My podcast cover doesn't display in itunes an podcast app

Hey there,
I have a podcast feed and I'm used to add new chapters every month. Each chapter with a different cover.
It's been a while since all the cover stopped showing up on itunes and in the podcast app on my iphone.
Am I doing something wrong? Any help?

I checked a couple of random episodes and the images worked fine as in the picture on the right. As I say, you have to be actually playing the episode; you can get the large image up by command-clicking (Mac) or control-clicking (Windows) on the small image at the top.
The individual images will not appear in the iTunes Store itself - they never did.
As I say, I don't have an iOS device so I can't check it there, but I have a feeling that it doesn't handle the embedded images, which would seem reasonable given its method of downloading only a part of the file at a time.

  • Cover Art Doesn't Display for New CDs, Podcasts, etc.

Cover art doesn't display for new items that I add to my 60GB iPod from iTunes. Older items are fine but new CDs, podcasts or songs purchased from iTunes don't display cover art on my iPod. The cover art is there when viewed in iTunes but just doesn't display when they are being played. The problem seems to have started about a month ago. Anyone experience something similar?

Thanks for the suggestion but.... it actually made the problem worse. When I went to the music tab I found that the "Display Cover Art" check box was unchecked so I clicked in the box and the fun began. First thing that happened was the iTunes status box displayed "Deleting covert art from iPod" (definately not what I would have expected) for about a minute then it changed to "Optimizing cover art on your iPod" (that seemed like a step in the right direction) but then I got an error message saying "Can't sync iPod. Unknow error". Closing out the error message ended the process. I was able to eject my iPod after that without any issues but now even more covert art doesn't display (even though when viewed through iTunes its there).

  • Podcast image no longer displaying in iTunes

My podcast has been in iTunes for around two years, but just within the past week iTunes is not displaying the graphic.  The graphic is still there, and the references in the rss.xml have not changed.  Here's a link to the xml file:
    http://www.thesecularbuddhist.com/rss.xml
The graphic reference in that files is:
    <itunes:image href="http://www.thesecularbuddhist.com/images/iTunes_Art.gif" />
Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

I had the same thing happen to me about two weeks ago, poof my image just dissappeared.
I went ahead and emailed the support team about the issue and this was their response:
"Please forward a copy of the image you would like to update your podcast with as well as the iTunes Store URL of your podcast.
To get the iTunes Store URL, right click or option click on the title in iTunes Store.
Please ensure that the image is:
    600 x 600 in dimension
    PNG of JPEG format
    Using RGB colorspace"
I agree with the user above probably a glitch with the Store.

  • ITunes 10.5 on Windows 7 (32bit) doesn't display the iTunes store

    Hello there,
on my Windows 7 (32bit) system, already with iTunes 10.4 I encountered the problem that the iTunes store remained inaccessible - it simply wouldn't load/display. Problem was solved by removing all Apple software, cleaning up the registry, rebooting, reinstalling iTunes 10.4.1, and NOT installing Safari 5.x - because as soon as Safari got installed, the problem would reappear.
Now with iTunes 10.5, the problem is back. Only that this time it does not matter if Safari is installed or not - the store simply won't come up.
I've tried the whole support articles suggestions up and down - to no avail.
It's not a problem of firewall, antivirus, hosts file etc. - the diagnose function says clearly that even https is OK, all settings in the internet options are right, etc. etc. - I've spent days on that, and believe me, I'm sure about it.
The diagnose function says, however, than QuickTime would not be available. No matter if QuickTime IS installed or not, before or after iTunes 10.5 that says it would neither contain nor need QuickTime anymore.
After cleaning out all Apple software and its traces, a reboot, and a reinstallation of iTunes 10.4.1, the store is accessible again - only that iTunes 10.4.1 can't use my iPhone with iOS 5 on it.
So I'm either stuck with an iTunes that CAN access the store, but can NOT sync my iPhone, or with one that CAN syn my iPhone, but can NOT access the store.
Besides, with iTunes 10.5, the separately installed iCloud control panel app simply won't come up - I can click until I get blue in the face...
Obviously, for iCloud control panel, although it is only listed as "recommended", it seems it's actually "required" to have Outlook 2007 or 2010 - and I have Outlook 2003 and do NOT intend to switch to a higher MS Office package.
I got an appointment at the Apple Store nearby now for Wednesday noon - to revert my iPhone to iOS 4. Then I could at least go on using the iPhone until again the first apps won't support iOS 4 any longer, as it happened shortly after the launch of iOS 4 when iOS 3.1.3 wasn't supported any longer.
Oh, I forgot to mention - during the update/upgrade to iTunes 10.5 / iOS 5, the sync destroyed my recent backup and hung - the only way out was to kill the backup process and continue, which resulted in a "new", blank phone. Lost some years' app data and a lot of important bookmarks that way.
Needless to say that the iPhone was my last Apple product ...

After spending another two days on pinning down the iTunes 10.5 blank store page problem, here's the solution to be found: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3372617?start=0&tstart=0
    Look out for "japiohelp".
    In short:
    a) press Windows key + "R", enter "cmd", and press Ctrl+Shift+Enter (= runs as admin)
    b) enter "netsh winsock reset" and pres enter
    c) reboot the computer
    and Bob's your uncle.

  • Music doesn't display in Itunes 11 except in playlist

I have some 24-bit music. I used a product to copy the files to 16-bit accidentally forgetting to change the sample rate. So I add the songs to Itunes and they show up as unknown in Itunes for the icloud status. Then I deleted all of the songs and the files. I made new copies of the songs, this time with the correct sample rate. The songs don't show up under music but I can see them in a playlist. There seemed to be know way to see the songs when displaying the whole collection. So then I deleted all of my music, and said to remove the songs from Icloud. Now this is weird. After doing the global delete, guess what happened? All of the songs that would not display before under Music now display as matched Apple lossless high bit rate and a correct 44.1 sample rate. These are the only songs left, the ones that wouldn't display before.

Turns out my issue was related to a blank folder/file path where the Itunes media folder location is defined in preferences. Sorry if I wasted anyone's time.

  • Movie video artwork doesn't display properly on iPad video app

I have seen the discussion around the problems / solutions regarding the proper displaying of TV shows on the iPad when accessing a shared library, but my problem is with Movie files. The artwork does not display properly. Sometimes the artwork from one movie will be duplicated onto another movie, or they will be all switched around. I have both iTunes purchased movies and converted backups of from my DVD library.
Has anyone else had this problem?
I have tried many things. While I see changes in the displayed artwork, they are generally messed up in one way or another on the iPad when accessing the shared library on my computer.

Curiously enough, if I click on a movie from the shared library on the iPad, the correct artwork shows on the right sight of the window that let's you play the movie or navigate to a chapter. When I go back to the menu screen for all the movies in the shared library, the artwork is still wrong.
Artwork is messed up even for home-created movies - one of them shows a preview screenshot of the Warner Brothers logo instead of the picture I have in the Artwork setting in iTunes.

  • IPod doesn't sync with iTunes on Windows Vista

    Hi there!
    I'm experiencing the following problem:
the iPod charges when connected to my pc, but doesn't display within iTunes (and Windows Explorer). The 'round load' icon displays for 2 seconds in my iPod when I connect it via my USB 2.0, then disappears.
A few times it has appeared, but then I got a message that the iPod isn't functioning properly anymore (with iTunes) and that the iPod needs to be reset.
When I'm chosing the option to restore, I see a window with a downloading bar but it seems to keep hanging. I tried to restore my iPod several times via this procedure, but even if I waited some hours it is still loading, so it seems to keep hanging within this process.
In order to see wheter this problem has already been known and solved, I've read through the knowledgebase.
I have read the following article:
iPod missing in "My Computer" or in iTunes for Windows
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61711
Unfortunately, proceeding through these steps didn't help me further. Also, I read through the following threads:
My iPOD is not being recognized by my computer.....

iPod, when plugged in charges, but doesn't show up on windows, or itunes.
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=736748&tstart=0
The action steps provided within these threads also didn't help me further.
Could you please help me to resolve this issue?
Thank you for your time reading this post, any help is appreciated.

I wonder wheter there is a possibility to add files like screenshots and process dumps in order to give the ability for further analysis.

  • Why doesn't Podcast display in iTunes Store V11.0.2? It used to. It's now blank.

Why doesn't Podcast display in iTunes Store V11.0.2? It used to. It's now blank.

However, for some reason, as of 1.0.3 version of the software it doesn't display Cyrillic Capital Letter Yu (Unicode 042E) in the artists' names.
Is that the only Cyrillic character that does not display correctly? What do you get instead?

