My Photoshop update has been "finishing" for days...

I was alerted that a few of my CC applications should be updated, including Photoshop and Illustrator. I began the process, but it seems to have never finished. A week later Photoshop is still "finishing" and Illustrating is "waiting" to be updated. I have tried cancelling and trying again or just hitting "update all" and I have the same problem. Please advise

Tried to restore (which I was able to do in the past and was successful) and received an error saying something went wrong can not restore and went back to showing dead battery again. Hopefully it's been resolved by now - I have no idea how large each one of those files are. The progress bar tells you; FWIW, I only download one at a time - makes it easier and faster and you can choose to do the next one when you have time.

Not normal. You probably got a bad connection, but the update is not what you want. You are so far behind at Firefox 3.6.10 that even if the update worked you would still probably have to do more updates. With Mac OS X 10.4 you cannot go to Firefox 4.0, but you will want to go to the latest 3.6 version which is 3.6.17
Start at http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all-older.html ''(those with current systems can upgrade to 4.0.1 at http://www.mozilla.com for 4.0.1)''. At the completion of the download don't let the setup start Firefox for you, when the setup ends, start Firefox in your normal manner this way you will be less likely to create a new profile.
The extra startup pages are temporary -- read them. The next time Firefox comes up you should be back to starting with your normal home page.
Note: Firefox must be down once the install starts.
Close Firefox with File>Exit. Then make sure Firefox is not running --
On Windows: check the "Processes" tab in the Windows Task Manager.

Connecting to the update has been connecting for more than 6 hourand is still trying to connect when will it finish downloading the suggested update?s, why? This update has slowed me down way too much.

A window opened when I started that said " We strongly suggest that you update......" I did not want to but each time I turned my computer on the same window pops up with the "strongly suggest" and my computer began to run slower and stop lot. So I finally pressed the bar for more information..But never got any. My computer continued to keep "stop script" and run slow. So after several days of this I clicked on "Next" to download the update and it has been" Connecting to the update server" for over 6 hours now and still running little green boxes in a frame over and over and over. My huge annoyance is how Preview converts ai, .eps and .ps files to .pdf files.
It has progressively deteriorated from Tiger to Leopard to Snow Leopard.
In Leopard it defaulted to saving the .pdfs to the Documents folder not the place of origin and would regularly crash if more than a few (sometimes just 2) files were opened simultaneously.
In Snow Leopard nothing was fixed and now the names are stripped off the converted files so that they are all called Untitled.
Apple must have received hundreds of bug reports (I diligently sent one every time Preview crashed) and several feedbacks detailing the problem, to the point I believe persecuting Designers and ruining their work has become a NEXT programmers secret objective.
Except for a couple of minor bug fixes to do with drag & drop in Preview, I am puzzled where the so-called improvements in Snow Leopard really benefit user.

New update has been installing for over 20 minutes

I downloaded the new OS system update, but it has been on the installing software update for over 20 minutes with a moving blue/white activity bar.
It is obviously hanging as installation on another machine in the house installed in a matter of minutes.
Am I screwed? This is a business machine and I can't afford a loss.

If you have it backed up then I would kill it. If you don't and the update is still progressing then leave it alone. Most likely it's taking a while because the system you are updating was dysfunctional.
If you stop it and are still able to boot the computer then do the following:
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions - Lion/Mountain Lion
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported then click on the Repair Permissions button. When the process is completed, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
After this is completed download and install OS X Mountain Lion Update v10.8.4 (Combo).

IOS update has been downloading for over 24 hours

I started the update for my IOS yesterday and it hasn't completed. It has been stuck at about 75% for almost 24 hours now. Will this eventually complete?

Could be the charger, cable or the iPad.
Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
And this - Unplug the charger from the iPad and then replug. May resume charging.
Or - Recalibrate the battery. See link below.

When I get on my ipod and press the app "text free" I can text, but when I try to call I get something that says "Still connecting to the voice network and to try later. This has been there for days and my daughters can call on theirs.

Iphoto has been uploading for days and won't let me close program

A few days ago I attempted to upload my photos on my iPhone 5s to free up storage on my phone. I connected phone and it appeared they were being imported. Not because I could see them but every time i clicked on import it said it was already importing. i finally used Icapture i think it was called and i can see pictures but they are not in my library like the ones imported from my Nikon camera are. I am not able to shutdown iPhoto because it still says photos are being imported.

force quit - apple menu ==> force quit and then restart your Mac
Then if you did not have Image Capture import directly into iPhoto use the iPhoto file menu ==> import command to import from where every you had Image Capture put the photos

Firefox update has been downloading for about 1/2 hour. Why?

If there are problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop
