My problems with Nokia Lumia 820

I was a big fan of Nokia until two months back when I purchased Nokia Lumia 820. It's been two months and I'm having tough time with the handset.
First it was the heat issue. I know smartphones are tend to get heated up due to processors. But my mobile gets heated up in less than 5 minutes when I play games like real football, wordament and even simple games. I thought I got a bad device out of the box. When I say heated up it's not warm, its hot and uncomfortable hotness. I can't hold my device until the heat subsides. I visited the Nokia care for raising the heat issue but they said they can't do much and updated my mobile to the latest firmware (1308) and asked me to check after the update and the heat issue is still the same. Just when I thought things can't get any worse it did. My mobile has visited Nokia repair factory already twice in less than two months of purchase. The first major problem occurred three weeks back when the display would be switching on and off randomly and finally the mobile got bricked. The screen went blank completely and the device was unresponsive. Along with that complaint I've again raised a complaint about the device getting heated up uncomfortably. 14 days after I submitted my device to Nokia care I got my device back only to find that the screen isn't responsive to touch in the middle within a week's time. The upper part and the lower parts are responsive, it's the middle strip that's not responding to touch.
I've again given my mobile to Nokia care and they have sent it to the repair unit. In two months of my purchase the mobile has spent more than 4 weeks at Nokia repair outlet. It is still undergoing repair in the Nokia repair factory. I had least expected this from Nokia.
Some of my friends who have windows 8 phones from Nokia haven't experienced any problems so far, not even heating problem. It's safe to say that the problem is only with my device.
It's two months old and I've got it from the Nokia priority dealer.
What'd you call a device which spends more than 40% of the time in the repair factory in two months of the purchase. Even the 3 months EMI's haven't been payed fully.
I've encountered lots of inconvenience after purchasing the device.

i am too having the heat issues..of nokia lumia..820 its been 1 mnth i hav been w8in for my nokia lumia to be in my hand...but..its giving too much problms..it gets soo hot widthinn 5- 1- mins.. highly dat i hav to end up d calll..n i kinda felt sensation on my thumb fingr. ..n i m also havin the hanging up issues..but yesterday my phn was hang n the phn was swwitched off...n its still swtich off..,when i chrg the phn no rexn is seen..
what d hell is going on..n how m i getin a phn ?

Problem with nokia lumia

I have nokia lumia 720 and i am facing some prolems. we can't send any video by blutooth or any other way.
even on whatsapp we can send any video from any phone but is this most advance phone we can't.
why?
2nd there is no fm, as i came to know that in next month we will get windows update. so will the upcoming update solve these common problems?
if not then i am going to buy android.

FM radio should be enabled with the upcoming amber update.

Problem with Nokia Lumia 925

This is what i encountered with my nokia Lumia 925 after 3 days of usage, i am not sure anyone besides me, facing the same problem.
- Overheating, after taking few photos, the phone feel a sudden of heat near the camera.
- Freeze, the phone freeze sometimes, and auto turn off the wifi, when you open it, it says you need to restart the phone, before can turn on the wifi.
- Music + videos apps, when you swipe your music in the apps, the apps freezes, but music still playing. Frustrated when you trying to change tracks.
- Video, i transfer some of my video via windows 8 to the phone, some of it lagging while playing the video. i have try numerous video format, it is still the same. I think it is a software problem. It works fine on my old lumia.
- Auto reboot, my phone has been reboot for 2 times, one time is after a called,another one is after i finish using my wechat application.
Lastly, i love lumia 925, i think the design and the pictures capability are what i really in love with, but i hope someone from nokia could tell me how to solve the above problems.

Hi, Di_vico. Does this mean you are not using the case anymore? Do you have a Lumia 925 as well?
As the concern is present with a case on, try doing the below steps. Let's check if these will correct it.
1. Press and hold the volume down and the power buttons at the same time until you feel a vibration (about 10-15 seconds). Your phone will restart automatically.

