My podcast was deleted, did I lose my subscribers?

Hello,
For a reason I have yet to understand, my podcast was deleted (possibly due to a duplicate feed which I could not seem to get removed). I have checked my feed, and it passes without any problem. So, I've resubmitted and that's all pending.
My reason for posting is because I'm very curious if this means I've now lost all of my fans which have subscribed to my podcast? If so this would be rather upsetting, since we've generated such an impressive following only to suddenly and without warning, lose it all!! To top it all off, this happened just before sending out a mass e-mail regarding our successfully expanding popularity on itunes and referring people to subscribe... so now we're stuck with sending out a follow up e-mail to apologize for technical difficulties! Needless to say, this is going to look super bad on our part, and I really wish we had been given some form of warning before we were dumped... but whatever, I'm just ranting.
Does anybody know the answer to this? I hope the news is good...

Once someone has subscribed to your feed the iTunes Store is no longer involved: their own copy of the iTunes application is reading the feed file directly. So even if the iTunes Store removes the podcast existing subscribers won't be affected, it's just that you can't get new ones that way.
If you resubmit you may possibly end up having to use a different feed URL if iTunes claims the current one already exists: if you do this you will need to maintain both the original and new feeds in parallel in order to keep your existing subscribers.

    When a podcast is removed you should get an email telling so, though irritatingly they never give a reason. In your case the most likely reason is copyright violation - you say you are using 'mixes' and this usually means people are playing commercially issued recordings without obtaining clearance from the copyright owners. This is a breach of copyright and will certainly get you removed from the Store once detected: it also lays you open to being sued by the copyright owners.
    It's possible to create podcasts using 'Podcast Safe' music which is free of copyright restrictions - Google 'Podcast Safe Music'

    No, the versions of iPhoto on the iPad and on OS X are totally different.
    What Apple ID are you using for the Mac App Store? Who else has access to that Apple ID, or what possible other Apple IDs could be in use? It's possible you'll need to purchase iPhoto to get the upgrade, though I'd think Software Update should offer you the correct version.

    You password: You have set it! It might be your passcode or you mioght have set it accidentally, so test all of the passwords you normally use. If you cannot get the password you backup is lost, but you can still sync your iTunes content.

    Your music, etc. is not stored in the iTunes application. It's stored in the iTunes Library which is located in the /Home/Music/iTunes/ folder. If that was deleted then you can recover it from your backups if you have them. If not, then they are lost. But you can re-download them:

    Tom at the Genius Bar told me that Option Delete would work. It does not.
    I had to upgrade to iTunes 11.1.(I26) because it is required with OS7 on my iPod Touch (5th Gen). I have tried shutting down iTunes, then shutting down the entire system. This is the first in many visits that the Genius Bar gave me a solution that did not work.
    This is a big awkward computer locked to my desk. I would rather not unlock it and then carry it through a shopping center to the Genius Bar if i can avoid oit.
    When I installed iTunes 11.1, I discovered that Ihad to resubscribe to virtually all of the podcasts that I had previously been subscribed to. That was a surprise.

    I did not read the rather long post. If you wish to reinstall OS X 10.4, use your software install DVD. Backup is essential. To minimize your risk, I would use an archive and install:

    In that way, you will have a fresh copy of OS X and your current settings will be preserved.
    Incidentally, I do not agree that the printer problem is best solved by reinstalling OS X. I have had HP printers for sometime and, on one occasion, had difficulty after an upgrade. HP technical support walked me through uninstalling all traces of the HP driver and then reinstalling.

    I uses the last version 7.2.2 on MacOS.
    I deleted a few podcasts from an album I subscribed to.
    I know that the podcasts I deleted are still available on the publisher's site.
    Until version 7.1.... It was possible to retrieve old podcasts again by using the command "retrieve old podcasts" (or something like this) (just below "refresh album in the contextual menu). But it seems that this useful command has been removed.
    Is there any way to do it anyway?

