The ! turns up when iPhoto loses the connection between the thumbnail in the iPhoto Window and the file it represents.
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

Albums are logical entries in the iPhoto database - you need to restore fromyour backup to get them back

If you have failed to make sure that any apps purchased on the iphone were transferred to your computer before updating, then you will have to redownload.
Open itunes store, click Purchased, under Quick Links.

IPhoto some of my photos have gotten very small. I don't know how this happened and I can't get them back to normal size. Any ideas?

I have a large iPhoto library, personal. Some of my older photos have downsized to be very small. I am unable to get them back to normal size. I do not know how or when this happened and don't know if I did something to cause it. I have upgraded computers several times. Currently have a 2011 model 27" iMac with 10.7.4. If they really meant that much to you, they would have been copied off to a computer at the earliest possible opportunity.
I personally find it amazing that people get so upset when pictures "accidentally" get deleted and then scream about how important they are. You wouldn't leave important paper work lying around to be lost/damaged/stolen, so why take a chance with important pictures on a device that can so easily be lost/damaged/stolen, or deleted by a child.

After making a phone call, I went to make another and all my contacts were gone. How can i get them back?

I made one phone call this morning and after hanging up i went to the contacts library and all my contacts were gone. It appears I have lost all previously downloaded music including songs I ripped from my own cds..can I get them back? I thought they were saved in the cloud but I cannot find them

I had previously had years worth of Christmas music in my iTunes. When not the holiday season I obviously deslect it so that it does not play. I thought it was all backed up to the cloud, but now upon trying to recover it and resync it to my phone for travelling, I cannot find it anywhere. Is my music gone for good?

Why did you think it was in icloud?
You can redownload some itunes purchases in some countries, but this does not apply to music not purchased via itunes.

You cannot delete the preinstalled apps.
Swipe from screen to screen to look for them.
Check Settings>General>Restrictions and make sure that they are not restricted.
You can also reset the home screen layout and the icon will reappear - but the home screen will return to the way that it looked when you first activated your iPad.
Settings>General>Reset>Reset Home Screen Layout.

Hi..I need help. I downloaded my photos off my iphone4S and put them on my mac. I then deleted them off my phone and it also deleted them off my mac. I am a grandmother and the photos (around 250) were of my newest grandson from the day he was born until his first month. I was with them all that time. If you backed up your iPhone to iCloud before updating the software, first try the steps under "Restore from an iCloud backup" in this article to recover your data:
