My podcast play in a high spped

When I use my Itouch to list to podcast these are now playing in a high speed and do not sound right.

On the right hand side of the Now Playing screen right below the scrubber bar is a box with either 1/2X, 1X or 2X. Those are the playback speeds. Tap the box to cycle through the speeds.

  • Podcasts playing back at improper speed after recent iTunes upgrade

    iPod Touch G2
After upgrading iTunes this week (SHARED > Home Sharing is now in the left pane), podcasts now play back improperly. Different podcasts now play back at higher speeds.
Music (songs) plays back at normal speed.
What to do? Do I have do a Restore?
    Thanks.

it's easily done. that's why i always make sure to hit the power button and put it into sleep mode before putting mine in my pocket! (if you double click the home button while it's in sleep mode you can bring up music controls for quick track skips/pauses without having to slide to unlock)

  • Just got iphone my podcasts play but are "distorted" pixels

Just set up the iphone. All is working fine but podcasts only play distortly. Pixel breakup through the whole podcast. I did double check that the podcasts were "formated for ipod" and they were.

kf2007, it could be the way the podcast was encoded. Perhaps it was encoded at a higher quality than what the computer (ARM) processor can handle inside the iPhone.
It's like me trying to play a 1080i HD movie trailer fluidly on my G4 at full size. It doesn't happen. Yet the new Mac Pro's play every frame of the video flawlessly and at best quality.
It's possible the podcast plays fine on your home computer, but the iPhone cannot handle the higher quality (which is overkill for the iPhone) of the podcast. That's my best educated guess.
If you try other podcast videos, you may find that some will play just fine and look great!
    hope this helps

  • ITunes 11.1 and / or the Podcast app on iOS 7 will not allow me to create play lists in iTunes. Is there an app that will allow me to create podcast plays lists and play them on the iPhone running iOS7 ?

iOS 7 will not alow podcasts lists in the music app so we have to use the podcast app
but iTunes 11.1 and / or the Podcast app on iOS 7 will not show podcast play lists created in iTunes (well maybe it does but clicking on the podcasts app causes iTunes to freeze so can not select)
sometime some folders created in iTunes have appeared with the Podcast app but others not.
creating an on the go list in my iphone is agony - I have over 100 podcasts I have subscribed to and when creating a list you can not view by most recently downloadded podcast
AND you can't search (no search bar) so I have to scroll through to find a podcast that might have been updated - but they are not in any logocal order that I can work out (not alphbetical or date added).
Video podcasts are mixed with audio
podcasts I delete (unsubscribe to) keep coming back
    its a disaster
my question is there an alternative iPhone app that works with iTunes
no I don't want an app where I have to download to the phone directly, thats 100 subscriptions I will have to make agaian

Agree about the disaster part. I haven't found a fix within iTunes.
I gave up and switched to downcast 2 days ago. Even though it was a hassle to re-subscribe to all my podcasts, im so much happier.
To make switching easier, I found that in iTunes you can "get info" on the podcast and copy the RSS address to the clipboard. Put all of these in a message note. When iCloud syncs the note to your phone, you can copy and paste the urls into downcast one at a time to subscribe.
Downcast has crashed on me occassionally when I'm subscribing to feeds, but so far it has recovered gracefully each time and no data was lost.

  • Podcasts play one at a time?

Last night was the first real night of using my nano since I got my crystal film. So I was listtening to my podcasts while trying to fall asleep and discovered that, unlike with my shuffle, the podcasts on my nano are categorized into individual subscription folders and therefore once a single podcast plays, it stops. How do I get my podcasts to play one after the other? Is there any way to create a podcast playlist into which I can put them all?

Well thanks to GolfSierra's explanation, I successfully created a smart playlist so my podcasts play sequentially. But I was just wondering now whether it's normal that in addition to my playlist, the nano shows the purple podcast icon in the playlist with all my subscriptions? It was there before which is fine but now when I go to listen to my podcasts on my nano, it's annoying because the word "podcasts" shows up in a couple of different levels - one representing the top level subscriptions and then another one reflecting my smart playlist - and it gets confusing about which one is which.

