My pictures don't look sharp in my new iPad

When  I upload pothos from iPhoto to Facebook the quality is very poor, it almost look like the app is not compatible with the retina display of my new iPad

First, can you be specific about what you don't like? Your graphic looks fine to me.
Second, when you're making an image for the screen, dpi has no meaning. (It's meaningful for print.) Your image has height and width in pixels, and it will display with that many pixels on any monitor. On screen, the image is not scaled so that each pixel is a given fraction of an inch. One pixel in an image will display as one pixel on the screen. For example, if I have a 21" monitor and a 14" monitor, both set to the same resolution, the same image will be larger on the 21", simply because the same number of pixels are spread over a larger physical area. If I have two 21" monitors, one set to 800x600 resolution and one to 1600x1200 pixel resolution, a given image will appear larger on the first monitor, because the pixels are larger. In all cases, the image is mapped pixel by pixel from the image file to the monitor. So don't worry about dpi for screen graphics.

  • Im looking to buy the new ipad but Iv a question. I can only afford either the 16gb with cellular or the 32gb without cellular...if one HAD to pick between the two what would u pick

I'm looking to buy the new ipad but I've a question. I can only afford either the 16gb with cellular or the 32gb without cellular. If one HAD to pick between bigger storage space or the added cellular which would u pick? Please help!

Like I said, I only have WiFi iPads, and don't know much at all about the data plans, but I don't think that you have to commit to a long term contract and I believe that there are plans that you can cancel at any time. My point is that if you sign up for a plan, and you use it say 4 months out of the year, you could be spending that money that you saved on the original cost of the iPad and even more in the future.
Actually, you can look at the AT&T plans here.

  • Pictures don't look the same inside Photoshop

They look better, which is bad.  I save them to a folder, or upload them to the web, and they just don't look as good.  I've read some "solutions" but they never seem to work.  Photoshop does not reflect what the images show in Windows (folder, preview, browser).  I am only interested in working on what it will look like on the computer, not what it will look like when I print it.  I don't care about that (not for this project, anyway).

    You should read this: http://www.calibrize.com/primer1.html
Then download and run this free calibration software:

  • HT4236 pictures don't appear in order on the ipad

When I sync'd my pictures from my iTunes (10 - MAC) to my iPad (2), my pictures did not appear in the same order as they do in iPhoto (11).  How can I fix this to reorganize my pictures to appear on my iPad in the correct order?

Spare yourself the frustration, try Photo Manager Pro.

  • Hi am looking to buy the new ipad when on holiday in vegas can any one tell me if i can use a british sim in it thanks

hi am looking to purchase the mew ipad when on holiday in vegas can anyone tell me if i can use a british sim in it thanks

Using a UK SIM suggests that you will be accessing 3G data in the States using your UK card.  The cost of this is likely to be horrendous.  Advice: DON'T use a UK SIM abroad for data access, buy a local SIM at your destination and top it up as necessary.  Example: my local telco charges me 1p/Mb for 3G data at home; if I roam in Europe they charge £3.58/Mb.

  • MacBook Pro/iPhone 4S user looking to buy NEW iPad - what size?

I know, I know....this get's asked a zillion times, and many of the answers are the same - "Depends on what you want to do", etc.  However, none of what I searched seem to answer MY question, so here goes:
I am looking to buy a new iPad before the end of this week for business purposes mainly.  Particularly so I don't have to travel with my MacBook Pro.  I also currently have an iPhone 4S.  It's a 32GB model and has a little over 10GB of free space.  I have an extensive photo (11,000 pictures) and good size music collection (40GB) as well, but as you can tell by the phone usage, I'm not one to carry everything with me.  Now, here's where I haven't found an answer to my questions.....since I use iCloud for photos and music (with iTunes Match) as well as starting to use it (along with Dropbox and Evernote) for documents, why would I want anything more than a 16GB (or possibly 32GB) iPad?  This leads to another question, would I be wiser to buy the 64GB iPad, then when upgrading to the new iPhone (5 or new or whatever they will call it), get a smaller capacity version of that?  I'm only looking for a wi-fi iPad, as I can use my iPhone as a personal hotspot.
Thanks very much for any input.

As you have suggested yourself, there really isn't a correct answer to the question other than "what would serve your needs".
If you are using cloud services, and iTunes match, you could very well get by with a 16gb. However, you might want to consider how much time you might spend when getting online would be difficult (in the air traveling for example), and what you would want available during those times. My original iPad was a 16GB, and it served me well, but I did opt for 32GB when I upgraded to the New iPad. I don't regret the decision since it gives me more flexibility. BTW, I do use cloud services, including iTunes Match (currently just shy of 17,000 tracks loaded), extensively.

  • How do I put high resolution pictures on my new iPad?

So I picked up a new iPad and I love it but when I try to put high resolution photos (2048x2048) for the wallpaper on it it resizes them to 1024 for example... This happens via email and when I download them from a website.
HOw do I get high resolution photos on my iPad to take advantage of the awesome screen?

Sync photos from your computer. If the new iPad is like the iPad 2 the photos will be sized to display at the screens resolution. Thus they should look stunning on your new iPad.

  • Why do my photos get blurry when they are enlarged to full screen from the disc I burn, or played on the t.v.?  I set the burn on the highest quality.  The photos don't look blurry when enlarged from iphoto on the computer.

