My pictures application will not open since i got the new ios5 update
After I updated my Iphone to the new ios5 i can no longer open the pictures app and my phone won't allow me to take or save pictures. The HDR feature ruined my phone and tech is less than helpful with fixing this problem. I have restored, turned off, rebooted, closed and messed with this phone and nothing works. This is an apple software problem not mine. They owe me a new phone for their terrible new software. I am highly dissatisfied and this further proves why apple is a bad product.
Hello BobbyRiley, any luck if you '''trash''' the current Firefox application to do a clean install ?
1. Download a copy of the latest firefox from http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
2. '''Trash''' the current Firefox application to do a clean install.
3. Install the version that you have downloaded.

I have an iphone 4 and ever since i downloaded the new ios5 my calenders dont sync properly.
I've been working on this all day!!! I've tried everything I know of and can't get it to load either. Sounds like lots of people are having problems. Here is what I have so far...I have uninstalled EVERYTHING on my pc from apple and reinstalled itunes to no avail. I have tried all sorts of things I've read as fixes online. NOTHING has worked. Here is something interesting that i have noticed though. my main pc (which is the one i have always managed my itunes account with for years) is a 32 bit system running windows 7. Yesterday I installed itunes for the first time on my new netbook which is a 64 bit (windows 7) system and it works just fine. i have three other laptops (all window 7) in my household that are all 64 bit operating systems and ALL have updated to 10.5 and THEY ALL work fine. this is FOUR 64 bit systems ALL updated w/10.5 that work and ONE that is a 32 bit that will not. Can't get any help from apple. their suppot *****! I want to get someone on the **** phone or a live chat but cant. *** APPLE????? please let mw know if you find SOMETHING i can try next. I'm out of ideas and patience!

The Firefox application pops up but will not load . All I get is the spinning ball that I need to force close. Rebooting doesn't seem to help.

ITunes will not open on 1Phone 4 with new iso6 update
Since making the bad decision to update to the new iso I have had and endless list of problems.
But my main annoyance is the fact that iTunes doesn't work on my phone anymore - It opens but the screen is blank.
I have closing the app and restarting the phone and iTunes is up to date.
ThanksOK, so what troubleshooting steps have you taken? Have you taken the ones recommended in the User Guide? Exactly what HAVE you done thus far to help solve your problem?

i have a 120 gig ipod classic,i noticed i was having problems, with itunes taking longer to sync, after spending almost 2 hours up loading all my movies music,to my ipod, then after all was done i would get an error 69 message,in the middle of the sync, then all my music would be on there some movies, music worked fine, most movies didnt except for a few, that happened once, most times after syncing there was no music movies, on the ipod,,then i would reconnect to itunes, tried to restore my ipod was taking forever, then when i clicked restore, would take longer, very annoyed, think its the new itunes causing problems for me,hoping i wont have to purchas up dates, done that before, paid 450 3 years ago for the ipod, paid for lots of music, movies, its not very old,but to apple the thing is probebly considered ancient, any help would be cool,
Read this Apple Support Article on handling error 69 it may be a bad corrupted file.
Or worst case the iPod Hardisk need to be check, as you are saying that it is taking longer than usual.
Do the iPod Disk Diagnostic as posted earlier by tt2, it wont fix your problem but helps in troubleshooting.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

HT2188 Ever since I got the new software update my iTunes on my phone is grey and does nothing!
Has anyone had similar issues?
Hey Sandeejackpot,
Thanks for the question. If you haven't already done so, you may want to restart or reset the iPhone:

If the issue persists, you will want to reinstall iOS:

Gallery application will not open
Gallery on my Samsung Stellar will not open. i can backup the pictures via the direct USB connection to my computer but when i try to open the Gallery app i get a pop up message, that disappears quickly, that basically says to delete some software or pictures to free up space.
since you can not open the app it makes it tough to delete picsbeastar55, let's get rid of that pop up message! Our goal is to free up memory space on your device. We recommend that you uninstall any unwanted applications, text messages, e-mails, and call logs. Once you have deleted all unwanted information, try to access the picture gallery again. Keep us posted.

I recently ran monolingual and removed all but the intel-64 bit architectures. Now my iphoto (along with Idvd, garage band, imovie) will not open. Here is the message that I get.