  • Podcast plays only via link from Apple

My podcast plays when I type this url, that Apple sent to me in my confirmation that the podcast was accepted:
    http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=213721454
but I am unable to hear it if I just search for it by typing "one square mile"--it shows up but doesn't play.
Also, I seem unable to subscribe to it. It is in my playlist but won't sync on an of my iPods.
Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated!!

  • Reversing Podcast Play Order

When I'm listening to podcasts on the Nano 3g, the podcasts play in reverse order. How do I get it to play them oldest to newest, instead of newest to oldest?

I have a 3rd generation nano. I've only had it a few weeks. It did work just as my previous nano used to - I could arrange podcasts in any order in a playlist in iTunes, then load the playlist into my nano and the podcasts would show up as a "playlist" under the "Music" menu, and they would play, in the order I specified, one after the other until the playlist was finished. Suddenly, today, this capability ended. Now, I can load a playlist of podcasts into the nano, but they are no longer filed as a "playlist" under the "music" menu, they are just filed as podcasts in alphabetical order and only one will play, then I have to manually choosed the next one and manually start it.
I think its a firmware issue to do with an "upgrade" to the original, satisfactory firmware the nano came with, or its a software issue to do with an "upgrade" to the iTunes software. Its preposterous. This is the feature I use. I only use the nano to listen to podcasts, which I download from all over the world. I want to set up a playlist of these podcasts and set the nano to listen to them one by one. This nano used to do this for me right out of the box, just as my previous nano did for years, and now Apple has decided to screw it with one of their upgrades. Thanks.
I was perfectly satisfied with my earlier nano but its battery was wearing out and I killed the product by trying to replace the battery. Imagine making a device that you cannot reasonably expect to be able to replace the battery in. Thanks, Apple. I was very happy with this new nano until Apple "upgraded" the firmware and/or software for me.
No more ipods, no more Apple products. How Apple maintains any kind of reputation in this idustry is beyond me.

  • Can podcasts played on apple TV be synced in library and iPhone?

  • Podcasts playing back at 2x normal speed

Since updating my 4G nano with the latest Updater version 5.1, podcasts play at twice their normal speed (sounding like the old time Chipmunks). To fix the problem (each time after powering the nano up), I need to jump to any other podcast during playback. When I do suddenly the playback goes to normal speed. Then I can go back to the podcast of interest and it will also play at normal speed.
Anyone else had this experience with Updater 5.1?

  • What's the best way to have podcasts play consecutively?

I want to have, for example, several NBC Nightly News podcasts play one after the other without having to form a playlist. Is there a way to do this?

I'm afraid no one knows. You have to put them in a playlist.

  • Podcast play back controls not responding on ipad

Podcast play back controls not responding on my iPad. The problem started today. I powered off the iPad and problem not solved. What to do?

I was unable to fix it on my own.  My son suggested that I take it to the Genius Bar at an Apple Store.  Fortunately I was going to be in the city, and was able to make an appt. with the store closest to me.  A very helpful young 'genius' took my iPad in the back room and fixed it.  I don't know what he did, but he said something about 'firmware'.  I don't even know what firmware is, but he said it was unlikely that the problem would recur.  There was a sense that it had to do with the new  IOS6.  If you are able to visit an Apple Store that is what I recommend.  Make an appointment first online at Apple.com.  The service is free and I was VERY grateful to have my iPad restored!

  • Stopping podcast play at the end

In my old ipod, podcast play stopped at the end of each podcast. But with my new ipod touch, play just continues right through to the next one. I really hate this behaviour, for all sorts of reasons. Is there any way to return to the previous behaviour, of stopping at the end of the podcast?

By default, Podcasts are tagged as "Skip when shuffling". So it could be that your old iPod was in shuffle mode, which would then stop playback because of the "skip" setting. On your new iPod, try playing the Podcast with Shuffle turned on, I think you'll find it stops at the end of the Podcast.

  • Podcast plays but no audio.

Can anyone help? When I play some podcasts on the computer they start playing but no audio. The majority of them play just fine but a few podcast plays with no audio. I even downloaded the program fine and tried to play them but again no audio. The itunes and quicktime are all up to date.
