  • Windows 8.1 photosmart 6520 printer app won't open

I have an AsusQ301L running Windows 8.1, with Kaspersky Internet Security 2014 running. Just bought a Photosmart 6520 and installed driver software from HP website.  The printer will print form my applications, but the HP Application software will not open.  I've removed the software and reinstalled with no change. Uninstalled, copied installation disk to USB (on another machine as this one does not have CD drive) and reinstalled with no change.  Cannot open App from Windows 8.1 start screen, from desktop task bar, from desktop icon.
I can print from my computer and can scan to my computer, but the application SW will not open.  The software opens fine on other family members computers, and HP Pavillion and a Toshiba Satellite, bith running 8.1.
Any clues as to why I cannot open the software?

This has never been a feature of ipad/iphone/ipod.

  • I have a Photosmart 5514 printer that won't update e-print, can you help?

I don't need a proxy, just need a connection to my server to get going to my wireless.

I understand you are getting unable to connect to server error message on your printer. I would first unplug router and printer for about 1 minute. I would plug router up first then printer. I would then try to enable web services. If not successful and you get same error message. I would follow these steps.
    1. Obtain your printer's IP address
    a. This can be done by pressing the wireless icon on printer.
    2. Enter the printer's IP address in a browser.
    3. Select the network tab at the top of the page.
    4. On the left select networking.
    5. Select Network Address (IP)
    6. Select Manual DNS Server
    a. Manual Preferred DNS should read 8.8.8.8
    b. Alternate DNS Server should read. 8.8.4.4
    7. Select apply you might get a warning just select okay.
    8. Try to enable web services.
Let me know how it goes.

  • I have an Epson printer on a Wifi network. Windows 7 desktop and and HP Win 7 laptop (my wifes) print to it just fine. My MacBook Pro running Yosemite won't detect it, and I have the latest driver installed. No problem when I had a Canon...

I have an Epson printer on a Wifi network. Windows 7 desktop is running the network, and my wife's HP Win 7 laptop prints to it just fine. My MacBook Pro running Yosemite won't detect it, and I do have the latest driver installed. I didn't have a problem when I had a Canon Pixma on the network, but when I replaced it with the Epson nothing seems to work. I go to add a printer to the queue and only the FAX function of the printer shows up - not the WS-4530 print function. Does anyone out there have any suggestions?  Please??? :-)

    Hi Kelly,
As someone who has to print from my Mac to a networked printer at home all the time, I can certainly understand how frustrating it must be to have that fail to perform as expected. Let's see if we can get you up and running.
I would suggest that you troubleshoot using the steps in this article -

Start with the section titled Check the network.
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

My hp photosmart D110 printer won't scan or print since I upgraded to Yosemite.  Any suggestions?

    Hey clutterfromduluth,
Thanks for the question. I understand that you are experiencing issues with your printer/scanner after updating to OS X Yosemite. To troubleshoot this issue check out the following:
Troubleshooting printer issues in OS X
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3147
Follow these steps until the issue is addressed:
    1. Make sure that the printer is powered on, has ink / toner, and that there are no alerts on the printer’s control panel. Note: If you cannot clear an alert on the printer's control panel, stop here and check the printer's documentation or contact the manufacturer for support.
    2. Ensure the printer is properly connected to a USB port on the Mac or AirPort base station / Time Capsule. If the printer is a network-capable printer, make sure that it is properly connected to your home network.
    3. Use Software Update to find and install the latest available updates. If an update is installed, see if the issue persists.
    4. Open the Print & Scan pane or Print & Fax (Snow Leopard) pane in System Preferences.
    5. Delete the affected printer, then add the printer again.
If the issue persists, try these additional steps:
    1. Reset the printing system, then add the printer again.
    2. If the issue still persists, reset the printing system again.  Download and install your printer's drivers. Then, add the printer again.
    3. Contact the printer vendor or visit their website for further assistance.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • C3180 Photosmart All-in-one won't print. Gives message 'clear paper jam.' There is no paper jam.