Please help!! problem with rebooting lumia 820

I only got my Lumia 820 yesterday and it was fine then today the camera stopped working, i tried taking the battery out, and putting it back in then switching it back on - still no luck. Then i went on the nokia website and looked up the troubleshooting advice where it advised a reboot. I tried the reboot, seemed to be going fine but now it wont switch on properly!! when it gets to the switching back on part of the reboot it vibrates then the nokia logo comes up on the screen but stays like that and nothing else happens!! please help, really dont know what to do!
p.s i stay an hour away from the nearest phone shop otherwise i'd have popped in when it was just the camera not working!

Connection problem with Nokia Lumia 2520 tablet

I found the problem when connecting Nokia Lumia 2520 Tablet to Linksys EA4500 router WiFi network "Wireless-N" mode. TheInternet and local network connection disappears after a few minutes, the ping test fails. In "Wireless-A" mode (5 GHz) and "Wireless-G" mode (2,4 GHz) connection is normal, but i need more speed!
When i have connect this tablet to the other routers in mode Wireless-N connectivity problems do not occur.
Reset the router and the tablet to the factory defaults does not help.
Router firmware version - 2.1.39.145204
Nokia Lumia 2520 have Qualcomm Atheros AR6x04 WLAN Adapter

Disable 5ghz wireless and use only wireless N.

Problem with nokia lumia 720

i bought my lumia720 in the last week of july....right nw i m havin a problem wid it...the screen goes blank n the phone gets hang..den i need to restart d phone manually by pressin volume down and lock button..i am facing dis problm from last few days... i would really appreciate if u can suggest why all dis happenin and a solution to it????

Welcome to the forum!
Does it happen randomly or when accessing a specific application? Did something happen to the phone before the issue started? You can try to check if there's an update available for the device. You can do that under Settings and then Phone update. Just don't forget to create a backup to avoid data loss.
If you recently installed an application prior to this issue, you can also try to remove it and then check if there's an improvement. Let us know the outcome.

Nokia Lumia 820 issues after Lumia Black update...

Before updating to the Lumia Black update:
1. Was able to connect the Nokia Lumia 820 to my home PC using Windows 8.1 and it was able to see the device and files on it as well as sync music from Windows Media Player to the device.
2. Was able to connect to the Nokia Lumia 820 from one of my Office PCs using Windows 8.0 and was able to see the device and files on it.
As well as to manually install Windows Phone 8 applications or install the Windows Phone 8 applications via Microsoft Visual Studio 2012 Ultimate from either PC.
After the Lumia Black update, Neither PC can see files on the Nokia Lumia 820 nor can any application send files to the Phone's Memory Card or Second Memory Card. (SD Class 10)
Very frustrated with the Lumia Black update. Lumia Amber worked just fine.
I haven't changed anything as far as I know on my Nokia Lumia 820 device to cause said issues nor have I abused the device in any way.
PLEASE HELP!!!

Simply wanted to add 3 new audio tracks to the Music files via Windows Media Player but cannot even connect the device like it did less than 45 days ago when everything was working properly.
All my music files are on the SD Card because the file space needed is more than the 7.3 GB on the base memory for the unit. (Something like 8.1+ GB at the present time of 29.8 GB... which is the formatted size of the 32 GB SD Class 10 card.)
When the Nokia Lumia 820 is connected to my home Windows 8.1 computer, Windows knows about it but cannot finish the handshake to see the device and the 2 memory areas on the device.
Have to determine which programs that I have installed after the initialization that I want to restore.
The problem at the moment is that turning off the unit loses ALL Music Album Data but the songs are still there. This seems to have been caused by Lumia Black Update but not sure if that is true or not.
Have a lot of stuff to backup before resetting the device. Perhaps could upload everything to SkyDrive / OneDrive then restore the data after a full reset of the device.
I have all my cell phone contact data backed up but would like to backup all text messages too.
I have 2 custom applications that I have developed but are not yet setup using the Windows Phone 8 Development License as released products... that will be done soon.
Cannot backup the latest pictures on the phone... not many since the last backup but there are pictures that are not restorable that I would like to keep.
Would rather not have to do a complete reset but may have no choice.

