My printer will not power on after a paper jam

Cord checked, outlet is live. Reset USB. Any ideas? It is an HP Photosmart C310A and it was working fine before this.

I had a paper jam this morning and cleared it out completely.  I keep getting a message on my HP ENVY 4500 that says the print carriage cannot move.  Open the ink cartridge access door, clear any paper jam or obstruction, ensure ink cartridge levers are lower and snapped.

  • My brand new iMac will not power up after an update restart, any suggestions?

Any suggestions on why my IMac will not power up after it done a restart?

Try an SMC reset and PRAM reset: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3603
    If that doesn't help:
See if it will start in Safe Boot: restart holding down the Shift key until you see a grey progress bar, type your admin password when prompted, let it continue to (hopefully) boot. Restart as normal from the Apple menu.
If that didn't help, try booting into the Recovery HD: restart holding down Command+r and choose Disk Utility from the four choices when they appear on screen. Once DU has launched select your Macintosh HD on the left and click on 'repair disk'. If anything gets changed click on repair disk again until you get a clear pass, restart as normal from the Apple menu.
If you still have problems, give AppleCare a call.

  • My ipad will not power on after update. I have tried connecting to computer which doesn't recognize it. I have pushed top and circle buttons at same time. It had a battery charge before it died.  I tried to stop the upload and am afraid it 'crashed'

My first genteration ipad will not power on after update. I have tried connecting to the authorized computer which won't recognize it - does not acknowledge a device is plugged in. I have pushed top and circle buttons at same time. It had a battery charge before it died.  I tried to stop the upload midway and am afraid it 'crashed'

Try putting it into recovery mode.
Connect iPad to your computer via USB while it's turned on.
    Open iTunes
Hold the iPad's Sleep/Wake switch (power button on the top of the iPad) down until the "power off" slider appears.
Power off the iPad completely (wait for the progress spinner to disappear).
Hold the Sleep/Wake switch AND the Home button down for a full 10 seconds.
After 10 seconds (the second time you'll see the Apple logo on the screen) release the Sleep/Wake switch while still holding the Home button.
Continue to hold the Home button for another 10 seconds until the USB connection image appears on the iPad's screen, then release the Home button.
A pop-up message will appear on iTunes saying it has detected an iPad in recovery mode, you must restore...
Click on the "Restore" button and the process will begin.

  • Iphone 4s will not power on after ios 6.1 install

iphone 4s will not power on after ios 6.1 install. Help

This did not help the problem. History of problems that started 3 days ago before 6.1 update:
Problems started with the phone dropping a call I was on. Then the screen had lines across it, then screen turned solid green.
    Powered off the iphone.
Happened again 4 hours later. Dropped call then garbed screen. Powered off then back on all seemed okay.
Applyed 6.1 yesterday in the morning. Phoned died completely last night. Plugged in over night and it came back up this morning.
Phone is still within  1 year warranty. Should I just have Apple replace the phone (Warranty runs out in 2 weeks)

  • HP Pavilion a1123c - will not power on after being unplugged while in use

    So bit of panic:
I've been using the above computer since 2007 with the expected wear and tear, slowing down. Today it was put through its paces and while on a multimedia-hwavy web page it became unresponsive to the point I could not even bring up the task manager to restart. Being a computer noob, I unplugged the computer to force a reset. It now will not power on with or without the power source. While plugged in the LED flashes rapidly. When unplugged the LED flashes but more slowly. I have tried flipping the voltage switch on the back but still my computer won't turn on.
I have all of my digital photos on this computer and am terrified of losing everything. What should I do? Is there hope of the data being salvageable? Thank you all so much.

Assuming erico 's advice fixes the situation, please make backups of the important data -  such as photos or other important documents to a DVD or flash drive or external hard drive.
If the power supply troubleshooting guide does not fix the problem, there are ways to still make the backups of that important data, on a working computer from the failed computer.  Just come back with the report on whether the advice from erico worked or not.

  • Droid Razr will not power on after new update.

I have the Droid Razr and attempted to download the new update this morning.  My phone has powered down and will not power back on.  I have done the forced re-start several times & nothing.  The phone starts to power-up and turns right back off.  My phone was fully charged before I attempted to install the update.

Try holding power + vol up and vol down keys simultaneously (all at the same time).  It should bring you to the bootloader menu, use volume down to go to recovery, press volume up to select it.  An android lying on his back will appear, press the volume up and down keys at the same time, hold for about 5 seconds and release.  Scroll down to wipe data factory reset, use the power button to select it, it will go back to the main menu, scroll down to wipe cache, back to main menu and restart device.  If that doesn't work, try Verizon support on the phone and/or bring it in to your local Verizon store.

