Click and hold on the Save button, and a menu appears, listing each attached file’s name along with a Save As button. Select any individual file, and you’ll save just that attachment to disk. But the really nice feature is the final menu item—Add to iPhoto. That’s right; with one button click-and-hold, you can add all of a message’s attached images to iPhoto.

You can call AppleCare and request a replacement set of the original DVD's that shipped with the computer for a nominal charge. You will need the serial number (look on the bottom of the stand) and a credit card. Click the AppleCare Contact Info link. Without knowing which iMac you have it's very difficult to say if a new SL disc would work or not.

  • Iphoto notification showing on the iphoto app icon for no apparent reason

I can't get rid of the Iphoto notification showing on the iphoto app icon.  It shows "1" yet I have no accounts set up and therefore no photostream switched on.  The photo library is empty.   Any ideas?

This is going on for me, and I've done this:
    http://i.imgur.com/ePrfAGP.png
to fix it, with no results.  I'd like control over that icon, as my OCD is making me keep it out of the dock.  I know I can check on photostream to remove the icon, but I'd rather not have to.

  • Pictures not showing up in iPhoto - though it says they are there

I've got a roll that says it has 22 items in it - 5 movies and the rest photos. ONLY the movies show up. If I go into the actual folder in the Finder the photos are there. Any idea why they aren't visible in iPhoto? All of the other rolls are working fine.
    thanks!

Any idea why they aren't visible in iPhoto?
    Two possibilities:
    They weren’t imported properly
    or
They were and your database is damaged.
In the first scenario: drag them to the desktop and try import them again. In the second:
Try these in order - from best option on down...
    1. Do you have an up-to-date back up? If so, try copy the library6.iphoto file from the back up to the iPhoto Library allowing it to overwrite the damaged file.
    2. Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
    3. If neither of these work then you'll need to create and populate a new library.
To create and populate a new *iPhoto 6* library:
Note this will give you a working library with the same Rolls and pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, modified versions, books, calendars etc.
Move the iPhoto Library to the desktop
Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
Go into the iPhoto Library on your desktop and find the Originals folder. From the Originals folder drag the individual Roll Folders to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library on your desktop.
In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption.
Standard Warning: Don't change anything in the iPhoto Library Folder via the Finder or any other application. iPhoto depends on the structure as well as the contents of this folder. Moving things, renaming things or otherwise making changes will prevent iPhoto from working and could even cause you to damage or lose your photos.

  • Pictures not showing up in iphoto

I imported pictures from my digital camera and marked delete pictures from camera when done importing. Then I pulled the usb cord from my computer and when I went to the iphoto library the pictures were not there. When I go to the pictures folder on my hardrive and look under iphoto they are there. So they are on my hard drive but not in the iphoto program. How can I find them in the actual iphoto program and not my hard drive?

The easiest way to get them to work might be to do the following:
    1. Create a new folder on your desktop titled whatever you want.
    2. Move the missing picture files from the iPhoto folder to the new folder.
    3. Open a few of the files to verify that the photos (and not just empty icons or damaged files) actually work.
    4. Open iPhoto.
    5. Click and drag the entire new folder into the iPhoto app.
This should ensure that the photos are all copied correctly into the iPhoto library and are cataloged correctly as one-single roll or import session. After you verify that the photos are now secure in your iPhoto library folder, you can throw away the new folder you created on your desktop with the photos. Also, in the future make sure you click on the eject button next to the camera icon in the list view on the left side of the iPhoto window before unplugging the USB cord.
Let me know if that works for you.

  • Thinning Pictures Folder to Match the iPhoto Library

    Hi everyone,
The folder for my "iPhoto library" folder is 6.63GB and the size of my actual library in iPhoto is 4.8GB. There's a lot of ancient pictures and movies that I thought I had deleted that are still around, obviously. How can I quickly delete the excess and keep what I'm using without going through manually?
I need the space and would really appreciate an answer. Thanks in advance.
    Cheers!