Nokia Lumia 820 - Service Greece Taking too long

Hi there i recently bought a Nokia Lumia 820 from Germany and i went to Greece for my vacation. On my vacation Lumia was dead for some reson. After trying to charge it with the wall charger it wouldn't charge. So i went to a local Nokia Care point in Thessaloniki Evosmos. And they told me that they would check it out and they will inform me.
The employee of Nokia Care tried to charge the phone in front of my eyes. Still that doesn't seem to work.
So when was that my drama begine, the told me that they will know which in two working days. I told you know the problem. He tolded me about techinician checking the phone in Athens. And why should it go to Athens??? I ask myself there are 6 people inside the shop. They told me that the estimated service will be done under warranty into
TWO weeks!! OMG that is so much time. I told him that i have to go abroad in 2 weeks from now for year. He told me not to to worry this is the standar procedure. i told him ok. I give them the phone on 7 of October and when i call them today to see what is happening the told me that the mobile is in service and they dont know what is happening. I told them that i have to leave. And he told sorry i cannot do anything this will take more than 2 weeks.
What can i do know?
Is sevice taking that long only in Greece?
I told them if they can send it to Sweden where i will go and the told me that they can't...
What can i do??
I previously experienced some problems with my Asus Nexus 7 ... and the guys from DHL come the next day to pick it up and in 1 week i had it in my hands.

You need to discuss this with the individual care centre as unfortunately there is nothing that the users of this forum can do to help you with this.
Care centres are not owned or run by Nokia and not all types of repair can be carried out in them so often devices have to be sent to a higher level service centre. Naturally the speed of service varies between countries as often the higher level centres deal with more than just one brand of phone.
It's entirely at the shops discretion if they will send it on to you in another country or not so you need to speak to them.

Can't Stream on my Nokia Lumia 820

I cannot Stream live online with my Nokia lumia 820. I tried to download and Install adobe flash Player but the phone Is not supporting it. Can anybody tell me how to go about it. I need to Watch my prophet online

Flash player is not available for WindowsPhone or any mobile OS for that matter as Adobe has stopped supporting, having said that I have no issues playing videos online, when I hit the video icon and phone opens it in the in-built player and plays it fine. Try it.

Nokia Lumia 820 Amber Update

My 820 was updated but I had to do a factory reset how can I get the update back? The update does not appear in Phone Updates.

I found the answer myself, all we have to do here is download the App Lumia System Updater that fixed all my problems once I updated my Apps. Been looking for answer for Hours. Now things like Touch Double Tap Wake Up are working and Block Numbers and SMS on the Nokia Lumia 820 I would say it would work on all LUMIAs...

I would like to know if and how to define the storage location in my Nokia lumia 820.
I have recently purchased a micro SD card by Kingston and would like to download and install apps, like games who require more storage then my Nokia 820 supports(8GB).
I saw that the only available option set is to choose the the storage for music + videos and pictures from settings/phone storage but no option set could be found for the apps or others.
Please help me with some guidelines or with a proper workaround as I tried unsuccessfully to find the understanding for this in various resources.

You can't install applications, Games on the SD Card. Only other thing that you may save on the SD Card is the Maps ..but you need THIS application. Need to log-in using the same credentials that you use on this forum to download it ...

Problems with NOKIA STORE on N8

i have problems with nokia store on my nokia n8...some applicaton i can instal, but some of then i can't...i start to download and then when it is downloaded, start to instal and sad: "UNABLE TO COMPLETE INSTALLATION. DOWNLOAD FILE AGAIN." then again,again and again..i tried to hard reset, update software, everything..and there is still the problem...plz, help

I downloaded Fmobi last night after using a free copy for ages.
It wouldn't install due to me having the 'old' installer still there.
Kept giving me the same notification you stated.
I found it by using the 'App Manager', deleted and the install went in straight away.
