My photos won't sync in proper order in i0s4

It used to be that they all loaded according to the filename within the folder so I was able to title the file by date and keep them chronologically sequenced. Now it seems to be stuck organizing them by creation date, which is incorrect for those photos that I may have for example scanned. Is there a preference I've been missing or does anyone have any idea how to get them organized by filename once more instead of the metadata?

This probably won't help the OP, as the article is about transferring data, not sorting. Many people here in the forums are struggling to sort their photos - try the search.
I think photos are sorted by the creating date in the photo's meta data (not the file's timestamp). At least I had some success manipulating that the last time I ran into this problem. But I can't remember exactly what I did and I do remember that there were two timestamps in the meta data ...
Here's hoping future versions of the Photos app will address this. Can't hurt to let Apple know about it: http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html

  • Photos won't sync: "Cannot be displayed on your iPod"

Many of my photos will no longer sync from iTunes (Aperture photos) on my Macbook to my iPod Touch. For example, out of 250 photos, only 2 sync.
    iTunes says:
"Some of your photos, including the photo "xxxx.jpg", were not copied
to the iPod "Leo's iPod Touch" because they cannot be displayed on your iPod."
These same photos synced fine from iPhoto, but awhile ago I switched to Aperture. I also recently installed Lion.
Any idea what can be done to rectify this? Thanks.

Fixed, by deleting the iPod Photo Cache folders in both the iPhoto and Aperture libraries.

  • Lots of photos won't sync - error of no free space

    Hi There,
I have an 8GB original iPhone.
When syncing, it frequently fails to copy photos saying
"No photos were copied to the iPhone "iPhone" because there is not enough free space on the iPhone to hold your photos and albums"
Now, all my photos for syncing are re-sized to 800x600 so are pretty small (the iTunes optimisation actually gives a bigger file size). After my current sync iTunes reports 262.3MB free - MORE than enough for the photos left to sync.
I've tried a multitude of things, including
    - deleting all the photos off the phone and starting again
    - clearing the iPhone photo cache folder
    - performing a full restore of the iPhone OS
The only thing that does appear to work is deleting videos, but then I still end up with the space for videos, but if I put them on there it deletes the photos. I can fill up the entire disc with video/music (iTunes allows that), but not photos.
I've seen some others are having this problem, but not seen a solution.
    Any thoughts?
    Please help,
    James

    Hi,
But if you had 60MB of photos and 110MB of free space, you shouldn't need to remove any apps?? At the very least it should copy as many as it can to use up all the free space?
A pretty annoying bug in iTunes sync??
I've also found that removing videos will allow me to copy the photos, but the annoying thing is that it's reporting enough space so that I SHOULD be able to have my photos AND videos AND apps - but it makes me chose so that it can keep free space...
BTW, I can fill up ALL the free space with video, but NOT with photos...!
Anyone got this to work properly at all??

  • IOS 6.1.3 photo won't sync(from iTunes iPad/iPhone) to  after update

After update both my iPad and iPhone to 6.1.3 a few days ago, I just found that both devices doesn't have anything in the Photos app! I have a lot of product sample pictures in a few albums, but just can't get them sync to the device anymore! When the sycn started, I can see the albums got created on the device, and the number of pictures need to be sync... it display "Syncing 0 of 1391", after maybe 1 minute, it stopped, nothing get sync.
I only select the albums I want in iTunes to sync, no event selected... that work perfectly fine before until this update.
No difference if wire or wifi.
My wife's iphone got different issue. She sync to her own iMac, when select a few events, all pictures all sync to the phone, but no events created! so all photos all show up in the "Photos", but nothing in "Events".
Just found that if I select 1 event, I can sync 1 album... but when I try the second time, it didn't work again!. After a lot of combinations of "events" and "albums" selections and many syncs, I finally got the pictures I want to my devices... by the behaviors are very unpredicatable, something definiatelly broken here!
    Anybody see similare issues?

YES!  Updated to 6.1.3 and can't sync at all.  Either by cable, bluetooth, or wifi.  My mac won't recognize my iphone at all.  Doesn't even show up in finder.  Can't sync anything from iTunes as iTunes won't recognize my iPhone either.

