My printer keeps jamming the paper

How can I stop the paper from getting jammed in my printer.  It has happened 10x in a row.

Hey arl123. Could you post a little more information about your setup? Here is a quick list that should allow us to troubleshoot the issue.
What printer your using?
What operating system your using?
What application(s) are you printing from?
Thanks!

  • My 2210 all in one printer keeps giving the message "Remove and check cartridge"

    My 2210 all in one printer keeps giving the message "Remove and check cartridge." Although I go through procedures outlined in manual, message keeps reappearing. Suggestions?

    Hello again!
    Still having problems but here's more info: Checked "Resume" but  Message next to the job says ERROR but that 'Pinter is ready'.
    However, on the PRINT & FAX page in System Preferences it has 'Idle' next to the psc1317 (default) printer.The computer scans the document but wil not print it. With printer off I disconnected the power cable and the USB from the computer then re-connected after 1 minute.  When I turned the printer back on it printed the test sheet but not the document.  I have also unistalled then reinstalled the hp1317 Snow Leopard software and driver and computer says that all software is up to date. Apart from a dodgy connection I have no idea where to go from here!

  • C7250 All in One Printer keeps jamming papers that are printed from Word

    I have already followed all directions shown in the videos in support and this has NOT fixed the problem.
    The paper is jamming in the left hand corner when looking inside the printer.  Something is too tight and catching the paper. Any suggestions?
    Where can I take the printer to be fixed or do I have to send it to HP? If so, I;'ve been told it could cost me as much as a new printer. This printer is only possibly 2 years old.  Any ideas??

    I was having the exact same problem and came across this solution and it work!!!!!
    I have seen this suggested in a HP Support Forum. See if it solves your problem:
    1. Go to your printers folder, right-click on (the network connected) printer that you are having the problem with and select "Properties"
    2. When the properties window opens, click on the "Ports" tab.
    3. Near the bottom of the Ports tab window is a check box for "Enable bidirectional support", uncheck it and click "OK"
    Good Luck

  • Why does my printer work but the paper comes out blank. ink cartridges are full.

    My printer sounds like it is printing but the paper comes out blank.  The ink cartridges are full.

    What printer model - there are about a dozen HP Photosmart Premium models including the c309a, b, c, g, h and n and the c410a,b,c,d and e.
    There are a few things to check - I would suggest running up to three cycles of print head cleaning from the front panel or toolbox.   Do copies also come out blank?  Try the steps in this page, starting at about Solution 6.  Does any ink at all print on the test page?
    For some models there are firmware updates available that are only delivered through the web connection.  Make sure the printer has been connected and perform any updates that are available for the firmware.

  • The paper in my wireless printer keeps jamming

    Use a flashlight to look in the front/top door and then remove the rear door and look in there.  Even the smallest scrap of paper or label can cause this.

  • My printer will not print text but the paper will go through real fast

    my printer hp deskjet845c will not print text document but will go through the printer with no text on it

    Hey there  @d888-777!
    Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!
    I should be able to provide some suggestions that may resolve the issue regarding text document not printing.  Do you get this issue when printing all text document or from specific programs?
    I suggest running a cartridge cleaning from the HP Toolbox.  If the clean cartridge document prints with text, then you may be looking at a slight software issue.  To run a print cartridge cleaning I suggest following this link regarding Cleaning the Inkjet print cartridges.  In the document scroll down to cleaning the Inkjet print cartridges and follow the steps.
    The printer does not have full feature software for Windows 7 operating system.  The printer will need to use the basic in-OS print driver.  I suggest removing the printer from the devices and printer menu and re-adding the printer.
    To remove the printer from devices and printers:
    Press the Start button.
    Press devices and printers on the right column.
    Select the printer and click remove device.
    Unplug the USB cable.
    Restart the computer.
    To add the printer back:
    Wait for the computer to restart.
    plug in the USB cable.
    Windows 7 should locate the basic print drivers and install the printer.
    You may not have all the functions available for the printer with the basic drivers.
    Pease post back and let me know how everything goes!

  • My printer keeps losing the connection to my wifi network

    I have tried deleting and adding again. Sometimes it works but then it goes down again. I have tried two different printers. I recently changed our wifi to password protected, but I have set it up on the printers and they recognize and connect. It is my computer that cannot find the printer.

