I just upgraded to OS X Mavericks. However in iTunes, my podcasts are not playing on my iShuffle now even though they show they have been downloaded.
What am I doing wrong?

My 2006 - 2008 Mac Pro running Lion will not play HDV 1080i60 footage in FCP 7. When I open the sequence settings, all HDV codecs are hdv1, hdv2, hdv3, and so forth. However, when I open the project on my other Mac Pro running Snow Leopard and FCP 6, the footage works fine as it does on my newer Imac running Mavericks and FCP 7. I have tried a Quicktime update on the Mac Pro that the footage doesn't work on but it says that I already have the newest version of Quicktime installed. I have also tried reinstalling the Final Cut Pro Studio twice, still no fix. I'm completely out of solutions and need to be able to edit HDV footage on this machine. Any help would be great. Thanks.
there was a recent software update that seemed to screw HDV up. Do some searching here over the last month or 2 and you'll find a bunch of posts and some possible solutions.
Worst case scenario, do as Shane suggests. But might I suggest you take a look at the user tips section of the forum. there are some great tips on how to prevent these sorts of problems by cloning your startup drive, etc. -
I have a MAC running Maverick. MP3 sounds will not play in Safari or FireFox, but will play if you download the file locally to the Desktop. How to resolve this?
You probably have an internet plugin installed that is preventing the MP3s from playing. I just checked a site with an MP3, and it played, rather than downloaded.
The internet plugin folders are at:
/Library/Internet Plug-ins and
~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
(~/Library is hidden by default. Let me know if you don't know how to access it.)
My internet plugins were all in /Library; there were none in ~/Library.
Try moving these folders to the desktop (don't delete them), restarting, and then seeing if the MP3s play.
They it will be trial and error to see which plugin is responsible. -
My Macbook is not playing sound unless i have headphones in. The light in the headphone port stays on even when they are not plugged in. How can i fix this?
You might need to clean the headphone port (I was in the same situation and this worked for me). Dirt, dust, and debris accumulate in the port and eventually the computer registers the debris as headphones being plugged in. After cleaning the issue was resolved.

Yes, the tracks were purchased in the iTunes store. I'm sure that DRM is the culprit. Seems like an obvious answer now that I think about it.

I'm getting pretty tired Apple Products, having to fix problems after every upgrade, my Ipod will not play some of my podcasts in order.
All songs play on the laptop windows 8. The second Ipod touch we have - all songs synch to it and play.
But the first Ipod touch we bought - only half (or so) of the songs synch. So I assume there is an issue with the newer Ipod touch. The songs not synching are songs I added to the library from CD's. -
I've bought and downloaded music from itunes, but the ends of almost all my songs are cut off and will not play, how can I fix this? Most of the music cuts off abouthalf way through the song, then it skips to the next one. Itunes also says I have not purchased the album though it is listed under my purchased albums. It's incrediabley frustrating, please help.
go to the itunes store. select more in the bottom right select purchased. then press the cloud icon to DL striaght to the phone. Id use wifi. you can also DL into computer then synv over to phone.

You can recover Your music but not with original names.
1. Go to Your iPod hard disk
2. You must to see hidden files (if you don't see them go to in system explorer to Tools > Folder Options > View > and mark Show Hidden Files)
3. Go to folder named iPod_Control
4. Copy folder Music - this is Your music but not with originally names

I have a iTunes account and recently 2 of the song I have downloaded will not play, it says that it not authorised to play. How ever on the same day the other songs I downloaded that day are playing fine. I can't play the 2 song on my lap top and I-pod.

It sounds like you are unable to play a couple of songs from your library becuase you get a message that the computer is unauthorized to play, but other content purchased that same day works without issue. I would verify that the affected songs were purchased with the same Apple ID first:

Open iTunes
Highlight one of the items you have purchased (You can find your purchases in your Purchases playlist).
Choose File > Get Info.
Click the Summary tab.
The Account Name area will list the account used to purchase the item. Unless you have changed accounts, this is your iTunes Store account name.
If so, then delete the songs:

I have updated to iTunes 10 and now my unchecked songs are playing... I don't want this and can't figure out how to have it like it was before (not playing unchecked songs). Please help! I leave the unchecked songs in there b/c there will come a point in time where I want to listen to these songs but right now I don't.
yes, 10.3.1, iTunes already restarted, menu settings already like that and still it will play all unchecked songs (including the checked songs of course). Why even have check and unchecked if the program is going to play all of them anyway?!

I upgraded from an iphone 4 to a 4s, after a few initial problems and two restores, everythings seemed to be working...until I went to play some music, all music loaded to itunes via CD's played, but ALL purchased music from itunes does not play...i click on the song and the screen flashes to the image then goes back to the list of songs, so the purchased music shows up...just does not play. Can anyone help resolve this problem? Thanks!
here is an interesting thing: take the iphone and set lock screen to never. Now make an email with siri--be sure to activate her with call button. get to the body and get some text in there. then just stop talking. LOCK SCREEN APPEARS!!!!!! and of course you draft is gone.
There does seem to be a work around for some--maybe all these issues. Don't use the call button--use the buttons on the phone.
Siri seems to behave properly with scenerio above---sans call button. She does not go to lock. -

Hello, I just downloaded holiday music that I only want to hear a couple of days out of the year. Is there a way to remove these songs from my library so they do not play when I shuffle my entire library, and can I re-call them only during the holiday time?
Thanks!If you're looking at your songs on the music page, the very first column before the song name is a check box. Uncheck any songs you don't want to be picked up in your shuffle. I think that'll do the trick.
If you don't want them on your iphone\pod, you can deselect them on your device menu under settings if you turn off "entire music library". -
How do i get the "part of project not played" error to stop?
My garageband app lately has been absolutely awful and everytime i do any recording will not let me play it back if im playing multiple tracks over eachother. In one project I have there is only one real acoustic track and when trying to record over it I am not able because a message is constantly popping up saying that the project can't be played because it has too many tracks, effects, or notes. I don't understand how this can be the case as I only have two tracks, no effects and minimal notes so there doesn't seem to be any reason why the project shouldn't be able to be played or recorded in real-time. Any help/suggestions are greatly appreciated.

is your profile signature "GarageBand (Mac) '11, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5)" still current? Just in case you already upgraded to OS X Mavericks, make sure you updated to the latest version 10.9.2. The 10.9.1 version had problems with the memory management, that have been fixed in the new update.
You can check, how much memory is used by your applications from the "Activity Monitor" utility. You will find it in the "Utilities" folder in the "Applications" folder. Launch it and click the "Memory" tab, to see which applications are competing with GarageBand for the memory and should better be closed.
To free as much memory as possible at once, restart the computer, if you are continually seeing "Part of project not played". -
Have Ipod Touch 2nd Gen. 64 gig. I noticed that my music will not play alphabetically anymore. Don't know exactly when this occured. I checked all my settings so doesn't seem to be that.Apple no longer is upgrading this unit..I use windows XP but don't believe this is an issue since i have read posts saying this is not the problem..right now am converting my higher bit rate music to see if that changes anything. I also turned off my unit and the next thing am going to do is a restore if this doesn't work. Anyone find a fix for this yet? I also see that this is not a unique problem to Gen 2 units and is occuring on newer units as well..thank you all for any advise...