  • Users cannot edit a shared calendar of a shared mailbox that was deleted from the cloud and recreated on premise

    Description:
    The following example account [email protected] is an on premise AD account being used as a shared mailbox in the cloud. We have discovered that regardless of what we do, not a single user can edit the calendar entries.
    The following message is shown in Outlook Click to Run 2013 when an entry. "New appointment" button is also greyed out, including "Calendar Permissions" and some others.
    This problem started when the shared mailbox was created wrongly by creating it in the cloud first and we had to delete it and start over. The "in the cloud" user was deleted and the same user was created in AD on-premise with the same account name
    and then Dir Synced with the cloud. A license was assigned, a user mailbox on exchange online created and the type was converted to a shared mailbox and Editor rights were defined on the calendar folder for specific users.
    Actions performed:
    Action01: gave users Editor rights on calendar folder through powershell
    Result01: Rights correctly added and can be seen when get-mailboxfolderpermission is ran
    Action02: Opened calendar with Outlook and tried to edit entries
    Result02: Error message pops up saying "You don't have permission to create an entry in this folder. Right click the folder and check..."
    Action03: Opened calendar with OWA of users
    Result03: Users can edit the shared calendar on OWA
    Action04: Gave users Full Access permission on mailbox with automapping on
    Result04: Users can edit calendar in Outlook
    Action05: Gave users Full Access permission on mailbox with automapping off (mailbox no longer visible in outlook)
    Result05: Users cannot edit calendar in Outlook
    Action06: Removed Full Access permission on mailbox for users
    Result06: User cannot edit calendar in Outlook

    Additional information:
    We have seen this problem with another user which was recreated, when he shares his calendar with others and people get the calendar invite email and click "Open Calendar" they receive a popup "The folder cannot be found".
    My first impression points to a corruption/bug in the GAL on exchange online, since we're using o365 for midsize bussinesses we cannot use the AdressList role to expose the adresslist cmdlts for deeper troubleshooting.
    PS:
    Issue tested on different computers and with different user accounts, not a single user can edit the calendar of [email protected] when editor rights are given.
    Noticed when editing rights for the shared mailbox in powershell after the first confirmation line
    Office 2013 is click to run was updated to latest version, version number: 15.0.4659.1001

    I haven't heard of that one.
    Questions:
    Does the calendar in question show up in the "Subscriptions" category of iCal?
    If you remove all accounts from iCal > Preferences > Accounts and quit and re-open iCal, does the calendar in question vanish? If so, does the calendar come back when you re-input the servers you need into  iCal > Preferences > Accounts?
    Can you provide a screen shot of your calendar sidebar.
    While you answer those questions, some troubleshooting to try:
    Try dragging one of your other calendars above this calendar that won't delete and then quit / re-open iCal and attempt to delete the calendar in question.
    Failing that:
    1. First make an iCal backup:  Click on each calendar on the left hand side of iCal one at a time highlighting it's name and then going to File Export > Export and saving the resulting calendar file to a logical location for safekeeping.
    2. Go to iCal > Quit iCal
    3. Remove the following to the trash and restart your computer:
    Home > Library > Caches > com.apple.ical
    Home > Library > Calendars > Calendar Cache, Cache, Cache 1, 2, 3, etc. (Do not remove Sync Cache or Theme Cache if present)
    4. Launch iCal and test.
    If the issue persists at this point:
    Remove the following to the trash and restart your computer:
    Home > Library > Caches > com.apple.ical
    Home > Library > Calendars > Calendar Cache, Cache, Cache 1, 2, 3, etc. (Do not remove Sync Cache or Theme Cache if present)
    Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.ical (There may be more than one of these. Remove them all.)
    ---NOTE: Removing these files may remove any shared (CalDAV) calendars you may have access to. You will have to re-add those calendars to iCal > Preferences > Accounts.

    I believe now you potentially lose all extensions, plug-ins when you use the new reset function, but you will let me know.
    If that is the case, your find corrupt file method maybe better. However, I reviewed the two help articles and there appear to be more files than just the delete search.json file and a possible search.sqlite file in the Firefox Profile Folder. I am confused. Then I have to find the folders. I think help articles mentioned how to find the profile containing the files, but not sure.
