My photos come ALIVE when i zoom in

fce, making a huge slide show. when i zoom in (kens burn effect) any sharp edge, blinds..edges of desks etc become really wavy to the point of ugly distraction to photo. so i tried to reproduce this by taking the original photo in iphoto altered it in photoshop, hi res,low res, w and wo unsharp mask, pict instead of jpeg, brought each altered photo in fce and no wavy...?
? what did i do wrong to make wavy edges ?
? and short of replacing hundreds of photos, what can i do in fce to correct it
this happens on color and b and w photos. i thought it wood fix itself when i bring it into idvd but nope................... help

Hi(Bonjour)!
This problem is related to the way a TV image is drawed on screen in NTSC format(2 sets of lines, displayed alternatively)
Try "desinterlace" filter on some photos to see if there is an improvement.
There are some settings to try with this filter.
If it solves the problem, nest your sequence in a new sequence and apply globaly your desinterlace filter to it.
In photoshop you can export your photos to PNG format who offers "interlaced" option .
Good luck.

  • I have several pics that when I click on them another photo comes up. when I click and drag the one underneath comes out but when I drop it the other photo is over top again. How can I fix this?

I have several pics in my iphoto library that have shown up in my folders with the original photo laid underneath it. How do I seperate them?

You don't already have a back up?
    Most Simple Back Up
Drag the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to another Disk. This will make a copy on that disk.
    Slightly more complex:
Use an app that will do incremental back ups. This is a very good way to work. The first time you run the back up the app will make a complete copy of the Library. Thereafter it will update the back up with the changes you have made. That makes subsequent back ups much faster. Many of these apps also have scheduling capabilities: So set it up and it will do the back up automatically. Examples of such apps: Chronosync or DejaVu . But are many others. Search on MacUpdate
With the back up? Nothing unless things get worse after the fix. If they do, restore from the back up.

  • When I try to set a photo for my wallpaper, its zooms in. How do I stop it from doing so?

When I try to set one of my photos as the walpaper, it zooms in on the photo. How do I stop it from doing so?

    Hello joecarusoinc
The reason it zooms in on the picture is to give a sense of depth perception and not have any black space with the photo. If you want to reduce the amount of zoom try turning on Reduce Motion to see if that will work for you.

  • My problem is that after printing the first photo or picture, when I come to print a second, both the Colour Management and Epson Colour Controls are greyed out and showing No Colour Management

I have recently purchased a Mac computer (updated to Maverick) to go with my Epson Stylus Photo RX500 printer which has given excellent service with my old Windows computer. However, when trying to print pictures or photos via Photoshop Elements 11, the best results I can get are using the Colour Management and Epson Colour controls in the printing options box.
My problem is that after printing the first photo or picture, when I come to print a second, both the Colour Management and Epson Colour Controls are greyed out and showing No Colour Management, The only way I can reset the controls is to shut down the printer and computer and restart.
Could there may be a setting somewhere that I need to adjust please?  I have been in touch with Epson and they say that the Epson Colour controls are part of the Photoshop Elements software but a post on the Adobe forum brought no results and I am unable to contact Adobe.

Hello Garry. Thanks for the reply. I guess I should have used a different title from "How do I post a question?" That should come after trying to resolved the colour settings first. However, to answer your question, after experimenting with all the different settings in Photoshop Elements and Epson software, I now start with PSE11 Colour settings then click "no colour management" then after clicking Print, I choose "More Options/Colour Management/Colour Handling/Printer Manages Colour" then I choose "Page Setup/Layout/Colour Matching" which then shows Epson Colour Controls but I also choose "Layout/Colour Management" which then shows "Colour Controls/Mode" I then of course choose an Epson printer profile depending on the paper I am using. I get good results but as I said, the Colour Matching and Colour Controls are then greyed out. Hope that makes sense.

    Hi ,
Anti- alisa feature only available to text layers not image layers.
you can add blur to make it smooth (if image has not too much details ).

  • Photos don't show individually. they only come up when I double click the blank box. how can I restore iPhoto?

when I open iPhoto, the screen shows only blanc squares where the photos should appear. when I double-click on a square (titled by date taken), all pictures come up. how can I get back to seeing all individual pictures?

Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the option to rebuold the thumbnails. This can take 3 or 4 goes to work

  • When I zoom in on photo using iPhoto, how can I save the zoomed in photo please?  This always looks better than cropping., When I zoom in on photo using iPhoto, how can I save the zoomed in photo please?  This always looks better than cropping.

When I zoom in on photo using iPhoto, how can I save the zoomed in photo please?  I would like a screen shot of my zoomed in photo - is this possible?.  Cropping doesn't give the same effect as zooming in and magnifying the photo.  Any help would be appreciated thank you.  I have an iMac

To take a screenshot of the zoomed photo, press either the key combination
⇧⌘3   for a screenshot of the full screen, or
⇧⌘4   to bring up a selection rectangle: select the section of the screen, that you want to save.
The screenshots will be sent to your desktop; drag them from there to the iPhoto icon in the Dock to import them.

  • Testing iMac in store I checked iPhoto editing. Photo said to be 42Mb but zooming caused immediate pixellation, so clearly was not displaying a 42Mb file. When I zoom in PS on PC a large file retains detail for a lot of zooming. Whats going on?

While testing a MacBook pro in the Apple Store, I checked iPhoto. Looking at what was said to be  42Mb file I noticed that zooming caused immediate pixellation, so clearly a 42Mb RAW file was not what I was looking at. In my PS Elements on my PC when I zoom, the photo remains unpixellated until quite a lot of zoom is used (marked as 100%). This depends on the file size of the photo of course. Maybe the displayed photo in iPhoto is a low res. jpeg. This is not too good for me. I wanted to see how the base model of MacBook would handle photos esp large files and I need to zoom in. Will the base model cope with this in PSE for Mac?

iPhoto will happily zoom to 300%. The quality at that magnification will depend on the quality of the image.  But if it's a sharp image - of any size - it will zoom to 300% with no problems.
PSE for Mac has nothing to do with iPhoto. I have used it with no problems, but for best information why not ask over at the Adobe forums?

  • When I zoom In, My photos look pixelated?

I have just recently been having this problem, never have before...
So basically when I zoom in past 100% it goes way more pixelated than it should be.
I was looking into " Display performance ", I think that may be the problem but I can't find the way to change it.
    Sorry if this is vague...
    Thanks in advance.
    (Photoshop CC on windows)

Only the 100% view is valid.
At lower magnification you are discarding pixels; at higher magnification you are inventing, making up pixels that aren't there.
A lot more information about your hardware and software is needed.
    BOILERPLATE TEXT:
If you give complete and detailed information about your setup and the issue at hand,
such as your platform (Mac or Win),
exact versions of your OS, of Photoshop (not just "CC", but something like CC2014.v.2.2) and of Bridge,
your settings in Photoshop > Preference > Performance
the type of file you were working on,
machine specs, such as total installed RAM, scratch file HDs, total available HD space, video card specs, including total VRAM installed,
what troubleshooting steps you have taken so far,
    what error message(s) you receive,
if having issues opening raw files also the exact camera make and model that generated them,
if you're having printing issues, indicate the exact make and model of your printer, paper size, image dimensions in pixels (so many pixels wide by so many pixels high). if going through a RIP, specify that too.
a screen shot of your settings or of the image could be very helpful too,
    etc.,
someone may be able to help you (not necessarily this poster, who is not a Windows user).

HI everybody i want to ask if you come me in help, i want to draw paths but when i use stroke options with pen or brush settings i loose quality when i zoom in , can someone help me with pen settings???

The work path is a vector object, and infinitely scalable, but when you stroke it, Photoshop lays pixels on a layer that follow the path.  These pixels are raster based and can not be scaled without loosing quality.  You do have options.  If you want to make the raster layer bigger, transform the work path and stroke it again.  Or work at a higher resolution in the first place.
Incidentally, you can't stroke a Path with the Pen, because it is a Vector based tool, and stroking is a raster based function.

  • Photos app crashes when zooming some photos

Some photos synced from my iMac's iPhoto '11 library are crashing the Photos app on my iPad. The iPad displays these photos are blurry thumbnails, then when I zoom into them, it puts the play button on the photo, like it's a video. If I tap the photo or interact with it to go to the next photo, it will crash the Photos app.
