My photos won't sync to my mac

I didn't have problems before but now, my iPhone won't transfer my photo's to my MAC and it did before.  If I want them to transfer I have to use the wire.
Patty

Letting us know what exactly is happening, or not, would help greatly.  I am having visions of your parrot chewing through your sync cable as a possible reason.
Any exact error messsages (quote them directly)?
Which model phone?
In addition to upgrading your computer operating system did you also update your iTunes software to the newest version?

Have you tried resetting your device: Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Once the "Slide to Unlock" screen redisplays, see if your issue is resolved.

  • TS1591 My ipod classic (80gb) won't sync with my mac & itunes. How can i fix this without losing all my data? (ie. music, photos, video)

My ipod classic is still working, its not frozen or anything. It just won't sync up with my macbook and itunes. I recently realized that I had previously connected it to a PC just to charge it then it when i tried to connect it to my mac, it wouldn't sync up. Can someone help me figure this out? I don't want to lose all of my data though, like music, photos, or videos. Any help is appreciated! Thank you for your time!

okay, I don't know about the rest, but about the songs never actually loading onto your iPod, I found in another discussion how to fix that. I'm using Windows 7, so I don't know if the steps are the same, but the end result is the same. So go into your Start menu, then into accessories, right click 'Command Prompt' and click 'Run as administrator'. Then type in the following: netsh winsock reset then press Enter. After a few seconds it should tell you to to restart your computer for changes to take effect. Restart your computer, then restart iTunes, then everything should be working fine. It still takes forever sometimes to update the iPod, but eventually it will work. I've had to do this multiple times, so I'd suggest copying & pasting this solution into a notepad or Word document and saving it on your computer, so you don't have to go through the discussions again to find it. This tends to happen to me nearly every day unfortunately Hope this fixes that problem, but I'm not having any of the other problems fortunately, except for removing the artwork of the songs it updates without me asking it too. PS I think my problem may be with iOS 5, because iTunes 10.5 came out before iOS 5, and I think everything was fine before I updated my iPod, but I really don't know where the problem lies

  • IPod touch 3rd generation won't sync with my mac

I have a 3rd gen iPod touch that I haven't used in years. I recently found it and tried to sync it with my mac to get the photos off of it but it won't sync. It comes up in iTunes and iPhoto but won't load.

What do yo mean by "but won't load."?
Since the 3G iPod does not have cameras, the only way to get phots on the the iPod is to:
    - Sync them to the iPod
    - Save them to the iPod like saving an email attachment. Those would be in the Saved Photos album
To get synced phtos from an iPod back to a computer you need a third-part program like PhoneView or TouchCopy.
Saved photos are imported from the iPod via iPhoto, Image Capture or similar program

  • How do i delete my photos that I synced from my mac

I am trying to delete the photos from my iphone that were accidentally synced from my MAC, I was trying to sync my photos from my iphone to my computer but instead the opposite happened, what do I do?

If you synced photos from your computer to your phone using iTunes, you delete them from the phone the same way. After connecting your phone to the computer and opening iTunes, select the Photos page in iTunes and then remove the checkmark in front of "Sync Photos From" to delete all previously synced photos from the phone or change the selection of folders/albums to be synced if you only want to delete some. Each time you sync, iTunes sets the non-Camera Roll photos on the phone to match the current iTunes settings.

  • Photos won't sync: "Cannot be displayed on your iPod"

Many of my photos will no longer sync from iTunes (Aperture photos) on my Macbook to my iPod Touch. For example, out of 250 photos, only 2 sync.
    iTunes says:
"Some of your photos, including the photo "xxxx.jpg", were not copied
to the iPod "Leo's iPod Touch" because they cannot be displayed on your iPod."
These same photos synced fine from iPhoto, but awhile ago I switched to Aperture. I also recently installed Lion.
Any idea what can be done to rectify this? Thanks.

Fixed, by deleting the iPod Photo Cache folders in both the iPhoto and Aperture libraries.

  • Lots of photos won't sync - error of no free space

    Hi There,
I have an 8GB original iPhone.
When syncing, it frequently fails to copy photos saying
"No photos were copied to the iPhone "iPhone" because there is not enough free space on the iPhone to hold your photos and albums"
Now, all my photos for syncing are re-sized to 800x600 so are pretty small (the iTunes optimisation actually gives a bigger file size). After my current sync iTunes reports 262.3MB free - MORE than enough for the photos left to sync.
I've tried a multitude of things, including
    - deleting all the photos off the phone and starting again
    - clearing the iPhone photo cache folder
    - performing a full restore of the iPhone OS
The only thing that does appear to work is deleting videos, but then I still end up with the space for videos, but if I put them on there it deletes the photos. I can fill up the entire disc with video/music (iTunes allows that), but not photos.
I've seen some others are having this problem, but not seen a solution.
    Any thoughts?
    Please help,
    James

    Hi,
But if you had 60MB of photos and 110MB of free space, you shouldn't need to remove any apps?? At the very least it should copy as many as it can to use up all the free space?
A pretty annoying bug in iTunes sync??
I've also found that removing videos will allow me to copy the photos, but the annoying thing is that it's reporting enough space so that I SHOULD be able to have my photos AND videos AND apps - but it makes me chose so that it can keep free space...
BTW, I can fill up ALL the free space with video, but NOT with photos...!
Anyone got this to work properly at all??

