My Photoshop has stopped working?

I recently upgraded my Macbook Pro with 2,2 GHz Intel Core i7 to the new OS Yosemite 10.10.
Next thing, Photoshop stops working. I have a Creative Suite CS5.1 with Illustrator, Indesign and Photoshop.
Now InDesign and Illustrator still works fine... but photoshop keeps giving me this message:
I have tried to restart and nothing seems to help.
Photoshop gives me no further details or information.
When I download a new installer for photoshop through this link: Download CS5.5 products, and I run the installer, it keeps telling me that my "license is not working for this product" (Which by the way is the same license key I have been using all along and still am using for the two other still working programs!?)
So I've kinda run out of options.
Anybody who can help me work around this and make it work again would be greatly appreciated!

I wish I could. But all that happens is that the PSD logo jumps in the dock, the "photoshop-is-now-launching" sorta graphic appears... and then this error message pops up. That's all to it.
Are you able to tell me where I can locate a crash log if there is any?

    Please help me - message: "Photoshop has stopped working" - know what to do ... I can not use the newly installed photoshop program.
    My problem is that as soon as (or about 5 seconds) after I opened Photoshop CC, I get an error message stating that "Photoshop has stopped working". I can not use my newly installed photoshop programs.
    I have just the "factory reset" my HP PC with Windows 7 operating system. I have updated everything to be updated in Windows and signed me for Adobe CC at Adobe.com. Now I have installed Photoshop CC, CC Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat Pro X1, ExtendScript Toolkit CC and Extention Manager CC.
    I have uninstalled and reinstalled photoshop to see if the program works for it - but no, it does not. I have also tried holding down the three keys Shift - Ctrl - Alt, In connection with that I open the program (I googled the problem and someone tipped off that there could be a solution to the problem) but unfortunately also without success.
    The thing is that all the other Adobe CC program works fully on the computer (InDesign, Illustator and pdf tool Acrobat Pro X1). They work flawlessly.
    What to do?

    About two weeks ago I downloaded Adobe CC for students, my problem is that photshop is not working. When I start the program i get the following message:"photoshop has stopped working and needs to be closed, windows will tell you if there is any solution in the future" I have tried to re-install it twice, and I just updated the program.

    Does this happen only with Photoshop CC or with other Adobe apps like InDesign CC & Illustrator CC?
    What version of PS CC do you use?
    Try updating to Win 8.1 and that should install all the required windows updates and then check the same.
    You still want to install the video card driver from the manufacturer website, as already suggested by Chris, to be double sure that you have the right GPU drivers installed.
    In case your PS still crash, check Event Viewer for the Faulty Module and let us know.

    Look for "Error" in red color and check the Application name and faulty module.

  • What happened?  Tried to open Elements 8 and error message says "Photoshop has stopped working."

    The Welcome screen somes up but then fades and error message says "Photoshop has stopped working."  Then Windows closes the program.
    I shut down the computer, waited, then did restart, clicked on PSE, and the same message came up again.  That was last night,  thought I might get a message this morning, but same thing happened again.  I'm trying to not panic - this is all new to me.
    Any help welcome!

    I am working with a new system running win 7 pro with all the latest updates.  I just purchased CS5.5 Web Premium and installed it.  DW and AI are working but I cannot get PS to stay up long enough to do anything at all before I get the "Photoshop has stopped working ... " message as described here for ID.  It sound very much like the same bug.  I have both the 64bit and the 32 bit versions and they both behave exactly the same.

    Well it could be the same problem.  In my case I now believe it was the nVidia driver, but went through hell getting it fixed.  In the process of updating all my system drivers I flashed the mobo BIOS and although that worked Win 7 decided it now had some new ideas about booting into a diff version of Windows. Got that fixed by disconnecting the SATA cables from 3 other drives so Windows would see the right one and doing Win 7 repair.  Then I uninstalled the nVidia and reinstalled (same version - I had upgraded this right away when I had problems!), but the last time I noticed a check box to do a clean install.  I checked for clean and after the driver reinstalled my Photoshop CS5.1 now appears to run perfectly
    Sorry I got into the ID pile.  A search on the problem put me here initially.  But just in case you have nVidia display cards, make sure you find that clean install check or it will keep whatever is the problem when you reinstall those drivers.

  • Creative Cloud Illustrator & Photoshop 'has stopped working' - 'windows is checking for a solution..

    Hello,
    Up until recently, Photoshop & Illustrator stopped working. When I would open the program it would begin to load and then come up with the message ' Adobe Photoshop has stopped working'
    After which there would be another message ' Windows is checking for  solution to the problem'
    and then finally ' A problem caused the program to stop working correctly, windows will lose the program and notify you if a solution is available.'
    Indesign on startup seems to load normally and is fine.

    This is the simplest fix, if you're still having a problem with it.  I had the same problem, am running Windows 8.1.  Just be sure to reboot after you copy the dll (dynamic link library) file indicated.
    Copy QTMovieWin.dll from:  C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
    to: C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
    Let me know if you have a problem.

    Do you have the latest  device  drivers installed for your Display adapter? What does the Windows 8 crash reports show for the CS6 crashes.  Were you able to get CS6 up long enough to install the CS6 updates.  CS6 is the buggiest version of Photoshop Adobe ever released  without the updates CS6 is not stable.   • Photoshop Has stopped working

    I have been trying to get PS and AI to run on my computer. but everytime I go to start the program it starts up but then I get a windows message saying that " adobe has stopped working and windows need to close it and look for a solution to the problem "but never comes up with one. I have very good hardware and a little more advanced knowledge of software and troubleshooting but this has got me stumped. I have uninsatlled reinstalled several times, now Painter 12 is having the same issue. Is it the OS update?