Why do my photos that are transferred from iphoto to idvd, and then burned on DVD, look blurry when the idvd is shown full screen on computer or on t.v.  They don't look blurry when I enlarge the iphoto pics on the computer.  I used the 'prof. quality" encoding setting before burning, and before putting photos on idvd.

    Hi
DVD is as standard - only interlaced SD-Video (as on old CRT-TVs) and can never be any better than this.
This is less than a quarter of Your Mac screen resolution.
That's one part of Why You can see High res. on Your Mac - and not on DVD.
Next part is what program is used to make the SlideShow.
If You use iMovie'08 or 09 or 11 - to make it - it too degrades the final result as non of them can deliver interlaced SD-Video to iDVD but only half (every second line in the picture)
    I use
    • iMovie HD6 or
    • FinalCut (any version) or
    • FotoMagico™
As they all delivers 100% of what iDVD or Toast™ or DVD Studio Pro or Whatever needs.

  • Full screen pictures in slideshow not sharp

Full screen pictures shown in the slideshow are not sharp, they're blurry. Very disappointing.
In the library they look sharper but not as sharp as exported files (jpeg).
Is this normal?  Is it not possible to see sharpening inside Lightroom?
    thanks in advance,
    jan

If you're referring to an iWeb photo page slideshow or album page slideshow the answer is no. iWeb doesn't provide for a full screen display of a photo. You would have to add some javascript via HTML snippet to alter iWeb's slideshow feature.
There is a way to do what you want with one of the 3 party javascript slideshows. The one that comes to mind is the one in this demo page: Jalbum. Jalbum has over 100 skins/themes that you can choose from. Many will let you select the image size to display.
If you select Borderless Slideshow from the Theme menu and click on the blue/green icon in the upper right hand corner of the example it will convert to full screen. You will have to determine how large a photo you'll need to use for the monitor you want to fill.

  • Preview, photo opened in it looks sharp and then soften 2 sec. later!

Everytime I open up a photo in Preview it looks sharp for 2 sec and then it soften right infront of my very eyes. Ther same photo looks sharp and stay sharp when open in Photoshop. Is there a bug in Preview that came with OX10? Has anyone found the same problem? I look into Preview pref and tried several tweekings. Still the same.

    Hi--
You were right. When set to actual size in pref. the
previews will remain sharp but as soon as you use the
magnify glasses + or - the softening returns.
I'd suggest sending feedback to Apple about it if you'd like them to change it. It looks like they use a lower quality, faster algorithm to scale the pictures in Preview. Then they anti-alias the resulting picture. If I scale an image in Photoshop using "nearest neighbor" as the interpolation algorithm, I get results identical to what I see in Preview until it smooths out the ragged edges.

  • Pictures don't show in camera roll

Does anyone know why some pictures don't show up in the camera roll after I take a picture? The first time it happened I thought something was wrong and the picture didn't save. I looked in Photos and all the pictures I took were there but not all the pictures are in the camera roll. I haven't moved any photos. It seems to happen if I access the camera directly from the lock screen.

When you access the camera roll from the lock screen, you can only see photos that you took while at the lock screen during that session only. The phone needs to be unlocked first in order to see all your camera roll photos.

  • Aperture and Leopard-Canon RAW (CR2) Images look sharper?

Got back on Aperture after a week tinkering with Leopard and other things. In full screen mode the images look sharper. I know Apple have done things to Core image, but have they tweaked it for Aperture & images?
    Also now much nippier!

Not all CR2 files are the same
In other words, while they may have the same suffix, the Raw from every model of camera needs to be supported individually.
Here's a list of the cameras currently supported:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3825
    The s95 isn't on it.
Aperture menu -> Provide Aperture Feedback for requesting support.

  • Exported Video Doesn't look sharp

When I finished my recent video edit, i exported the video. The resulting video doesnt look sharp. It is grainy and I don't see the color corrections that were made to enhance the clips. Is there something I did wrong or is there something else I should have done before export? Also, should I use Compressor 4 and what does it do?

Optimize means to change from a highjy compressed codec to one that is very lightly compressed (Pro Res 422).
You can optimize at import or by right clicking clips in the browser and choosing Transcode.
As you know, GoPro majkes a lot of models and they shoot a variety of formats. In general, transcoding is a good idea, Try a test clip in a test project. Export it and see what you think.

  • Strange JPG bug. Lost image details when open it in PS. It looks sharper.

    Hello.
    Strange problem found.
This problem recur in Windows/Mac environment and in the CS4, CS3, CS2 and even 5.5 :-) (maybe others) versions of PS.
When open some JPG images in Photoshop, some details lost and image looks sharper/grainy then it is.
I've tested jpg's created by 3d editing program, downloaded from web etc on different PC's and still same problem, only in PS.
    Any ideas?
I think, it's not driver problem, because of problem iterations on different machines and in PS only.
CS4 11.0.1 installed, nvidia fx3700 latest drivers installed.
Original image in attachment, to open it ps and see the bug.

I didn't see any of that.
What I did see was that when opened and viewed in Paintshop pro X2 the picture was the same.
When opened and viewed in PS CS4 extended the red color was noticeabley washed out.
I must have something adjusted wrong in PS.

  • Some pictures don't fit ipad screen

Some of my pictures don't fir my ipad screen

When I look in ituns, I see a bunch of apps down at the bottom.
I didn't realize there was an 11 page maximum.  I guess I'll have to group some apps into folders so that all apps can have a spot on the 11 pages.