  • My Iphone won't back up to Icloud anymore and My photos won't sync

For some reason I can't get my phone to back up to icloud or my photos to show up on my Mac photo stream. My phone is connected to wifi and plugged in to the power. What should i do?

If your back up continually fails, you might try turning off back up on your mobile device (settings > iCloud > storage & backup) and then deleting the backup file from iCloud by swiping the backup file on the mobile device (settings > iCloud > storage & backup > manage…) and then turning back up on again.
Being able to back up to the cloud can be very useful, especially if you don't have access to a computer or have infrequent access to one, however unless you specifically need to use iCloud for back up, you will find backing up to iTunes significantly more convenient and possibly more reliable.

  • Updated apps won't sync to my mac iTunes

    Hey Guys,
I have recently updated my MBP to a MBP retina and I used to be able to auto sync all the apps that I update on my iPhone 5s or iPod 5th gen or iPad air to my iTunes but ever since i started using MBP retina it won’t work anymore. I can’t possibly download the same apps on each device just because the updated apps won’t sync to my iTunes, I used to do all the updates on one device and then sync everything to my iTunes and then sync my other devices to my iTunes and then I would have the same updated apps on each device and in my iTunes,
    Could someone please help me?
    I’m going crazy here…

You might try Resetting All Settings, Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings and then reset as a new phone.
This will not erase any of your content but it sets the phone back to factory defaults on everything.
Worst case you may need to restore the phone form iTunes as a new phone and then restore from a back up to get your content back on your phone.

  • IOS 6.1.3 photo won't sync(from iTunes iPad/iPhone) to  after update

After update both my iPad and iPhone to 6.1.3 a few days ago, I just found that both devices doesn't have anything in the Photos app! I have a lot of product sample pictures in a few albums, but just can't get them sync to the device anymore! When the sycn started, I can see the albums got created on the device, and the number of pictures need to be sync... it display "Syncing 0 of 1391", after maybe 1 minute, it stopped, nothing get sync.
I only select the albums I want in iTunes to sync, no event selected... that work perfectly fine before until this update.
No difference if wire or wifi.
My wife's iphone got different issue. She sync to her own iMac, when select a few events, all pictures all sync to the phone, but no events created! so all photos all show up in the "Photos", but nothing in "Events".
Just found that if I select 1 event, I can sync 1 album... but when I try the second time, it didn't work again!. After a lot of combinations of "events" and "albums" selections and many syncs, I finally got the pictures I want to my devices... by the behaviors are very unpredicatable, something definiatelly broken here!
    Anybody see similare issues?

YES!  Updated to 6.1.3 and can't sync at all.  Either by cable, bluetooth, or wifi.  My mac won't recognize my iphone at all.  Doesn't even show up in finder.  Can't sync anything from iTunes as iTunes won't recognize my iPhone either.

  • I turned off iCloud Photo Library and switched it back on, and now it says my photos won't fit on my Mac.

I migrated my iPhoto Library to the new Photos app with no problem, and when it finished migrating, I switched on iCloud Photo Library, again with no problem. My entire photo library uploaded, and I chose to keep the originals stored on my Mac.
This all went according to plan, but I just switched iCloud Photo Library off, and then on again, and now it says that the "full-resolution photos and videos stored in iCloud will not fit on this Mac." This is can't be the case, because the full-resolution files are already on my mac, that's where they came from before I even uploaded them to the cloud. It seems like it's trying to download them all again, without recognizing that the same photos that are in the cloud, are already on my Mac.
Any advice on how I can solve this?

You may not really be connected to your WiFi network.
Your router may not have given your iPad a valid IP address. Go to Settings > Wifi > your network name and touch the ">" to the right to see the network details. If the IP address starts with 169 or is blank then your router didn't provide an IP address and you won't be able to access the Internet.
Sometimes the fix can be as simple as restarting your router (remove power for 30 seconds and restart). Next, reset network settings on your iPad (Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings) and then attempt to connect. In other cases it might be necessary to update the router's firmware with the latest from the manufacturer's support web pages.

  • Mail won't sync with my .mac account - won't accept password

I have a MacBook running the OS X 10.6.8.  Recently I have found that I cannot sync my Mail with my .mac account.  I can log on through the internet to iCloud and read emails (I know my password is valid), but when I try to get them synced to my Mail account it won't accept the password.  It looks like this may be a conflict with Mail not being updated to iCloud, but I am unsure.  I have not found an update that will update the Mail to link with iCloud.  My computer is also not new enough to update to the new Lion OS.  Am I stuck?  This has been very discouraging and I have been wasting hours of valuable time trying to figure out how to fix this.

Did you turn on iCloud Drive by any chance? If so, then until Yosemite comes out, you won't be able to sync your documents and data to your Mac:

  • My photos won't sync with iCloud beta

I have 306 photos on my iPhone 6+. After turning on iCloud Photo Library (Beta) on my iPad Air, I now have 306 photos on it. (So far, so good.) But I can't get the photos to sync with beta.icloud.com. I tried deleting some photos at beta.icloud.com and they were deleted on my iPhone and iPad. But it won't work the other way around. I have 402 photos on beta.icloud.com, and the 6 new photos I took this afternoon with my iPhone won't upload there, although they should up on my iPad. I tried restarting my Macbook Pro and iPhone and still no go. Any solutions? Thanks. (I'm using 8.1 on both devices and Yosemite on my MacBook Pro.)