    Keegan

Are you able to see any of the photos that you think are still around and that you thought you had deleted?
The folder for my "iPhoto library" folder is 6.63GB and the size of my actual library in iPhoto is 4.8GB.
Where do you get 4.8GB as the size of your actual library? Is this your iPhoto Library package inside your Pictures folder?
Is the 6.63GB your Pictures folder?
How can I quickly delete the excess and keep what I'm using without going through manually?
If you are considering deleting files from within the iPhoto Library package then don't, this would have serious effects on the working of iPhoto.
When we hear from you we will provide further information.

  • Picture not showing in the forum thumbnail when replying

My picture was approved and shows in my profile but it does not show when I reply or start a discussion. What do I need to do to make it show?

    Antohny,
Also be patient. It can take several days, before the uploaded image is approved, and shows. My two red wine glasses image took about 7-10 days, and this one about 5.
IIRC, in my profile, I had "(pending)" showing during that time.
    Good luck,

  • In an album, many pictures would show on the screen and double clicking one would enlarge it for adjustments. Now one larger photo shows and along the bottom severa smaller ones. Options which used to be at the top right of screen no longer show. Whel

In Aperture album about 16 photos would show on screen and double clicking on one would enlarge it for adjustments. Now one larger image shows with about 7 photos at bottom. Options for controlling this no longer appear at top right. How do I correct this?

Do you mean the "View" controls are missing in your Toolbar?
To add these controls back to the Toolbar, use the View menu and select "Customize Toolbar". Drag the View Controls back to the Toolbar.

  • Everytime I open iphoto, my computer tells me A photo has been found in the iPhoto Library that was not imported.  Would you like to import it.  no matter what I do, iphoto puts the pic in recovered files.  How do I fix this?

Everytime I open iphoto, my computer tells me,  A photo has been found in the iPhoto Library that was not imported.  Would you like to import it.  If I import it, a message comes up Unreadable file, the following file could not be imported. them it tells me where the file is and it cannot be opened.  If I do not import, then it says,The photo has been placed in the folder /Users/patrick*******/Pictures/iPhoto Library Recovered Photos_4.  It will just keep adding to recvovered photos.  This drives me crazy!!!!!!!  How do I fix this?

I had this problem some months ago and the following solution from Terrence Delvin put things right:
Go to your Pictures Folder and find the iPhoto Library there. Right (or Control-) Click on the icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. A finder window will open with the Library exposed.
Look there for a Folder called 'Import' or 'Importing'.
Drag it to the Desktop. *Make no other changes*.
    Start iPhoto. Does that help?
If it does then look inside that folder on your desktop. Does it contain anything you want? If not you can trash the folder.
However, since connecting a memory stick to my computer, I now have the same problem again.  This time there is no folder called 'Import' or 'Importing' so what should I do?

  • A photo found in the iPhoto library that was not imported

Every time I open iPhoto, I receive a message saying "A photo has been found in the iPhoto library that was not imported. Would you like to import it?" If I select yes, a box pops up saying "Unreadable file. The file was not imported, the file was missing." and then the photo's path. If I select no, the photo gets placed in a recovery file. I can see the photo in the recovery file, it is a photo that I locked (and maybe marked hidden - if you can even do both). I've tried to go into my iPhoto and unhide photos so that I can unlock the original...I've also tried unlocking the photo in the recovered file. I've tried deleting the photo in the recovery file as well...I can unlock it in Finder and delete it, but (with my limited knowledge of computers) I've determined that I must only be deleting a copy. Where is the original...I'd like to delete it. I don't even need this pic anymore and it is SERIOUSLY IRRITATING ME every time I open iPhoto. And that's often, as I'm always taking pics of my little one. TIA!!!!! Sara

  • Trying to upload some photos to an e-mail an I get a message that says "The iPhoto Library is locked, on a locked disk, or you do not have permission to make changes to it."  To where do I navigate to unlock this so I can have access to my photo library?

    Couple of things to try:
Restart your mac and try launch iPhoto again.
    If that fails:
Go to your Pictures Folder and find the iPhoto Library there. Right (or Control-) Click on the icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. A finder window will open with the Library exposed.
Look there for a file called ‘iPhoto’Lock.data or similar. Drag it to the Desktop. Make no other changes. Start iPhoto. Does that help?
If not: Where is your iPhoto Library stored? If it's on an External Disk, what format is that?
