My photostream quit uploading to my PC (iCloud)

I set up my photostream via iCloud to upload to my PC when I'm connected to wi-fi.  It has always worked and now it doesn't.  The setting is set to upload.  My iPad and iPhone both are sharing, but not my PC.

  • Why does Photostream quit uploading pics located in "upload" folder? About half of my 300 pics are showing in my various devices...

I've copied a batch of 300 pics into the "upload" folder, and initially about 1/4 went to photostream, as evidenced on my iPad. When it stalled out, I matched up the missing pics from the original folder and gave it another shot.  About another 1/4 went up, then it stalled.  I actually watched my iPad the second time, and could see the images pop up.  I had copied three short videos; I've deleted them from "upload" but had to end the applephotostream process to do it.  Any ideas?

  • I have lost all my pics on my PC and would like to upload them to iCloud from my iPad.  As they aren't in Photostream, but are in "Photos" or "iPhoto", how can I upload them to the iCloud?

They are currently in Albums within Photos, and also within albums in iPhoto, but not in Photostream.  How do I upload them to the iCloud (I have bought space to ensure they will all load).
    Help!

    Thank you.

    Correct.
On an iOS device, new photos you take will be automatically uploaded to your photo stream when you leave the Camera app and are connected to Wi-Fi. Note: My Photo Stream does not push photos over cellular connections.

  • Photostream is turned on. Icloud is installed and working. 6 days ago photostream stopped uploading pics. Nothing changed it just stopped.

Photostream is on, on my iphone4.
Icloud is installed and working. It is set to upload/download photos, everything else is off, as it has been for the last year.
I have 4.8 gigs of 5 gigs available to me in icloud.
6 days ago photostream stopped uploading pics. Since then I uninstalled and reinstalled icloud. It made no difference.
I have 1.6 gigs free on my phone.
    Nothing changed it just stopped.

Someother contacts and photostreams were uploaded to my iphone and mine were lost why does this happen to my apple id?

The "system" performed as designed. All devices syncing to one iCloud account are kept in common sync. The idea is that all such devices belong to one user. Different users should have different iCloud accounts.  Once your contacts were edited, all devices were updated as well and subsequent backups (from yours and her device) reflected the changed contacts (and any other data that may have been edited like calendars). Your first task is to change your daughter over to a new account before she makes other changes.
The only way I see for getting back contacts is to restore them from a time machine backup, assuming you also have a Mac included in the account which syncs the contacts. However, I'm not sure whether time machine includes contacts from iCloud along with those that are local, "on my Mac".
Otherwise the deleted contacts are gone.

  • TS3989 my photostream quit working, how do I get it working again

My photostream quit working. The pictures are on my iphone 4s but don't go to my PC? Apple won't help unless I pay them money, which I don't have at this time because I lost my job. Going to forums I see that many people have this same problem.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Photostream only syncs photos over Wi-Fi, make sure you are connected to Wi-Fi to begin with.
Photostream only syncs when the camera app is closed, ensure it is closed.
Photostream only syncs when the battery is above 20%, try recharging the device
Try disabling photo stream on your device (settings > iCloud), restarting your device and then re-enabling photo stream.
If this doesn't help you may need to reset photo stream. You can do this at icloud.com by clicking on your name in the top right corner and then the advanced settings in the pop-up dialogue box that appears.
Note: disabling photostream and re-enabling it will result in any photos that are currently in the photostream album on your device, that are older than 30 days old, not being added back.

  • How to upload local photos to icloud photo library

with the new icloud photo library(beta) that was introduced in iOS 8.1, I tried to turn it on to upload my photos on my iphone 6 to icloud drive, but it warned me those photos I uploaded from my mac to my iphone will be removed.....
So does it only upload and syns those photos I took using iphone? what about those local photos on my mac or PC, that were uploaded to my iphone using iPhoto or iTunes? Is there a way to upload  them all  to icloud drive?
    Thanks a lot

I logged onto https://beta.icloud.com/#photos and only found a download tab, so how to upload photos to iCloud Photo Library?

  • Since iCloud Photo Library will not allow photos from iTunes iphoto to be up loaded ---how do I upload my photos to iCloud Photo Library?

I Have a 5s iPhone updated to 8.1---- have installed iCloud Photo Library---- will only upload 4oo of 21,000 photos--- will not upload any photos from iTunes. Since all 21,000 are in iPhoto's iTunes how do I get them to the icloud photo library.  As you know enabling iCloud Photo Library deletes all iTunes photos from the iPhone 5s.  Any ideas?