    Anything is possible but I don't know how I would know that. We have a wirless network that serves my imac, a pc desktop, a laptop, and various mobile devices, as well as the printer. It just seemed to stop working on the network. I downloaded all updates. I am going to remove the wireless printer form the mac for now so that the others can use it. I will hook up a usb printer to the mac. Though that seems so ridiculous. I have tried everything else I can think of.
    Is it possible that my modem or router are causing the problem? I just commuication error every time even though the signals and network seem to be performing just fine.

  • My printer acts like its printing but its not printing anything on the paper

    I have tried all I can think of. I have unplugged the printer from computer and electricty. I have removed device and reinstalled. I have no idea what happened. It was working the other day and then all of a sudden it is doing this.

    Hey Athanagild,
    What model printer?
    Does it print from the front panel (test/config page)?
    Thanks,
    dan

  • Paper jam?? the paper slides to the side of the printer? why is it moving?

    HP Deskjet 1000 printer.  Paper jam the paper moves and actually crinkles up at then end of the paper??? The paper is aligned correctly? HELP this printer is less than six months old.

    I'm assuming you get 'paper jam' error messages at the same time?
    Here's a page that shows how to deal with persistent paper jam messages.

  • Stop rolling the the paper out in dot matrix priner once the print is done

    Hi,
    I have used the below code to print a document and the printer used is dot matrix But,it rolls out the page once the print is done.
    I want to control the printer so that it stops rolling out the page once the print is done. Or set the print based on the paper size and stop rolling the paper.
    public void Print_Doc(string Path)
    try
    Microsoft.Office.Interop.Word.Application word = new Microsoft.Office.Interop.Word.Application { Visible = false };
    Microsoft.Office.Interop.Word.Document doc = new Microsoft.Office.Interop.Word.Document();
    // where did you get this file name?
    // as you mentioned, you open your word document here
    doc = word.Documents.Open(Path);
    // in your button click handler, just call PrintOut() function
    // if doc == null, open the document
    if (doc == null)
    // here i assume fileName has been assigned
    doc = word.Documents.Open(Path);
    doc.PrintOut();
    catch (Exception ee)
    MessageBox.Show(ee.Message, "Exception", MessageBoxButton.OK, MessageBoxImage.Error);
    return;
    Please help me resolve this,
    Thanks,
    Shreyas M

    Not so much wpf there.
    Keep an eye out because this thread may be moved to another forum.
    I think Word will "throw" the page at end.
    You could check the advice here:
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/kb/233493?wa=wsignin1.0
    See if you have an unwanted page break or something like an outsized table which is making it think it needs to print more.
    You might get lucky.
    Hope that helps.

  • I am having trouble printing from my computer. The printer keeps giving me an error message.

    I have an hp officejet 6500A printer, i am having trouble printing from my computer which is an hp windows 7 64-bit  to my computer. I keep recieving an error message on the printer stating that the paper size or type does not match. What do I need to do to get my computer to print to my printer?

    Hi - A couple of things to try.  First, in whatever app you're in, go into File, Print and Printer Properties and set the paper size appropriately.  After that, go into Page Setup in whatever app you're in and set the appropriate size in there as well.  In many cases, this problem is caused by different sizes being set within the printer driver and the app.  If that doesn't work, go back into Printer Properties and try choosing a different paper type (Plain Paper).  I've also had that resolve the problem before.
    Hope that helps.

  • Have hp laserjet 3015dn that keeps jamming. seems to be false jam?

    I have an HP LaserJet 3015 DN that keeps giving me a jamming message.  When I follow the instructions on the display, I open the paper tray and then the top front door and remove and replace the toner cartridge and then close everything up, the printer starts working again.  Nothing ever seems to be really jammed .  This seems to be a "false"jamming situation.  Anyone have any ideas?

    When you use the ADF you place the printed side of the paper in the up positon.  The roller that moves the paper rolls over the top of the page which over time causes ink from the pages to cause the roller to become slick.  What I usually do is clean the pickup roller with warm soapy water and then dry.  If that does not help, then you need to replace the roller assembly. http://www.precisionroller.com/doc-feeder-parts-for-hp-color-laserjet-cm2320nf/details_42082.html