  • Why doesn't my podcast cover art show in store but appears in iTunes library after I subscribe?

My podcast cover art is not showing up in the iTunes store: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/liberation-radio/id591038133
As soon as I subscribe via iTunes on my computer and look at the podcast in the Library, the cover art is there. I can't figure out what's wrong. The image is 1400x1400. The original feed submitted to iTunes is here: http://feeds.feedburner.com/LiberationRadio
Can anyone assist? Thanks in advance!

Great, that explains it. We had moved the image to a new URL and actually updated the original feed that we input into Feedburner with that URL ... but we also had Feedburner Smartcast turned on which creates its own iTunes tags and overrides any that may already be in the feed, and the image URL in Smartcast there was the old one.
In any case, we not only updated Feedcast Smartcast with the correct image URL, but we also put a copy of the image at the old URL so that even the URL presently used by iTunes should work.
Any idea how long it takes for the store to update the cover art? Anything we can do to expedite it?
    Thanks!

  • Podcast cover art doesn't sync. Stuck at an old cover art. Help PLZZZZ?

Hi. The Podcast cover art doesn't sync. Its stuck at an old cover art from the previous played episodes. I believe it's showing the cover art from the first available episode even though each episode has a different cover art. Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks a lot. :)

iTunes is looking for a feed at http://feeds.feedburner.com/RogueArrowPodcast . The reason this does not work is that the media file URLs are feedproxy ones which do not end with an extension, e.g. .mp3, so iTunes doesn't recognize them as media files and does not display the episodes. You need to provide a direct URL to the media files.
As to the other feed, the image URL leads to a Photobucket web page hosting the image. This obviously won't work and you need to provide a direct link to the image. The actual URL is
    http://i714.photobucket.com/albums/ww146/amazingbass/Podcasts/RogueArrowiTunes.p ng
However the image is 1024 x 1024 - it must be 1400 x 1400 (and less than 500kB which it is at the moment).
If you submit this feed it will end up as an entirely separate podcast, entitled 'Autologicool Test Feed'. You need to correct the image and then substitute the code in the original feed from which the Feedburner feed is drawn.

  • Latest ep of my podcast doesn't show in iTunes. Subscribers CAN download it. Podcast page shows 'Total: 3 items' but lists only items 2 and 3. RSS feed is validated and fine.

Latest ep of my podcast doesn't show in iTunes store. Subscribers CAN download it. Podcast page shows 'Total: 3 items' but lists only items 2 and 3. RSS feed is validated and fine. How do I get iTunes to display it?

I've used Feedburner many times and never had such a problem. I am a bit confused, forgive me if I ask for questions already answerd. Have you tried updating the podcast in someone elses copy of iTunes? My guess is that the file is bad since it is working in other programs but not iTunes. I would try making a new .mp4 file and podcasting it and seeing if that works.
    Good luck!

  • Why wont my podcast Cover art won't display?

    Hello Help Community,
Really new to podcasting. For some reason, my podcast Cover art won't display. Here's my podcast link: http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/knox-writers-house/id502632953 and here's my blog http://knoxwritershouse.wordpress.com/ I've been trying to figure it out for over a week and I really feel like I'm in the weeds.

Clean the iPhone charging port with a clean dry toothbrush. Dust, dirt, debris is causing a minor short in the charging port.

  • Displaying saved place in podcasts inside iTunes

The iPhone and iPod touch now display half-circles for those podcasts that are half-listened-to. They also display clearly how long the podcast is and how much time is left to go.
I can't seem to make iTunes display the same information. iTunes shows no half-circles. iTunes can display the date and time that the podcast was last fully played, but the "Last Played" column remains blank if a podcast hasn't been finished yet. I can't seem to find any column or other place where "minutes remaining," or other indication of a podcast not having been played all the way through is available.
Right now, when in iTunes, the only way I can see whether a podcast has been partially played is to look in the "Podcasts" item under "LIBRARY" and see if it has a blue dot or not. (Why doesn't the blue dot carry over to smart playlists?) Also, the only way I can determine how much of the podcast has been played is to actually start playing it (thus CHANGING the marker).
It seems strange that the iPhone and iPod Touch display more information about podcasts than iTunes does.
I will put this as a feature request to Apple in their feedback page, but in the meantime, has anyone figured out a way to display this information inside iTunes?

    I want the same feature!
