Please try couple of probable solutions as mentioned below:
Solution 1:
1. Close Elements.
2. Launch the Photoshop Elements Welcome Screen and hold down ctrl + alt + shift as you click Editor.
3. Continue to hold the keys until you see a message box asking if you want to delete Photoshop Elements settings file; click Yes. Elements will open with default preferences.
Solution 2: In case any network printer is attached try to launch without network or printer uninstall or make different printer as default.
Solution 3: Try launching with anti-virus off or removing PSE from conflicting list.
Solution 4:
On the drive on which you have installed PSE,on my machine it is on C:
Go to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 10\Locales\<locale>\Plug-Ins\Import-Exportand you will find twain plug-in. Remove that plug-in from that location and copy it somewhere else.
Now launch PSE and check if it works.

Have you tried "Run" instead of "Save?"
Do you have anti-virus software on the PC? If you do, try disabling the anti-virus for just 15minutes to allow the download to finish.

I am having the same problem, too. I asked the Geek Squad at Best Buy and he said it was a problem with protected songs and that I needed to change how the song was converted. I tried that but I received an error message saying because it was a protected song I could not change the conversion. The Geek Squad told me if that didn't work to contact iTunes about possibly re-downloading the song at no charge since I have paid for it once. How do you contact iTunes and either speak with or correspond through support? All I can find is tutorials and discussion pages that are no help. I'm becoming so frustrated I'm about to take my ipod and get my money back!

Photoshop Elements 6 Freezing, I need help, please.
I got the program along with the Wacom Tablet I got, not too long back.
It worked for a while, but then started freezing at random moments.
But now, I can never open it without it freezing about 30 seconds after launch.
I checked the FAQ's and Trouble-Shooting section, but everything seems in order.
I just updated my Mac (10.5.6) and I have high enough Ram.
It's not the disk and I haven't messed with the folder it came in since I installed it.
(Didn't touch it then either)
Oh, and I have updated the program itself to the latest udate I can get.
The only thing I haven't tryed is Uninstall and reinstall it.
This program was really helpful when I could use it, and I would love to be able to use it again.

Why? Why not 10.5.8?
In any case, go to your username>library>preferences and delete:
com.adobe.Photoshop.Elements.plist
Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 paths
Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 settings
Opera preferences (if you have it)
Repair permissions and try again. If it still crashes to go Applications>Adobe Photoshop Elements 6>Plug-ins>import/export and delete the adobe TWAIN driver (note that if you have an epson scanner it may not work properly after doing this). -
I can't get my photos and albums to migrate from PS Elements 9 to PS Elements 12. Can you help?
Okay, I was able to move my photo folders, but would welcome help on how to move the albums.

Dvd play stops suddenly - computer freezes- can you help?
I put in the dvd - it plays for maybe 15 minutes and all is well and suddenly whole computer is frozen up - can get back to anything so must push and hold power button to manually shut it down. What is wrong? Is my drive going or is it a software issue? Please advise!
Hi, and welcome to Apple Discussions.
Try booting into Safe Mode. This will take quite awhile longer than a normal startup because it does a file check and repair of the hard disk.
You will see your normal desktop. Once completely started up in Safe Mode, restart normally, and go to Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility. Select the named boot volume in the left sidebar ("Macintosh HD" unless you've renamed it). Repair permissions on it.
See if a little hard drive maintenance helps things out.
(Every time you have to do a forced shutdown instead of a normal one as you have been having to do when the system freezes, there is a chance of hard drive damage and you should repair the hard drive, either by booting into Safe Mode OR by starting up from the Mac OS X Install Disc by inserting the disc and restarting your computer, holding down the C key as the startup chime is ending. Then choose Installer > Open Disk Utility and select the hard drive in the left column. Choose the First Aid tab. Click Repair Disk to test and repair the hard drive.
Once you have repaired the hard drive with either Safe Mode or the Install disc's Disk Utility, then start up normally and repair permissions from Disk Utility in the Utilities folder on the hard drive.) -
Clunk Clunk Freeze Can You Help?
My Mac is almost 3 years old. I have never dropped it and have had zero problems with it, until recently. I'll be online running a flash movie, or playing a flash game and all the sudden the computer makes an ugly noise followed by a loud CLUNK CLUNK CLUNK, then the pinwheel comes up. As soon as this happened I turned the computer off. It restarted fine, then about 15 mins later it repeated. Then i picked up the powerbook and it was pretty warm (even though it is on a flat hard surface)
I read the CLUNK could be the hard drive but I downloaded TechTool Deluxe and did the full scan and the hard drive passed everything.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
ThanksThe clunk is almost certainly the hard drive. Software diagnostic tools usually won't pick it up, but if I were you, I'd make good backups, and consider purchasing a new hard drive for it.

I bought photoshop elements 8 a few years ago. I had to reinstall my computer, and I can't find this PSE 8 on Adobe. Only the 12 is available, but I've paid a serial for the 8. Can you help me please ?

I cannot download updates to Photoshop Elements 9. I get an error message that my serial number is not recognized or eligible. Can you help with this?

Which operating system are you running on?
What updates are you trying to download?
The last update was 9.0.3 - check by loading the editor and going to Help -> About Photoshop Elements
The last supported Camera raw is ACR 6.5 - check by loading the editor and going to Help -> About Plug-ins -> Camera Raw
Do you have a reason to update?

Yes, it works. Download the trial and see for yourself. Adobe never updates the system requirements after any version is released, so that is what was available last Sept. when PSE 13 was released.

Hi Shaun,
Elements 6 is a legacy product and the download is not available on Adobe's website.
Also check the configuration of your new machine, Elements 6 might not be compatible with that.
