My Photoshop cs6 makes every font oblique

Hi guys!
As said, my Photoshop makes every font oblique. Not italic, but oblique. So that to make the text straight I have to skew it.
Does anybody know why this happens and how do I solve it?
Thanks!
Francesca

  • Photoshop CS6 unusable - repeated font warnings - anyone else?

I've been using photoshop CS5.1 for a long time with no problems. I upgraded to CS6 which i'm finding unusable due to repeated font warnings.  I get interminable dialog boxes appearing over and over: "Adobe Photoshop CS6.app wants to use the font “xxxxxxx” that was downloaded from the Internet. Allow Adobe Photoshop CS6.app to use this font?"
It starts and stops doing this as i attempt to use PS CS6, and it's not just asking about fonts that are used in the document i have open - it does it for a huge list of fonts. And if i click 'Allow' AND 'don't ask me again for this font' it doesn't remember my choice and will ask again.
Anyone know how to stop it doing this?! I have googled for an answer to no avail.
    Thanks

Here's my solution for CS6 on OSX 10.6.8 using Font Book (so far it's worked!)
From doing some digging around > it's bad practice, supposedly, to install fonts from an external drive
    - uninstall user fonts
    - copy fonts to folder on local drive
    - reinstall from local folder
... since this problem only occured after doing a system re-install and I did "add" my fonts to Font Book via an USB drive, I did what was reccomended ... I'm not sure who's problem it is? Font Book?... but it worked.

  • Photoshop CS6 make downgrade to CS5.5 ?

THE PRODUCTS ADOBE CS6 MAKE DOWNGRADE TO CS 5.5 ? THANKS!

No, there are no downgrades. You only get access to older versions if you boughte them back then or are part of a volume licensing program that allows this.

  • Photoshop CS6 crashes every few minutes!

    Hi,
since I´ve installed Photoshop CS6 from the cloud with all the latest updates, the program crashes all day long, its really frustrating... I´ve never had similar issues with CS5 before.
Can anyone please help, are there any known issues with the new version? I´m running out of memory when opening a file (no matter how big!) and the program freezes, doesn´t respond any more.

I have the latest version, the report posted above shows the version after the first install, without any update.
@Chris: I couldn´t find any detailed error report from the windows event viewer, except this one:

How do I make it bigger?  When you render it to photoshop you have to zoom in to see it.

I rendered the measurements to Photoshop but when you do it brings them in so small
you can't read any of the measurements.  Anyway to increase this font so you can read it?

  • Photoshop CS6 Font problems

I am experiencing an intermittent problem in Photoshop CS6. I have over 500 fonts loaded on my IMac. I'll be working on a project file and when I go to add text, the drop down menu will only show about a third of my fonts instead of showing the complete list. The only way to correct this problem is to shut down Photoshop and reboot my computer.   Most of the time this will give me a menu showing all of the fonts. I have had this Mac for over two yeas and have not had such a problem while using CS5. Is this a bug in Photoshop or do I have other issues ? I have downloaded the latest Photoshop updates.
Equipment: IMac 27 with 3.06 dual core processor and 12 gig of ram. I am running Os 10.6.8.
As this is happening more frequently and has become very frustrating, any help would be appreciated.

Since you already said that you have downloaded the latest Photoshop upgrades (http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates  ), Then I will forward you to the next possible solution.
This would be to turn font preview off in Photoshop's preferences:
    In Photoshop CS6:
Choose Type > Font Preview Size.
    Select None.
Another solution is to turn off the following fonts:
The following fonts are known to cause problems when used in Photoshop:
    Bustle (Mac OS only)
    21kannmbn_ttf
    GURAKH_S.TTF
    JH_TITLES.TTF
    SCREEN__.TTF
    SEVESBRG.TTF
    SF Tattle Tales Condensed.ttF
    ZEROGEBI.TTF
    Zippy.ttf
Haettenschweiler (Photoshop CS4 when run as a 64-bit application on Windows only)
Finally,  another option is to Validate all the fonts through the Font Book Mac Os Application:
If you have a third-party font management program, such as Suitcase Fusion 2, there is sometimes a tool in your application that validates fonts. (For example, Font Doctor ships as a part of Suitcase Fusion 2.) Use this type of application as your first choice.
If you use a tool to validate your fonts, but the problem recurs, it's possible that the tool did not successfully validate your fonts. In this case, follow the steps in Solution 4 below to check for damaged fonts and to reset your font caches.
To validate your fonts through Font Book:
    Choose Applications > Font Book.
Choose All Fonts in the Collection column.
Select the top most font in the Font column.
Use the Down Arrow on the keyboard to select the first font, then hold the key down to scroll through all your fonts.
If Font Book crashes, restart Font Book, and scroll through the fonts one by one to determine which font caused the crash.
If you are using Mac OS X (10.5.x), Ctrl-click on any fonts that are problematic, and choose to Disable that font family.
If you are using Mac OS X (10.6.x), Ctrl-click on any fonts that are problematic, and choose to Remove that font family.
I grabbed all these from Adobe Help, which offer a few other options you might want to explore if these don't help you.

Please Respond if you cant find the resolution above or in the Adobe Help page that I posted above.

