My pop up blocker option is no longer there when I go to Tools, content

I have no place to check "block pop ups". I normally go to tools, options, content but it's not there anymore.

Block pop-up windows should still be in Options > Content.<br />
The two others for images and JavaScript have been removed.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.

help. I have a Google Hangout in 40mins and my sound seems to have vanished. I went to Sys Prefs and it came up with Digital Out....and the Internal Speakers option is no longer there. How do I reboot, or fix this please?

There are many possible causes for this issue. Take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. Some may not apply to your model. Back up all data before making any changes.
    1. Start with the steps recommended in this support article. Don't skip any of the steps. It's the starting point for further efforts to solve the problem.
    2. Make sure you have a fully up-to-date installation of OS X.
    3. If you've installed an application called "Memory Clean" or any other third-party software that is supposed to "clean" or "purge" memory automatically, remove it according to the developer's instructions and restart. You should do that even if the software is not causing the problem, because it's useless.
    4. Other third-party software that has been reported to interfere with sound output includes "Boom" and "Samsung Kies." If applicable, uninstall according to the developer's instructions (not by dragging something to the Trash.)
    5. If an AirPlay device is selected for sound output from iTunes (or from other applications via third-party software such as "Airfoil"), deselect it.
    6. Launch the application "Audio MIDI Setup" by entering the first few letters of its name in a Spotlight search and selecting it in the results (it should be at the top.) Select Built-in Output from the list on the left. If the Mute boxes are checked, uncheck them.
    7. If a red light is visible in the audio-out port when sound should be playing, the internal switch is stuck in the position for digital output. You may be able to free it by inserting and removing a mini-stereo jack of the proper size. If not, the machine needs to be serviced. Inserting any kind of tool in the port may cause damage that won't be covered by the warranty.
If there's no red light, the switch may still be stuck in the headphone position. Try to free it the same way.
    8. Disconnect all wired peripherals except keyboard and mouse, if applicable. If more than one display is connected, disconnect all extra ones. Restart and test.
    9. If you have a MacBook Air, turn off Bluetooth and restart.
    10. Start up in safe mode. Don't log in; just restart as usual when the login screen appears. When you do, make sure the words "Safe Boot" do not appear in the login screen. If they do, the system is still in safe mode and sound won't work.
    11. Reset the NVRAM.
    12. Reset the SMC.
    13. Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    /Library/Preferences/Audio
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item selected. Move the selected item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password. Restart the computer and empty the Trash. Recreate your settings in the Sound preference pane.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination  command-C. In the Finder, select
              Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
    14. Reinstall OS X after backing up all data.
    15. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store.

I want to delete my payment information on iPhone 4 but the the NONE option is no longer there. Please help

    As provided:
You need a payment method. If you don't have a credit card, then redeem an iTunes gift card. You'll then get the "None" option.

  • How to indent second line in a very long heading when creating a table of contents?

I need to make a table of contents.
Some of the chapter headings are very long and fill more than a single line.
When I create my table of contents, I want the second lines to be 'pushed in' in the table.
    Like this
    1 chaper one xxxxxxxxxxx
    2 Chapter two xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
3 Chapter three x xxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
         xxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxx
    4 Charpter four xxxxx xxxxx
5 Chapter five xxxxxxxxxx xxx xxxxx xx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
         xxxxxxxxx xxxx xxxxx
I thought I had solved it by having the actual chapter headings indented like this, but the table of contents overlooks this/overrules this.

  • Pop up blocker options when a pop up is detected

When firefox blocks a pop up it gives a warning with options at the top of the page. Instead of opening the page I selected do not show this again. How do I get this warning to show when a pop up is blocked?

Depending on which Internet Browser you are using there should be a setting to turn off any Pop up Blocker within specific sites such as your BTYahoo email pages. You will usually find the settings within the tools menu of the browser.

    HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!

    BOB we need you urgently
Perhaps Bob will see this thread, he is the professor in these cases.
You do not use a WEP password but wpa/wpa2 on router and equipment.
All equipment connects to WiFi, but for your iPad.
Even with all other equipment WiFi off, you cannot connect your iPad.
Your iPad connects to other WiFi nets correctly.
All resets etc done on iPad and Router.
Still I am not sure it is your router for sure, frustrating...
I want to test 2 other things:
    1. in your iPad, set everything OFF in Settings/Cellular, turn off/then/on your WiFi, and see whether it will still not connect...
    2. If that does not do it: disconnect the router as well as the modem from the power, for 15 seconds, then reconnect the modem, let it fully start, then reconnect the routet let it fully start, turn of your WiFi in iPad, then on, and see whether it will connect.

  • The 'Move to group' option is no longer listed when I right-click on a tab. I hope this is a sick joke & will be fixed quickly.

Before the latest update, I could always right-click on a tab and move it to a group in the Panorama feature. In Firefox 10.0.2, the option to move a tab to a group is gone.
Please fix this quickly. This has to be a lame-ass joke by some developer.

    Hi TBolt,
I'd try starting Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] as this feature is still there. If you don't have the issue while all of your add-ons, extensions, and themes are disabled, you can try adding them back in one by one until you find the culprit. You should look at the [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting-extensions-themes Extensions and Themes troubleshooting guide ] and the [[Troubleshooting plugins]] article as well.
    Hopefully this helps!

  • Why does the pop up blocker bar not always give you the option to view a blocked pop up?