  • My photos won't sync with iCloud beta

I have 306 photos on my iPhone 6+. After turning on iCloud Photo Library (Beta) on my iPad Air, I now have 306 photos on it. (So far, so good.) But I can't get the photos to sync with beta.icloud.com. I tried deleting some photos at beta.icloud.com and they were deleted on my iPhone and iPad. But it won't work the other way around. I have 402 photos on beta.icloud.com, and the 6 new photos I took this afternoon with my iPhone won't upload there, although they should up on my iPad. I tried restarting my Macbook Pro and iPhone and still no go. Any solutions? Thanks. (I'm using 8.1 on both devices and Yosemite on my MacBook Pro.)

  • My photos won't sync to my mac

I didn't have problems before but now, my iPhone won't transfer my photo's to my MAC and it did before.  If I want them to transfer I have to use the wire.

Letting us know what exactly is happening, or not, would help greatly.  I am having visions of your parrot chewing through your sync cable as a possible reason.
Any exact error messsages (quote them directly)?
    Which model phone?
In addition to upgrading your computer operating system did you also update your iTunes software to the newest version?

  • Photos won't sync to iPod Touch

I have an iPod Touch 8GB with iOS version 4.2.1 and I'm having an issue with syncing photos. I try to sync a folder of pictures and the statue bar area where iTunes tells you what its doing, it goes through syncing, backing up, and says optimizing pictures, and goes through them quick but then give me this error:
Some of your photos, including photo "XXXXXX.jpg". Were not copied to iPod "iPod Name" Because they cannot be display on the Ipod.
    What should I do?

The following document is a good place to start with that one:

  • Photos won't sync to devices with iPhoto enhancements like cropping

So here's what I'm doing: I'll take photos with my iPhone 4S, import to my Macbook with iPhoto, make adjustments and enhacements using iPhoto like cropping and color enhancements, then I'll add these enhanced photos to albums, then I'll try to sync the iPhoto album to my iPhone or iPad. After syncing, I can view the album photos on my devices but the photos will sometimes look like the original photo from my iPhone instead of the enhanced as it looks in iPhoto.
This only happens to some photos. And it only happens on syncing; if I set the album as an Apple TV screen saver or publish an album to Facebook through iPhoto, the photos publish fine with enhancements intact.
    What's going on?

The secret is to repair or rebuild the damaged library.
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

  • Photos won't sync with iPhone

    Hi there,
I often have the situation where the sync on my (1st gen) iPhone will fail when trying to copy photos to the iPhone - the error says that it has failed as there is not enough free space on the device.
The phone and iTunes both report approximately 100MB free space, more than enough for the few photos (all scaled down to 800x600 anyway!) to fit on.
I have tried deleting all the photos off the iPhone and re-syncing and that still fails.
On the odd occasion it will work!
I can fill up my iPhone with video/music (i.e. take it to zero k free space) and I USED to be able to do this with photos, but can no longer do it.
I am using iTunes 8.2.1 on OS-X (10.5.7). I'm using iPhone 3.0 software on the iPhone
I have a folder called 'iPhone photos' and folders in that with all the photos I want to copy. All these photos are re-sized to 800x600. I use the 'select folders' option to select which folders I want to sync. There doesn't appear to be a specific folder that causes/resolves this problem.
    Any ideas?

  • PHOTOS WON'T SYNC TO COMPUTER

My iPhone 3G will not show up in iPhoto on either my desktop Mac or my Mac laptop. I have no trouble syncing music and everything else through iTunes, but I can't sync the photos I take with my phone to my computer. Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this? I have searched all the Mac help pages and I can't find anything except a suggestion to take off my passcode lock and it still doesn't work without a code.

I agree is there a known issue on the PC side, I have deleted all pictures off the i-phone, deleted the itunes/apple software and re-installed. took a picture with the phone reset the sync up deleted the ipod photo cache and I still can not get photos off the iphone in camera role to the PC.