  • HP P1102w printer will not wake up after sleep (wireless setup, win8)

Bought this printer a month ago.  I have no problem with both LAN +Wireless setup.
    Windows8 OS
I noticed once the printer is not on (goes to sleep), it will not wake up by itself.
According to manual, if I send a print job, it should wake up by itself.
Currently, this is what I need to do.
I need to physically turn off and turn on the printer, wait for 10-15 seconds until the wifi blue light is solid (no blinking)
and then send my print job, and it will work
Just wondering whether HP has a solution to this, thanks

  • IPhone will not power on after update

    Dear Apple,
I currently have your iPhone 3GS which I received approximately 18 months ago. However, after updating the OS Software the device has decided to not power on. After speaking to your Apple Support Centre, they booked me an appointment at Apple Bentall Centre, Kingston, London, UK.
My device was looked at by a representative named Vanessa Baldwin who claimed that the device would not power on and that seeing as it is out of warranty, the only option I had was to replace it costing £139. I then asked to speak to the Store Manager Leigh Baigent, who reiterated Vanessa Baldwin's suggestion. He also added that the device would not power on due to a fault on the motherboard and had nothing to do with the battery. I proceeded to explain to your staff that I would expect a £400 iPhone to last longer than 18 months and that under The Sale of Goods Act 1979, a retailer is responsible for the items they sell for up to six years in England and Wales regardless of warranty. Your staff expressed a blank look towards me as if I spoke a foreign language and dismissed my claims.
I am therefore making formal contact with Apple directly to sort the matter.
Any help would be appreciated, please do not give me a story about warranty / insurance guidelines
I look forward to your response.

I would probably advise you to e-mail, or make contact by phone, rather than making a complaint on the Support communities page.
I hope your lucky in succesfully getting a new iPhone however

  • Trouble shooting imac g3, printer will not load, even after a redownload OS

Certain things are not working, including the printer.
I had a power outage and recently downloaded digital camera software.
And first noticed printer is not working and the error message was,
    ( check printer connections)!
I had no changes there, so i tried to redownload the software.
software is there but is NOT recognized in the chooser.
Permissions are run and there is no problem.
Now I know It's time for a new imac, but for now i have to limp this one along.
When redownloading the OS from 8.6 to 10.3.9, the classic would not let me change the
extensions to mac OS all, for each upgrade?
So I 'am thinking some setting is wrong or somthing is fried?
But I desperately need my printer.
Maybe the printer is fried, has power and software is there?
    Any help woud be appreciated.

"I had no changes there, so I tried to redownload the software. Software is there but is NOT recognized in the chooser."
Does this printer have pre-OS X drivers?
"When redownloading the OS from 8.6 to 10.3.9, the classic would not let me change the extensions to Mac OS all, for each upgrade?"
What do you mean "redownloading the OS from 8.6 to 10.3.9?" Classic requires at least OS 9.1 (preferably updated to OS 9.2.2), which is independent of OS 8.6. Panther (10.3.x) is a separate installation. Were you attempting to use the Extensions Manager, to solve an extensions problem? When using a third-party printer, it's sometimes necessary to disable these (3) Apple printer extensions (Desktop Printer Spooler, Desktop PrintMonitor, and PrintMonitor) to prevent conflicts with the printer's own drivers.

  • Macbook will not power up after software updates

I got my White macbook last week.
This afternoon, I ran a software update which had 6 items including iTunes 8 and OS X updates to 10.5.5.
I left the software update running and upon my return, the Macbook had powered off and I could not power it up again.
Tried everything in the manual and finally called my reseller for an appointment.
I am very surprised that this happened.
Can anyone provide a similar experience or tell me what may have happened?
    Thank you.
    RJ

iTunes 8 has been known to be killing hard drives on macbooks, so i think that the problem is that your hard drive is toasted/dead. Since its only a week old apple could probably replace it for free for you, but theres a big chance all your data is lost. Also try removing the battery and putting it back in, then start it up. If it starts up but all you see is a folder w/ a question mark it means its corrupt. I would take it to the reseller or an apple genius to check it out (at the apple store)

  • Dv7t-6000 will not power on after small liquid spill on keyboard.

    Hello,
I have a 17 inch Pavilion entertainment notebook. Every since I bought it there have been problems with it going into blue screen of death. HP replaced the motherboard once and the keyboard once. It still freezes up sometimes but it has been working as well as Ive come to expect. I am not so sure that I will buying HP in the future. Anyway, I recently had a small mishap with a bit of broth on the keyboard. It was a small amount and I immediately wiped it off and blew out the keyboard area. But the computer turned off at that moment and I have not been able to get it to power on at all since then.
I am unsure if I should try to take it to a shop like geek squad, to see if it may be salvagable, or try to open it up and have a look. I do have an extra keyboard but I hate replacing HP keyboards because they are put together so delicately. Some computers have just a plug and its easy, but as I recall there is a slot to stick the ribbon cord into and its not easy to get it to stay.
Is there some procedure to get it to power on so I can at least run some tests and see whats wrong with it. Maybe its a short, or maybe its the power supply. The thing is that I cant even get a charging light to come on...so I am thinking maybe power supply.
    Any suggestions would be helpful.
Also I believe that HP sells extended warranties even after the warranty has expired. Is it worth it to try for something like that or should I buy a new one.
When I got this one I think its was around $800+ ...but it seems that if I look around I can get a servicable entertainment notebook for less than that....but this is a quad core with a lot of memory...so, should I attempt to have HP fix it, someplace like geeksquad, or just open it up myself and try to salvage the RAM and such.
    Thanks