Usually when Firefox notifies you that a pop up has been blocked it gives you the option to view the blocked pop up. However, sometimes that option is not there. Typically this isn't a problem at all but once in a while there will be a pop up that I wish to view but there is no option to view it. Does anyone know why the pop up blocker will sometimes give you the fourth option to "Show 'www.blockedwebsite.com'" and sometimes will only give you the three options of "Allow pop-ups for the site", "Edit Pop-Up Blocker Options", and "Don't show this message when pop-ups are blocked"? How can I view a blocked pop-up when it only provides the first three options and not the fourth option to view it? I hope my question was clear enough. Thanks in advance!

It is possible that you run into this maximum (the default value is 20):
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/dom.popup_maximum
To open the <i>about:config</i> page, type <b>about:config</b> in the location (address) bar and press the "<i>Enter</i>" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.<br />
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.<br />
*Use the Filter bar at to top of the about:config page to locate a preference more easily.
*Preferences that have been modified show as bold(user set).
*Preferences can be reset to the default or changed via the right-click context menu.

    Hi Raghuramkonduru
This is a frequently asked question so I have copied and pasted the following from https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1033325 :
    <blockquote>
There are no Pop-up Blocker Options in Firefox for Android. However, if you wish to disable Pop-ups, you can follow these instructions:
    # Type about:config in the address bar
    # Search for dom.disable_open_during_load and set it to false

  • Pop-up Blocker does nothing

Why do I have pop-ups popping up all over when I have the 'block pop-ups' box checked?
    spr

Yeah well we shouldn't have to install 3rd party Apps if a feature is available in the main software otherwise APPLE shouldn't add it or market it when they are releasing new Safari versions.
Seems more like they should do a more regular update to accommodate the hack/ workarounds that have come out for the past couple of years.
My pop-up Blocker seems to no longer work on regular sites I visit lately and it's getting tired.
Apple has really done nothing to address anythinig regarding this in the last couple of years when sites have either changed the javascript implementation or found a comepletely new workaround to bypass their Blocker altogether.
Seems like Apple in this matter is getting to be complacent like Microsoft did w/ Explorer for the past decade. I use Apple's products to avoid having these type of "Microsoft-style" issues.
Safari has been the lesser of the "evils" in regards to browsers in recent years and its still one of the more easy to use on a Mac - however this pop-up Blocker issue is making me rethink my use of Safari altogether and revisit other Browsers instead.
Apple's main problem as a company in general is they get very narrow minded when it comes to product development and they let most of what they are not focusing on linger for years before they bother doing anything w/ them and this has started to become more and mroe apparent in recent times.
Its not a big deal w/ products like TextEditor as there's not much to a basic text writing app. But when the Internet has become a main focus of modern society and Apple's primary App that allows access to it becomes antiquated and sloppy (even tho they add in "modern features" like HTML5 support - which by the way has not been finalized by the Standards bodies yet - and Bing Search - who the he!! cares] it starts becoming an issue.
So Apple - if you are going to highlight a "feature" of a product on 2 major Version Releases - v4 and v5 - then you might want to keep it updated a little more frequently.
Especially in light of how you were constantly releasing updates to iTunes to specifically combat the Palm Pre from accessing your software or how the iPhone gets rapid updates to throw off the jailbreak community. If half that effort went into updating security for Safari I wouldn't be here moaning about how your software is sliding downhill.

  • Flex: two projects, one OK, other POP-UP blocker

I created a sample application with Flex after compiling and saving runs OK with default IE browser.
I imported another application but before showing in IE a pop-up blocker shows up.
Is there any configuration I should include in one of the files to prevent this for the application imported?  (There is no navigatetoURL in the application I imported)
    Kind regards
    HPatino

I had exactly the same problem. Would like to know if someone can solve it.
By the way, my iPod Touch could only play lecture 1 of the Programming Paradigm course. All the remaining lectures starting from lecture 2 have the same problem of only audio plays but no video.
They could be played correctly on iTunes though.

  • Pop Up blocker exceptions are not saved in the browser for use, the next time the PC reboots. How do you save these exceptions for long term use?

Pop Up blocker exceptions are not saved in the browser for use, the next time the PC reboots. How do you save these exceptions for long term use?

In case you are using "Clear history when Firefox closes":
*do not clear the Site Preferences
*Tools > Options > Privacy > Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history": [X] "Clear history when Firefox closes" > Settings
    *https://support.mozilla.org/kb/remove-browsing-search-and-download-history
Note that clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, passwords, and other website specific data.
If you have software like Advanced SystemCare (Surfing Protection feature) that might reset some files to older versions to protect these files against changes then check the settings or uninstall this software.

  • The spry pop-up menu I built in Adobe Dreamweaver worked fine in my old Firefox, I updated Firefox today and the menu no longer works--despite disabling the pop-up blocker in Firefox preferences...what's the problem??? I need the menu to work!!!

I built a new pop-up menu for my website using Spry in Adobe Dreamweaver. Because of some differences in .HTML and .XHTML
it took me days to get it right. I tested every variation in Firefox until it worked perfectly. Today, I installed the newest version of Firefox and now the pop-up no longer works. I changed the preferences in Firefox to disable to pop-up blocker and it STILL DOESN'T WORK...although an older style of pop-up menu (menu machine) which is no longer supported by Adobe, DOES WORK.
    HELP!!! THIS IS IMPORTANT.

    pixlor:
OP is using CS3 and the menu blog is talking about the menus
    in earlier
versions of FW, so *most* of the points made in the blog
    don't apply.
That's not to say that using CS3 pop-up menus is a *good*
    thing....
