My projector is not being recognized as an additional device.  It is connected via a USB drive.  What can I do to get systems preferences to recognize this?

Help please....

The advise is that you install an appropriate USB driver for that projector in order for the projector to sense its signal.
Have you checked with the manufacturer if that projector is compatible with your Mac Book Pro?
Is it a newer Projector? All currently that I know connect via Thunderbolt.

My Iphone 4, to which all my outlook email is forwarded to. is only receivng some of the emails but not all. It has worked beautifully in the past but no longer. What can I do to get all emails?

I would just explain that this just started happening, that nothing has changed on the phone, that it is an original iPhone and I wondered if they are implementing a change in coverage with their Edge network in my area.
If you restore your phone, you will be given an option to back up your phone at the beginning of the process (see step 6 here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414).  You will be given the option to restore to that backup at the end of the restore process.  Your messages are stored in the backup so restoring to the backup will return the messages to your phone.  Be sure to import your photos and videos to your computer (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083) and back up your contacts somewhere before restoring your phone as these sometimesget lost in the restore process.

Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears on the screen.

  • Ipod Nano 7th Gen Not Being Recognized By Laptop Or Ipod When Plugged In Via Usb

The title explains it but when i plug my new ipod in (7th Gen Nano) to my laptop via usb it is not charging or showing up at all

I'm trying to put songs on it

  • My ipod nanos are not being recognized in iTunes. I have tried everything! Changed the drive letter, the disk to FAT32, resetted it, downloaded itunes again, but nothing has worked! HELP please.

Somehow my nano now lost all its music so now its empty!  Also, before windows used to recognize my ipod and i'd get a pop up saying "open to view files" but now I don't even get that anymore. I have also tried syncing it by putting them in disk mode but NOTHING has worked. I am getting so frustrated.
I followed all of the "steps" on the apple support page but none of that has worked too. PLEASE help me because I literally feel like just throwing my ipods out the window. I never had this problem before.

When you connect your iPod to your PC, what appears on the iPod's display?  Does the iPod charge when you have it plugged into the PC?
Are you running the latest version of iTunes (10.6.3)?  It wouldn't hurt to also make sure your Windows OS has all of the latest patches and updates as well.
I assume you have plugged the iPod ino different USB ports located directly on your PC and tried using another 30 pin dock connector cable to rule out the possibility of a bad cable?

  • My iPhone 5 is not being recognized as a managed device in itunes.

When I switched to the iPhone 5 I already had 5 managed deviecs listed in itunes.  I went to remove one of the devices but now I cant get my iPhone 5 to show as a managed device.  Because of this i show purchased songs on my iPhone but i cant play them.  How do I fix this?

If you are current.y running iTunes 11 - perhaps you can't see the device becuse the sidebar isn't visible. If that is the case, Go to the menu at the top of the screen - View>Show Sidebar. When the sidebar appears, you should see your iPad under the devices heading.
If it still isn't showing, quit iTunes, reboot your iPad and restart your computer and then try again.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If that fails to produce the desired results, try here ... Assuming that you are Windows....

  • IPod touch not being recognized by iTunes on my MacBook, and on 2 other PCs

    Hello,
After scouring the web and these discussion forums to no avail, I've decided to post my problem. I downloaded iTunes 8.0 yesterday, and updated the firmware on my iPod Touch to 1.1.5. I tried connecting my iPod, and nothing happened. It is not being recognized by my MacBook. So, I tried using another USB iPod connector, and nothing happened. I tried using a firewire connector, and nothing happened. Frustrated, I tried connecting to my one roommate's HP laptop and see if it would get recognized there - no. I then tried on my other roommate's laptop. The device was recognized to be USB, but iTunes wouldn't go ahead and try and reformat it. I'm starting to lose my mind! I've tried resetting the iPod touch itself loads of times to no success. I've tried restarting while having the iPod connected to the computer, and still nothing.
    What should I do now?

Sorry about not getting to you on the quick-fast, but we aren't Apple employees.
What ended up being the solution you needed, as you said, you couldn't find any information already posted on this problem, so documenting your fix may help someone in the future.

  • My battery is not being recognized, tried the updates..

So I've tried all of the software and battery updates, still getting the black x in the battery icon. I've also tried the battery from an identical (working) Macbook in my computer, still not being recognized. The battery itself is lighting up to full power, so what I'm wondering is...is it really my battery that needs to be replaced? Or could it be a different issue?
I bought my Macbook in 2008, so people are telling me the battery is old and needs to be replaced, but what worries me is a different battery already failed, so I don't want to waste my money if the battery isn't the problem.

Most common culprits include the cable. Try swapping it out for a different one.. or not having the most recent version of itunes. I once even solved this problem by shutting down the computer for 2 minutes. (the longer the better), with the ipad plugged in. starting it up... then itunes recognizes it, launches, and syncs.
Apple has a troubleshooting assistant on this topic:
    http://www.apple.com/support/ipad/assistant/itunes/
It will advise you to reboot. I recommend shutting down instead.

P.S The ipad should charge when asleep and plugged into your Mac. The charging behavior is normal. There isn't enough power out the USB ports to charge the ipad while it is on on some older Macs and nearly all PCs.

  • I have tried to update my itunes program. It was running great until I attempted the update now all I get is an error message that says "Itunes was not installed properly, Please reinstall itunes, Error 7 (Windows erroe 126)". What can I do to get my it

I tried updating my itune program. Now all I get is the following message "Itunes was not installed properly. Please reinstall itunes. Error 7 (Windows error 126). WHAT can I do to get back to where my itunes program is running again?
I have uninstalled the proram and tried reinstalling and get the same error message. The other error message I get is "The program can't start because MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem".  I have tried that twice with no luck. Can someone help me get my music back???

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

I think Apple is having a problem at the moment, my Ipod touch was always fine syncing until the new update! (Even on older itunes version, I could'nt sync since new update came out) It just isnt recognizing the device...
Ive done all that Apple says to do, none of which helps at all, I reckon its thier own side of the problem they need to fix...

  • TS3716 ipod nano is not being recognized by iTunes.

My ipod nano 2nd generation (and working perfectly) is not being recognized by iTunes.
    Any suggestions?

    Does the iPod work OK?
Have you tied resetting the iPod? Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
Next would be to place the iPod in recovery mode and then restore via iTunes.  If iTunes does not see the iPod then the iPod is not usable. For recovery mode:
iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to update or restore