C3180 Photosmart All-in-one won't print. Gives message  'clear paper jam.'  There is no paper jam.  About a month ago there was a paper jam, but was removed.  It worked fine since then until yesterday.  I've tried all the HP trouble-shooting suggestions- unplug, take apart, manually move carriage, etc. and nothing has solved the problem.  The paper does not advance...all that happens if I try to print is a lot of noise like carriage going back and forth and after a/b 1-2 minutes it will show the "red X" blinking on the printer and a message on the computer screen, "Clear paper jam."  When the problem first started yesterday the message was that the printer was "Out of paper."  I need to print a resume and this is just the wrong time for someone such as myself with little computer knowledge to try to figure it out.  Thanks for any suggestions!

    Hi there pattimessick,
You may not need to remove/re-add. Try downloading and running the print and scan doctor located here:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c03275041&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en
It can fix a lot on its own (especially connectivity problems) and if not give a better idea of what is going on.
    Best of Luck!

How do I change the date printed on my pictures when using the Photosmart A646 with Windows 7?
It says 01-01-70. I have explored every option on the printer's touch screen as well as on the print properties screen on the computer and can't seem to find a way to change the date.

  • My HP Photosmart 385 printer won't work with my operating system - Windows Vista Ultimate. Why not?

Is there a driver that I can dowload so my HP Photosmart 385 printer will work with my Windows Vista Ultimate operating system?

    Hey Alyssa426,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
Since the installation disk does not support Windows 8.1, I would suggest trying to download, and install the drivers directly from the HP Support website. I have included a link to the 'HP Deskjet F4200/F4224 All-in-One Printer series Full Feature Software and Driver'. Once the software is downloaded, open the software, and follow through the on screen instructions for installation.
Please let me know the outcome of installing the software.
    Thank you.

  • HP Photosmart C4600 Printer won't scan

Tried uninstalling & reinstalling printer and also installing updated driver suggested in Forum from someone having same problem & then restarting computer.  Running Mac OS X version 10.6.2.  Tried scanning from printer & also computer & get same message - "unknown error".

    Hi Joyful10,
Welcome to the HP Forums! I see that your HP Photosmart c4600 printer will not scan, with your Mac OS X 10.6.2. I have a few questions for you:
What is your printer's Product/Model Number? To find your printer's Product/Model Number follow instructions in this link. Finding Your HP Product Model Number.
How is the printer connected? Wireless, Ethernet, or USB?
Can you make copies with the printer?
Is the printer's power cable plugged into a surge protector, or directly to the wall outlet?
Hope to hear from you, and have a great day!

  • Is there any way to print a photo from my iphone on plain paper on my photosmart plus printer?

Whenever I try to use Airprint to print a photo from my iPhone to my Photosmart Plus printer, it tries to print it on photo paper from the photo paper tray.
I want it to print on the plain paper in the regular tray.
I read online where this is possible with the iPrint app - but when I went to the App Store, there is no iPrint App.  I found a sticky post here saying that it has been removed from the App Store in anticipation of a new ePrint Home & Business version that won't be available everywhere until September.
So, in the meantime, is there anyway to change the location of where the photos from the iPhone print?
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

    HI
Most likely their is not, as printing pictures is standard set to photopaper as you most likely need good quality. Pictures on normal paper are not considered good quaity and thus not set as standard.

  • [Solved] Hp-setup cannot find my HP Photosmart Plus printer

    Hi all,
I'm trying to set up my HP Photosmart Plus printer. I have an Arch desktop acting as the CUPS server, which I ssh into from my laptop. I've gone through the CUPS installation and linux - linux sharing instructions. When I try to set up the printer through the CUPS web interface, it easily detects and adds my printer. I can access it from my laptop and print stuff fine. However, it will only print out:
**** Unable to open the initial device, quitting.
I discovered that the printer should instead be set up using hp-setup. Running hp-check -t gives this.
Running hp-check --fix prompts to reinstall the printer through hp-setup, and so it removes the printer from CUPS and starts hp-setup -i.
When I select "net" for the connection type (my printer is wireless), it can't find my printer, even though the standard CUPS interface had no problem with this.