  • Photoshop CS6 issue with shortcuts and my keyboard after upgrade from CS5

I recently upgraded from CS5 Extended to CS6 Extended on my Mac (Mavericks), but installed it in English instead of German this time. I transferred most of my presets just fine, but none of the keyboard shortcuts were working. All I got was an unequal sign for all shortcuts and even manually changing them didn't get them to work. I found a few discussions about this issue and ended up adding a German keyboard, as I am always on the Romaji setting of my Kotoeri (Japanese) keyboard. That seemed to solve the issue, but only if I change to the German keyboard before opening Photoshop. Shortcuts don't work in CS5 anymore either unless I do. Sometimes the shortcuts also stop working a while after I change back to the Kotoeri keyboard.
Now I would like to know if there is any way to get around this issue. Isn't there a way to get my shortcuts working again without constantly having to change keyboards? I much prefer the Kotoeri one since the icon for the German keyboard in my menu bar looks extremely obnoxious, in my opinion. It's mostly a cosmetic thing to me, but I would love to get everything back to the way it was before.
I'd much appreciate any advice or help.

I am having a similar problem. Just upgraded to Apple Yosemite and all none of my keyboard shortcuts are working in a clean install of Photoshop CS6. Every menu item has some form of the ≠ sign. I've trashed the .plist file, rebuilt permissions, etc. Even basic keyboard commands, like Command-N for NEW or Command-Q for QUIT do not work. In fact, many don't show up in the menu at all. I don't have this issue in InDesign CS6 or Illustrator CS6. Every once in awhile, maybe 1 time out of 20, menus and keyboard shortcuts work properly, but I can't find any pattern.

  • Photoshop CS6 keeps flickering!

    Hi,
I have recently fired up Photoshop CS6, I've not owned it for that long, it was purchased with the intention to upload some design work to my website.
This is the issue that I'm encountering, brushes in Photoshop CS6 make my screen flicker in the rectangular area across the entire screen from the cursors present position to the bottom of the screen.
I have switched my graphic card off and then back on, I have also altered the resolution of the screen to the next highest possible setting, this provides short-term relief. With any luck this isn't a hardware issue, but a drivers/software one.
I'm currently using an Apple MacBook Pro - Core i5 2.53 GHz - 4 GB Ram
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Jenny

If the crash started right after you added RAM, it could be a bad Ram dimm. You can try this - change the amount of RAM in Photoshop to 4G, this should stop Photoshop from using the higher ram. If it doesn't crash, it's probably the ram. Or run a diagnostic app. You don't say when it crashes, what you're doing when it crashes - it there a pattern? Did it ever work on this computer? Did it work on your previous computer? Without a lot of data, it could be related to the new computer... What OS version? Did you recently update it? Have you updated Photoshop to the most recent update?
Do you have any plug-ins loaded? Try restarting Photoshop, and immediately press & hold the shfit key to turn off plug-ins.

  • How do you make a .ico file in Photoshop CS6?

I used to use a plugin in previous versions, but the file formats sub-directory is missing from the plugins directory. See screenshot :
Surely this should be possible in CS6 (extended even) straight out of the box given that every web developer on the planet needs to make loads of these ...

I read this thread today to try and place the .ICO plugin in the plugins folder.
It didn't work for me either. However.... I found for some reason when I installed CS6 on to my 64bit PC.... it has installed it in two different places.
The first place I tried was in the [Progam Files x86] - seems the right place...right?  Not so, for some reason.
Whereas... I found a Photoshop CS6 file in [Program Files] folder too. Popped the plugin in there.... and it worked.
Not sure why I have two installs...? but hey it works.
Cheers to those with useful comments.
    #rolleyes at those who didn't.
    Thanks folks.

    David.

Paragraph breaks are good for readability. ;-)
Have you noticed any difference between your MacBook and others at the Apple store? Wondering whether this is a configurable setting at the system level, i.e., DPI.
You can default Firefox to a larger zoom level to avoid having to zoom every page. You'll still be able to adjust the size for individual sites as needed. It sounds as though you are aware of these add-ons:
    * Default FullZoom Level: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/default-fullzoom-level/
    * NoSquint: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/nosquint/
There are some discussions about changing coming in Firefox 22 (I think) to address higher density displays like the Retina display. So perhaps there will be a built-in setting to address this in the future.

  • Font / text edit problem in photoshop CS6

    Hi there,
I have a strange text edit problem in Photoshop CS6 running on Mavericks.
Every time I use the text-tool in PS, write a sentence, mark it and change something like color, font size etc., the marked text vanishes.
I have to "undo" the last step and the changed text appears again.
    Every time!
I have a clean installed CS6 with no plugins and no other than system fonts installed.
Everything on a new Mac Pro with OS X 10.9.5
    Any clues? Thanks.

Do you have the latest updates for photoshop cs6?
You can use Help>Updates from within photoshop cs6 to check if there are any available.
Also, if you go to Help>System Info from within photoshop cs6, you can see the Photoshop Version in the top line.
You should be on version 13.0.6
See if turning off Dictation solves the issue.
Go to System Preferences ---> Dictation and Speech -----> select OFF radio button .

  • Font not available in Photoshop CS6 or Illustrator CS6 (Mac)

I have installed the Frutiger font family in the font library. It appears in the drop-down menu in InDesign, but not Photoshop or Illustrator. How can I make the font available in these programs?

It’s a ttf file – Frutiger. I’ve managed to get it into InDesign, but not Photoshop or Illustrator. Always seem to have problems with this font!
