My Photoshop CS6 won't make new files or open any???
Okay, I just downloaded it. I tried clicking new and put in the size and stuff and this happens...
Okay. It says it's there, yes?
No. It won't show my blank canvas.
Now if I click on the 'Untitled-1 etc..' and hold it and stuff you can see the canvas, but the second I let it go. It disappears. The same thing goes with opening files. I open them. The thing says its there, but it won't show it. Why does this keep happened? I re-installed it, but still happens.
OK, that means that the problem was with your video card driver.
Have you updated your video card driver from the GPU maker's website recently? (you should)

PSE11-Can't Make New Files and Opening Old Files
I've had PSE11 for a couple of months now and it was working fine about two days ago when i last used it. But today when I opened it up it started to refuse to do anything file related. It won't let me create a new file and it won't let me open any files.
With the new files I cant even get the dialouge box to pop up to select a size of the file and name. It just runs processes for a couple of seconds and than nothing.
And with the open files I can't get it to open anything. It won't open pictures, photoshop files, etc. It just sits there like I never gave it a command.
I all ready checked to make sure the program was up to date. Which it is so I'm not sure what is causing this problem.Hey so it magically started working again for a while on its own. I did nothing to it, it just decided to start working randomly. And now its back to not working again. I didn't mess with anything. I didn't even install anything not even a Windows update. It just started working again. And then it stopped just as quickly as it started.
Though now I can at least get the open command to pop up. But I can't get the actual photos to open or it to do anything beyond that. -
Photoshop CS6 won't open new or existing files
I've had Photoshop CS6 for several months now and never had any problems. Until today; I can no longer open files or create a new one using either method: (File -> New) or (File -> Open). I restarted my computer this afternoon and am wondering if an update took place on my system. From what I've read in these forums, that's usually the culprit.

Thanks!After posting the question, I realized that NT is just the family of OS (Windows 8.1). I seemed to have solved my problem... for now. I went to startup programs and disabled a couple of programs from opening on start. They were related to the Spoon.net application. After restarting, things seem to working fine again.
I hope this at least helps someone else. -
I am getting this message when importing stills into photoshop CS6 Extended to make a time lapse video. I have watched many tutorials and follow them but always get stuck at this point. I have tried various formats and sizes TIFF JPEG etc. The files are numerical sequenced in one folder.

Yes that is the one I watched and that's my workflow when I go to Layer, Video Layer, New Layer from file that,s when this message comes up. I had a thought but haven't tried it yet, my settings open images in 16 bit maybe I should change back to 8 bit, I'll let you know. -

Photoshop cs6 won't allow me to highlight my existing text layers. I select the text tool and the text layer I want to edit, hover over text and each time I attempto to edit a new layer is created. Does anyone have experience with this problem?

Remember if you have trouble with a software issue it is the software and not caused by the Mac you are using
Many users simply don't remember when you upgrade software you normally have to go to 3rd party web sites and update software as well.

Does Photoshop CS6 support Nikon D810 raw files? Photoshop won't allow me to open the raw files and Bridge won't display the files either. I tried to download the camera raw plug-in 8.6 but read somewhere that Photoshop CS6 doesn't support it? HELP!!!
It should. The D810 had support since version 8.6. (A relative newcomer.) Did you use Help > Updates on the menu bar?
Take note that the updates for Camera Raw in CS6 only supports updates for cameras and nothing more. You won't get any of the new features inherent in the versions for Photoshop CC (like the filter brush in the Graduated Filter). -
I just upgraded to Photoshop cs6 so that my new camera (Nikon D7100) would work in Camera Raw (I was told that the Camera Raw update 8.3, which is available for CS6, included this camera). However, it will not download from the "Update" option in CS6. I have tried over 10 times - it just says update is not working. and I cannot find an alternate way of downloading this file. So I still can use my camera, even thought I paid to upgrade. HELP please.
What OS do you have? You say you have explained what you had (computer/opsys) but I honestly don't see it here. If you had mentioned that my advice would have been different; I believe you can only upgrade as far as Camera Raw 8.3 on an older Windows system. There is more information here (look specifically for the "Revert to 8.3 ..." titles).

What you've done/written in your last post confuses things further, unfortunately. Photoshop 13.1 is strictly a Creative Cloud version. The highest you can go is Photoshop CS6 13.0.1.3 with perpetual license.
And as far as I can recall, that version can work on Windows back to XP:

I don't think you're out of luck, but you seem to be leaping into doing things without having the full story, and are jumping to conclusions a bit too quickly.
Here's what I suggest you try:
1. Remove Photoshop entirely with the Creative Suite Removal Tool:
Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
2. Install Photoshop CS6 from your original media or from here:
Download CS6 products
3. Update the application using its own Help - Updates process. That really should get you the latest Camera Raw version that will work. If that does not bring you a Camera Raw that works with your Nikon, use the "Revert to 8.3" instructions above.

Error message Photoshop CS6 won't start in Windows 7
I am unable to start Photoshop in Windows 7 (64 bit Home Premium). I gegt an error message saying Photoshop CS6 won't start and telling me to close the program. Is this a common problem and is there a solution? I have tried opening the program in safe mode and tried a clean boot all without success.

HDD crash Photoshop CS6 won't start - scratch disk error
The disk I used for the Photoshop scratch files crashed. Now Photoshop CS6 won't start.
Press and hold Ctrl+Alt or Cmd+Opt, start Photoshop and select a different disk.

Cannot Create New File or Open File in Photoshop CC 2014
I recently upgraded my installation of Premiere Pro to CC 2014, after which my Photoshop install starting acting up. The application will load, but when I try to create a new file or open a file, I get the spinning beach ball (on a mac.) I'm running Photoshop CC 2014 on a Macbook Pro with ver 10.9.4 Mavericks. I cannot get Premiere to load at all, btw, but that isn't my primary concern at this point.
Please help. Thanks!Okay, so I uninstalled Premiere Pro CC 2014 and my Photoshop installation went back to working normally. Must be an issue with the updated Premiere. I will try and redownload it at a later date to see if it's more stable.

I doubt you need anything special. The files should open without conversion. You can double check with Adobe.

Go to Select > Color Range to sample the unwanted color(s) in your image.
Go to Image > Adjustments > Replace Color. Adjust sliders for Hue/Saturation/Lightness.