  • MacBook Air will not power on after going to sleep

I have a 13" MacBook Air (2012) that has been giving me some issues on and off lately. The past month or two, it has had a few instances where it would take a lot of time and work to get it to "wake up" after the lid was opened. A few times I had to hold the power and reboot it as it was non-repsonsive and would not display anything on screen (black screen). Then a few weeks ago it was un-responsive for a minute upon opening the lid but I eventually got it to come alive but it was very slow to get going as there were quite a few programs running and it auto-rebooted itself. Once I logged in, it did it again but this time it got hung up on the apple logo on boot and was in a cycle of trying to reboot itself but failed at the apple logo. I eventually got it into recovery mode and went into Disk Utility. It found some problems with the hard drive and fixed them. After that, it booted up fine and hasn't given me any problems UNTIL... yesterday, it won't even attempt to power on at all. It was working fine yesterday morning and I was only using Safari (no other programs running) then I closed the lid and left for a few hours with it just sitting there. I didn't take it with me, drop it or anything like that (In fact, it's never been dropped). I just left it right there where I was using it and closed the lid. I came back in the afternoon and opened it up and waited for it to come on but nothing happened. It wasn't even powered on as I put my ear up to it and listened for noise. I've tried holding the power button, I've tried Option+Power, I've reset the SMC, but nothing happens. I don't know what else to try. I believe this model may have a recall on the solid-state-drive but I'm not sure that is it as it should at least power on and display a folder with a "?" mark if the hard drive was bad. I'm wanting to attempt to resolve this before I make a 1.5 hour trip to the Apple store so any help and suggestions are welcome.
    Things you should know:
It successfully resets the SMC as the orange light flashes green for a few seconds before turning orange again.
I've tried the charger with 2 different plugs with and without the extending cord. I've also tried booting on battery power only.
The power button is not broke as it recognizes it while doing the SMC reset.
Thanks so much for all your help, Silas

    dwb wrote:
does the little light on the mag safe dongle turn green to indicate it is charging?
Are you sure you mean green?  Mine is orange when charging and green when fully charged - always been like this with the 3 macbooks I have owned.

  • T61p will not power up after BSOD/shutdown (sometimes...)

In the last couple of days, my T61p has exhibited bizarre "Power" behavior. Yesterday and today, after a BSOD, it would shutdown and get stuck in a loop trying to reboot so I had to to a hard shutdown using the power button. After that, the Power button went dead, and no amount of pressing it achieved anything (A/C only, no battery connected). I tried the unplug power cord, press Power 15 times and hold for 30 sec trick, but to no avail. I had to remove the CMOS battery, unplug the keyboard and plug in the power cord to get it to start. It went to config, I set date/time, saved, and it booted to Windows. After using it for a few hours, I tried a shutdown but while it did shutdown, a few seconds later, it rebooted on it's own. After shutting it down a few times, it finally stayed shutdown. And lo and behold, the Power button started working again. Until today when, after another BSOD, I had to go through the same steps outlined above.
I called Lenovo support, and after telling me my machine was no longer under warranty (no kidding... ), they told me I need a new motherboard. I'm not convinced... Note that I never get any "beeps" signaling hardware issues.
Note that I never get any "beeps" signaling hardware issues, nor do I have any "Hardware Events" in event viewer.
I do however, get BSOD's almost every day. And 99% of the time, they refer to netwlv64.sys, which is a well known issue with the Intel 6945AGN wifi card not being supported in Win 8. Heck, it's been even worse since I updated to win 8.1. I wonder if, at this point, my Windows install has been corrupted by all these BSOD's/shutdowns. I do have a new wifi card on order (already have Middleton BIOS) and I plan to install it and then re-install Win 8 to see if these issues persist, before I go hunting for a motherboard.
    Any thoughts/comments/advice would be appreciated.

Justbob, you can try removing the wifi card, it's not needed to run the laptop and would be an easy way to see if it was causing the problem. As far as windows versions go I prefer to wait at least a year after the release of a new version. Microsoft tends to replace their windows version just after getting the product stable. Windows Seven is very stable on your model as is Vista, which is actually turned out to be a very good OS after the bugs were worked out. Regarding version 8.x, several members have been happy using it on this series and some have not. I haven't seen any clear advantage to upgrading especially considering the cost.

  • My HP Officejet Pro 8600 printer will not power up

All lights are off to my printer. I tried unplugging, outlet is fine, replugging. Nothing happens. Is there an on/off or reset switch? I have only had this printer for a few months...

Hello,  I would suggest trying a hard reset with the unit. This issue could be the powerd cord.  Hard Reset:Unplug the power cord from the printer and wallTake out the toner/cartridgesWait 30 secPlug the power cord back into the printer and wall (Make sure the printer is plugged into the wall and not a surge protector)Insert the toner/cartridges back into the printer Let me know the outcome