I Figured it out----- you can't upload iTunes iphotos to iCloud Photo Library from an iPhone!  Can't be done.  Must have a Mac to do it--- and it better not be an old one. Thanks apple!

  • HT202786 If I upload a video to iCloud can it not  be downloaded again?

If I upload a video to iCloud can it not  be downloaded again?

    Hi Debi,
Videos (and photos) can be downloaded from iCloud photo sharing. See this article -
iCloud Photo Sharing FAQ - Apple Support
In particular the section Can photos and videos be saved or downloaded from a shared album?
Yes. After photos are shared, anyone who can view the shared album can download and keep them permanently. Videos can only be downloaded to a Mac or PC. On an iOS device, videos are streamed from iCloud and can't be downloaded.
On a compatible iOS device, you can save photos to your Photos tab or Camera Roll.
In iPhoto or Aperture for Mac, you can add or copy shared photos or videos to your Library.
On a Windows PC, you can copy photos and videos from a shared album to any folder.
On the web, you can download photos and videos directly to your computer from the detail view of each photo or video.
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
    Best,

  • Uploading MP4 video to iCloud photos fails

I am trying to upload a 25MB MP4 video to iCloud photos yet I keep on receiving an error indicating 'JPEG format only'
I checked that you should be able to upload MP4 videos via iCloud on my PC so I can then view on my iphone 6.
    Can anyone help?

I see this question in a lot of places and in several Apple discussion groups. I've tried a number of the proposed solutions. I have 99GBs to upload. I got about 30GB uploaded twice, but then it kept stalling there (I have plenty of space). The solution that came closest was for me to turn off icloud, shut down Photos, rebuild Photos library (I think it's cntrl + option + double click on Photos icon), then start it all again. This let me get 60GB up fairly quickly, but it's been stuck there for a few days now. I also took my iMac into work and hooked it up to the bigger system there, since many people proposed doing that, assuming that those environments have bigger "pipes."  Anyway, I did all of this, and it's still stuck, uploading maybe one photo every six hours or so.

  • Photos upload from MacBook to iCloud process stopped

    OS X 10.10.3
    Photos 1.0
I Converted my Aperature library to Photos.  In Photos I have approx 14,200 items.  By using the automatic upload from Photos  to iCloud, 7875 items have moved to iCloud.  This is consistent with what I see on my iPad.  The automatic upload has stopped with 6,392 items still to upload.  I have stopped and restarted the upload process several times.  Each time it stops at exactly the same count.  Has anyone else encountered this?  Is there a way to determine what it is uploading when it gets stuck?  I would happily delete the offender if I could tell who it was.

Just going to throw in again: iCloud is to keep's Apple's products on Apple's devices synced up between multiple devices. It isn't for sharing. It isn't for storage.
iCloud is the Apple-branded cloud (see the "i"). It isn't meant to be a completely free-of-charge realization of the future that all the tech people keep calling "the cloud."
It adds a lot of very nice functionality to Apple's own products, yet people are screaming their heads off about not getting free disk space and free bandwidth to use for whatever they want online. Apple added functionality, but tons of people seem to think they took away functionality. These things were never promised with iCloud.

Has anyone got photostream to upload from a pc yet?  Works fine between my MacBookPro and iMac and TO my PC's but not FROM my PC's

Same here.  Seems to download great, but upload is a problem.  Searched for some type of file size / type restriction, but the help pages do not seem to be in place yet.

  • I've just bought a new mac and I want to transfer the content from my old Macbook to my new. If I have iCloud enabled on both devices, is this simple, or is there a limit to what I can transfer? For example, can I upload word files to iCloud?

iCloud is not the way to do this. You should use Migration Assistant - with this you can transfer your complete User folder from the old Mac including preferences and logins. You will need to connect the two with FireWire or USB depending on the models.
Ideally you should do this before you set up the new Mac - if you create a user account with the same name than the Migration will have to give the migrated user folder a different name. When you first switch on the new Mac it should ask you if you want to transfer your data, and give you instructions.

  • Is it possible to delete the original photos from my iphone if i have uploaded them into the icloud?

Is it possible to delete the original photos from my iphone if i have uploaded them into the icloud?
Or are they then completely lost?

Yes.  iTunes will report that your photos are now being accessed from iCloud Photo Library and will no longer sync photo and videos from your computer.  If you have a Mac, you'll want to avoid enabling it until OS X Yosemite in introduced along with it's built-in photo app, which will have to ability to access iCloud Photo Library.  (Note: the Photos app may not be introduced concurrently with Yosemite, but is supposed to follow "early next year".)
