC running Windows 7. I have downloaded the iCloud for Windows 7 software. In experimenting with iCloud, I see the pictures that I took on my iPad and iPhone have been streamed to my PC, no problems there; however, I have been trying to upload only one picture (.jpg format) from my PC to iCloud and it does not show up on my iPhone or my iPad. I moved the picture into the upload folder in Photo Stream manually from my PC. I have read and reread the directions several times and I cannot see that I am missing any steps, but the picture does not show up. Has anyone else had this problem and been successful in overcoming it?

I had the same problem with my iPad. I did what the post above says and it fixed it.
Before I did that my photos weren't showing up in the photo stream but in my FB app if I choose to upload a pic from photo stream they were there. Weird.

No photos in the photo stream folder

I don't see any photos on my iPad 2 in the Photo stream folder after I have started to photo app several times. When I disable the photo stream function, restart the iPad and activate photo stream again It works. But only for a moment until I change to another subject like place, face etc. I have no problems with Photo stream on my iPhone, ATV or Mac Mini. Any suggestions?

All my "shared" albulms pushed to my Laptop and are up-to-date with the exception of the "photostream" album. If I create a "shared stream album" and place photo's in it on the phone; I can see the photos on my laptop. I dont get it. I had a iphone 4s and had zero isues and now with my new nifty iPhone 5s it doesent work.
What am I not doing correctly.

At 1.3GB available, your storage space is getting very thin no matter what you do further. As long as you have the photo's in the camera roll saved on your computer you can delete them. Just make sure first that they are in your photo software. If updating in iTunes, just backup/sync first, then update, and that will save the camera roll in the backup as well.
At only 1.3GB you eventually are going to find yourself unable to install or update some app, or unable to take any new pictures, or some other limitation that will force you to free up space anyway. So now, before updating, sounds like a good time to make sure everything is backed up or stored somewhere else, and clean house a bit, then update.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
    •    Photostream only syncs photos over Wi-Fi, make sure you are connected to Wi-Fi to begin with.
    •    Photostream only syncs when the camera app is closed, ensure it is closed.
    •    Photostream only syncs when the battery is above 20%, try recharging the device
Try disabling photo stream on your device (settings > iCloud), restarting your device and then re-enabling photo stream.
If this doesn't help you may need to reset photo stream. You can do this at icloud.com by clicking on your name in the top right corner and then the advanced settings in the pop-up dialogue box that appears.
Note: disabling photostream and re-enabling it will result in any photos that are currently in the photostream album on your device, that are older than 30 days old, not being added back.

Photo Stream not uploading unless photos app is open

I am having issues with Photo Stream. According to Apple--
"On an iOS device, new photos you take will be automatically uploaded to your Photo Stream when you leave the Camera app and are connected to Wi-Fi. Note: Photo Stream does not push photos over cellular connections."
That is fine BUT I took 20+ pictures with my iPhone, came home and of course connected to my WiFi. None of the photos were uploaded. Several hours later I realized this and opened "photos" then they started uploading. So I hit the home button to exit photos and the upload stopped. Apparently the way this is now it is NOT HAPPENING AUTOMATICALLY I have to sit there with my photos app open and wait until it is finished.
Not Cool! Any Ideas?

I have install Win8 on my PC and re-intall latest itunes and Icloud app.
I made configuration for photo stream and photo shared with friends.
On windows folders the photo stream folder is not updated and kept empty!
It works well with photos I share with friends, folders are up to date.
Why this photostream folder is not updated ?

How do I delete a 2 photo stream folder from my Iphone 4 device

I followe the instructions on resetting my photo stream. It deleted all the pics from one Photo Stream Folder but not the other. I dont even know how I got 2 photo stream folders. Can someone tell me how to get rid of the pics in the second folder and or how to completely delete the 2nd photo stream folder. Please help.... Thanks all...

Depends on which photos.
Camera Roll pics ( taken with the iphone) can be deleted one at a time from the iphone, or when you import them to your computer as with any digital camera.
Pics synced to your iphone from your computer are deleted the sam way - the sync process. Open itunes, select what you want on your iphone, sync.

Photostream in the cloud only keeps photos from the last 30 days (subject to a 1,000 photo limit). When photostream syncs the photos to your device they will stay there until deleted, which means you may well have more photos in your photostream album on your device than there are in photostream in the cloud.
The consequence of this is that if you turn photostream off and on again on your device (or enable it for the first time), it will only be populated with photos from the last 30 days, which may not be all the photos that were previously in the photostream album on that device.