I have reinstalled Mac OSX 10.6.3 and done the updates from there.
I have reinstalled ilife 11 from disk and done the updates.
I have deleted all the suggested files and then redone install and updates.
I have tried just reinstalling iphoto and doing updates.
Is there any way to get a replacement - /Library/Frameworks/iLifeSlideshow.framework/Versions/A/iLifeSlideshow
file with the right architecture? -
IPhoto will not open since upgrading to OSX 10.8
Hi, has anyone come across this since upgrading to Mountain Lion. iPhoto will not open and I get the below error message. I was previously on OSX 10.6 with all updates applied to the OS. I upgrade the iPhoto app under iLife 11 on OSX 10.6 and it worked fine. Since I upgrade to the new Mountain Lion OS, iPhoto will not open. I tried to rebuild the library using the command and option (alt) key but it will not give me the option to rebuild. Should I attempt to delete the application and reinstall? Any assistance would be gratefully received. Many thanks.

Firstly, after reinstalling iPhoto, it requires me to upgrade via the App store, and then I get the below message. The odd thing is that my iphoto version is 9.2 whilst the upgrade from the App store refers to version 9.1. The version line item per the below message appears to have changed from the initial message in my first posting here.

Since downloading OS X Mountain Lion my WordSearch9 will not open. I got a message saying that X11 was not supported and directed to a site to download an update "XQuartz" which I did. Now when I try to launch WordSearch9 I get a message "X11 cannot be found". I did follow the instructions to download and install XQuartz, but there still seems to be a problem. Anyone have an idea?
Your report indicates Mountain Lion, but your footer indicates Lion. I'll assume you're on 10.8.2; on the current Mountain Lion version.
Rebooting is fine.
The posted diagnostics look like there might be a problem with the Xquartz install, or it is not starting, or it's not authorized for the sandbox. (But I don't know enough about that to be certain.)
Try launching X11.app directly from your Applications > Utilities folder, and see if that works, or if shows any dialog boxes, or that reports any errors.
If you had an Xquartz kit installed and it's not the 2.7.4 (current) Xquartz kit, then please update to that version. (I'm assuming that site is where you got your Xquartz kit from, too.)
I'd also suggest also discussing this more directly with the Xquartz folks via mailing list or the IRC channel, or collecting up the Xquartz logs and then posting a bug over at the Xquartz site; here are the details on bug reporting for Xquartz. -
My classic OS9 applications will not open
My Classic OS9 applications will not open, and I cannot find the classic OS9 application showing in the preferences window.I tried installing Classic OS9 on a disc I had from another computer but maybe it was the wrong disc
Here is apple's take on the subject.
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1929
Try this:
1) on your eMac update the machine to 9.2.2
-- ( it needs to be 9.2.2 I think & do not know if you can update to 9.2.2
on Mac OS X. I think you can update on X, but not 100% sure. )
2) get a flash drive
3) format to flashdrive to Mac OS extended
-- ( guess you could use journaled. )
-- ( need to perserve resource forks.)
4) copy the folder
System Folder
to the flash drive.
-- ( this is the mac os 9 folder. Only the Max OS X will/may have the 9 on the folder. )
-- ( do not move it on emac like to the desktop etc. )
5) copy to your iMac.
6) Bless classic folder. See http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1929 for how.
Let me know how it goes. Could try it out since I have Classi running in a partition on this machine. -
Many of my applications will not open. After clicking on them, they sometimes bounce before notifying me that the application quit unexpectedly. I can't get iTunes to open at all before it crashes.
I'm having a very similar problem. A night or two ago I did a system update and since then I can't get Safari, iTunes or my Word to open. I don't know if there are any other applications affected, I don't really care, these are the ones I use practically everyday.
I did try to look at my activity monitor too since the spinning beachball and Safari closing on me was a common thing, and I did look at the inactive processes, and I did try to quit some of the processes that were under my name, since I could not log into the root user. So I probably messed something up there, but anyway...
I tried to restart, unplug the AC/remove the battery and hold power for 5 seconds, do the entire create a new account thing, delete the com.apple.safari.plist and no success. I also tried to do the repair permissions thing and it says "Repairing permissions for "Macintosh HD" Error: No valid packages Permissions repair complete.
Another weird thing is that the clock and airport icons are gone again from my bar. I had to put them back yesterday.
I know I will probably have to reinstall everything, I tried to do that, but I lost my discs in my move, so I know I will probably have to drive 3 hours to take it to a genius to fix, but I was hoping someone would have some clue or insite as to what I can do to try and fix this situation. I love my mac and my boyfriend is getting one this weekend (converted him from PC), so I don't want him to think they are bad at all!! Thanks. -

I think you are clicking the grey text category titles on the Share menu, as many have done.
In the following image, the items enclosed in the red boxes are selectable. The grey text is not. -
I purchased Final Cut 10.0.8 about 18 months ago but now it will not open --- since I updated to Yosemite. How do I update Final Cut so I can use it again?
You download the update from the App Store using the Apple ID that was used to purchase it.
You should read up about the newer versions before you update as the application has changed substantially since then.
You can start here