  • HT1386 entourage contact photos won't sync with iphone

I use Entourage for my contacts, email and calendar, the version I use is part of Microsoft Office for Mac 2008, Entourage version 12.3.3 on a MacBook Pro, using Snow Leopard, OS 10.6.3, and I'm trying to sync my Entourage contacts with their corresponding photos for each contact to my iphone 4s OS 5.1.1 The contacts sync but the contact photos did not. I also use FileMaker Pro To Go and managed to sync that with my FM desktop version which has photos that correspond to their contacts and that synced contacts with photos to the iphone without any problems. Does anyone have any solution ideas? has anyone experienced this same problem?

Nope. The only thing I can suggest is disregard the photo issue with the sync. I looked up the issue on Google and some other people were having the same issue with Entourage. I checked Microsoft forums for it but nothing was there.
Other posts indicated that it was because entourage uses a different data entry set for the user photos, which iOS does not use.

  • An unknown error occurred (-50). Videos/Photos won't sync! HELP!!

I have been getting this error ever since i updated to iTunes 7. I can update my music files just fine, but I can't put my podcasts, photos, or movies onto my ipod. I have tried restoring it, which didn't do anything except erase all the photos and movies i had on before. I am completely up to date with the ipod and itunes software. Can someone tell me how to fix this?
Oh, and I also get the "disk cannot be read from or written to" error every once in a while, usually when I'm trying to put on the videos or photos. It's not usually a problem, though I don't know why it's still showing the error. I've tried switching USB ports, and my computer updates are up to date so I'm not sure what the problem is. I am aware of the article on this problem as well.
    Thanks for your help!

  • My Iphone won't back up to Icloud anymore and My photos won't sync

For some reason I can't get my phone to back up to icloud or my photos to show up on my Mac photo stream. My phone is connected to wifi and plugged in to the power. What should i do?

If your back up continually fails, you might try turning off back up on your mobile device (settings > iCloud > storage & backup) and then deleting the backup file from iCloud by swiping the backup file on the mobile device (settings > iCloud > storage & backup > manage…) and then turning back up on again.
Being able to back up to the cloud can be very useful, especially if you don't have access to a computer or have infrequent access to one, however unless you specifically need to use iCloud for back up, you will find backing up to iTunes significantly more convenient and possibly more reliable.

  • 60 gig iPod Photo won't sync

I have a 60 gig iPod Photo that has stopped being recognized by the computer. I tried a new USB cable. Sometimes it will charge when connected to the computer, sometimes not. It will charge when plugged in to 12V source. I have tried it on more than one Mac, but no dice. Any suggestions/help would be appreciated. And yes, we have tried the reset several times!

Since you tried it on multiple Macs with a different cable, you've mostly eliminated the +bad docking cable+, +bad USB port+, and +something wrong with the Mac's system+ possibilities.
Question: When you have it connected to the power adapter, does it operate properly as an iPod? So does it display its screen menu and play songs?
If it does, then the hard drive is probably OK and not the problem. The problem may be that the dock connector on the iPod side has become worn or otherwise damaged. There are many pins on the connector, so it is possible for it to charge yet not connect for data.
If it does not work as an iPod (play music), for iPods with a hard drive, the hard drive is the most common failure point. So it is possible that the hard drive in your iPod has become faulty. Other possibilities are problem on the logic board and problem in the connection between the logic board and hard drive.
If the iPod does not get recognized by Disk Utility, the only other idea I can think of is to open it up. You can try disconnecting the battery and see if it connects to the Mac with no battery. You can try disconnecting the hard drive, inspecting the two connection points between the hard drive and logic board, and reconnecting.
    Here is a helpful guide.
    http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/iPod/iPod-4th-Generation/93
When opening the 4G iPod, it is easiest to start from the seam at the top end, because there are no clips there. Be careful at the top left corner (looking at the iPod from the front) because there is a delicate ribbon cable there connecting the two halves of the case. You do not want to yank it open at that corner. If possible, leave that connection alone; it can easily get damaged when trying to disconnecting the ribbon cable. You should be able to lay the iPod open, like a book, from the right side.
Be sure to use plastic tools to open the iPod. Metal tools will damage the case.
