My pointer, becomes a hand and it will not activate message in email when I scroll over the message I would like to open. How can I eliminate the hand tool?

The answer depends, in part, on which website you use for email. Volunteers often have accounts on Gmail, Yahoo mail, and Outlook.com (formerly Hotmail). Other sites might require more guesswork...

When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.
(2) Remove your mail site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, try either:
* right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
* Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
In the dialog that opens, you can remove the site's cookies individually.
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?

firefox disabled my version of java, i went to the free download site to get the newest version, clicked on download then doubled click on it in the download list, this should have started the intallation but instead i got a message saying i needed an application to open the link and wanted me to choose an app. Install box did not come up as it has with other downloads. Did the ringtone come as an attachment? If so just save the file. If you downloaded it when you opened the email it should be in your downloads.

Rewards - I have plenty of points and my account is in good standing. When I hover over the Place Bid button, a hand appears but I can't actually bid on anything. What's the deal?
I'm glad you are taking advantage of Smart Rewards, holla2012. When attempting to place a bid, have you noticed if the time on the item is near expiration? Have you tried clearing your cookies and cache on your browser?

Did you just update to BUGGY OS 4.x???
All the updates starting with OS 4.x have completely screwed up most iPod Touch', especially older models like Gen 2 and 3.
Inability to connect to any WiFi.
Fluctuating WiFi signal no matter how close you are to the AP.
Drastically shortened battery life, even when in sleep mode.
And Apple hasn't done a **** thing since irritated owners have complained about it since the middle of 2011!!
(I am one of many thousands affected!) Look at older threads by searches of "Fluctuating WiFi", Terrible Battery Life, for the Touch and iPhone.
This is why I bought an Android tablet instead of an iFad this Xmas. Non-existant Apple support!

I am trying to finish the installation of Reader from Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Design Premium and it will not let me proceed because it says "Please close the following applications to continue. Google Chrome.exe" , I don't have any Chrome applications open and I have even gone to Add/Remove Programs and removed Chrome from my PC. Still get error. Any advice?

I have some information for you that can help you troubleshoot this issue a little further. That information can be found right here:
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 15 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.

I have an iPhone 4S iOS 6.1.3 on Verizon. My iMessage and FaceTime will not activate.
I have wiped my phone multiple times trying both setting up as a new iPhone and restoring from back up.
I've also reset the settings and network settings.

Imessage and facebook will not activate
I have changed my apple ID password, and since then my imessage and facetime will not activate, it says: "Could not sign in. Please check your network and try again." My internet connection is fine, my username/new password have been entered correctly, my time/date are correct, I have the latest software installed, and I have turned it on and off again, yet the same problem keeps arising.
