My photos will not publish in iphoto, my photos will not publish in iphoto
iphoto - I am publishing an album to MobileMe Gallery, it publishes, I see the album and then when I go to the gallery, it isn't there. Then a box comes up, saying it has been deleted. This has happened to me before and then I go on another time and it seems okay. Could it be a glitch happening at the time with MobileMe as I use this process regularly and it mostly works.
relaunch iphoto holding the option and command keys,
and run the Iphoto Library first aid.

Do you get this window when you hold down the Command+Option keys and launch iPhoto?
If not then you're not holding down both keys long enough.

Photo will not upload new photos from same camera that always worked in IPhoto. Says "could not be uploaded )may be unrecognized file type or files may not contain valid data). Help!
Try image capture or a card reader - after the photos are safely on your Mac then use the camera's format command to reformat the memory card

I keep getting the message MobileMe has been discontinued - iPhoto willmove albums you have published to MobileMe Gallery. . . but I have not knowingly published any photos to MobileMe. How can I get this message to stop. It's getting annoying.
Also, how can I remove duplicate photos in an album without doing it manually?
Thanks!When the prompt pops up next time you start iPhoto select Learn more. Then click on iPhoto preferences and select the Accounts tab. Delete your MM account and the quit iPhoto. Next time you open iPhoto the problem should be eliminated.

Iphoto upgrade it says your photos will not be readable following update. Will my photos be lost?
Your photo library will not be readable by previous versions of iphoto after the upgrade. Some may be on the cloud but how can I save them? I haven't backed anything up and can't open iphoto to try. I/ve copied it onto my desktop but can't open that either!
Please help a t otal idiot!Before you do anything else make a backup of your iPhoto library. Disk drives do fail regularly, and one day all your photos will be gone for sure, if you do not keep copies on a different drive.
You can simply drag theiPhoto library from your Pictures folder to a different disk to create a backup copy.

You misunderstood the warning. When you use a new version of iPhoto with yiur iPhoto library, the older iPhoto version will no longer bea ble to read the library, but naturally, the new version you are using now, will be able to show your photos.
So proceed with the update - that is a routine warning, and is necessary, to be able to use your iPhoto library with the new version of iPhoto. -
IMovie will not allow me to import photos from iPhoto
the media button in imovie that suppose to let me import photos and music is not active and will not allow me to get anything, but if i check iphoto by itself it shows me everything i got. Please help i really need to get this project done by this week!

Starting over from scratch with new library
Start over with a new library and import the Originals (iPhoto 09 and earlier) or the Masters (iPhoto 11) folder from your original library as follows:
1. Open the library package like this.
2. Launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and, when asked, select the option to create a new library.
3. Drag the subfolders of the Originals (iPhoto 09 and earlier) or the Masters (iPhoto 11) folder from the open iPhoto Library package into the open iPhoto window a few at a time.
This will create a new library with the same Events (but not necessarily the same Event names) as the original library but will not keep the metadata, albums, books slideshows and other projects.
Note: your current library will be left untouched for further attempts at a fix if so desired. -
My iphoto on my MacBook Pro will not let me import my photos from my canon t3i. It is blurred over both import all, and import selected showing that I cant choose those options. I've tried with the memory card and usb cord. Please help!

My MacBook Pro will not allow me to shut down my computer. Their seems to be a glitch in the iPhotos. It says it is still importing photos into iPhoto. It will not allow me to quit either.
You could always hold down the power button to force the MacBook to turn off. This is usually a last resort step though, but if nothing else is working and you are sure it isn't importing photos then you might consider it.

When syncing in ITUNES (IMAC) it will asked whether to use IPHOTO or PHOTOS. If I choose PHOTOS it says that PHOTOS is not ready to come back later. I have tried this several times. It will only sync to IPHONE. Am I missing something.?
Try designating a System Photo Library. Then your apps will use that.

I have a MacPro with OSX 10.9.4 and I photo 9.5. When opening IPhoto I got a message I needed to upgrade my IPhoto with an upgrade installer. Now IPhoto is just spinning and will not let me quit or Upgrade.

Retina 5K w iPhoto 9.6 will not send photo to Epson XP-810 Series printer. Eternal/Infernal Beachball starts immediately and the system is frozen. Requires hard shutdown to clear and regain control of computer operation. I can export photos to my Desktop and print out of the Preview App, but that isn't really satisfactory.
I also have had an intermittent problem of not being able to send an email with pictures attached from within the iPhoto - this problem extends back to Mountain Lion days.
I have checked for Epson XP-810 Series s/w downloads both on the Epson site and the Apple App Store, and I appear to have the most current version.As a test launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library. Import some photos and test to see if the same problem persists. Does it?

I used Migration Assistant to successfully bring that batch over from iPhoto v.8 on a laptop running OSX 10.5.8.
I want to add the older photos to my new iMac so all my pics are in one place.
I already tried to copy all the folders in iPhotoLibrary to my new desktop. iPhoto 11 doesn't import or recognize them if they are copied to new iphoto folder.Copy the old Library to the New mac.
Open it with iPhoto 11 - this will upgrade it to an 11 Library.
Use iPhoto Library Manager ($20) to merge the Libraries.
It's the only way to merge libraries. -

This tool prepares libraries from iPhoto 7 or earlier so they can be upgraded with the current version of iPhoto.
So if you previous version of iPhoto was 7 or earlier you need to download (it installs in the Applications/Utilities folder), launch and apply it to your iPhoto Library before opening the library with iPhoto 9.5.1.

I have been sending pics from my iPhoto to FaceBook for a long time. Today I tried sending them from my iPhoto and after clicking FB a window comes up with the question Do you want to publish...........(whatever the pics are about)? Then I choose the option of "everyone" "friends of friends" and "only friends". After choosing my option I can then click on "publish" and the pics go to my profile page on FB, or they did until today...because the word "publish" is grayed out and won't allow me to send them. Anyone got any suggestions why this got grayed out, and how can I fix it.

Your problem is that you have been running a Referenced Library, and now you're trying to convert this to a Managed Library
A Managed Library, is the default setting, and iPhoto copies files into the iPhoto Library when Importing. The files are then stored in the Library package
A Referenced Library is when iPhoto is NOT copying the files into the iPhoto Library when importing because you made a change at iPhoto -> Preferences -> Advanced. (You unchecked the option to copy files into the Library on import) The files are then stored where ever you put them and not in the Library package. In this scenario you are responsible for the File Management.
Simply changing the setting in the Preferences will not do this. It just means that imports from here forward will be Managed. Those that were Referenced remain so.
Now, because you've moved the Referenced Files to the new disk, iPhoto cn't find them. So it throws the error message. This is one of the major reasons experience users recommend against Referenced Libraries.
No change you make at this point will have any effect. The Library will try and update and throw the errors.
Options:
Let it run it's course and then fix it.
Or
Give it up as a bad job, recover your Photos and start over from scratch.

Add new photo to existing calendar folder in iPhoto
I am making a calendar in iPhoto, picking photos from a folder, let's call it "2011 Pics," in iPhoto. After arranging all the photos and captions I decided I wanted to insert a new photo -- one that was not in "2011 Pics." So I inserted it into the folder, but the picture does not show up on the scrolling menu of pictures at the left of the calendar-making page. This happened last year and in frustration I started all over again. But surely there is a way to add a new picture to a calendar that is already laid out.Yes, the Old Master file has a folder for each year where I find all photos from that specific year. I am attaching a screen shot of the file.
In the meantime i have managed to download all photos (it did not download any video files though in mpg, avi, 3gp, m4v,mp4 and mov format) to a new iphoto library. Unfortunately the photos are quite mixed and often doubled up. I ma considering to purchase iphoto library which checks all duplicates in iphoto. this will save me a lot of time. What do you think?
