My projects just dissapeared

I was extracting my project to my USB because I need it for a school project. It told me to wait 30-45 minutesm, so I decided to go do something else to kill time. I come back and it doesn't say that it's done or anything. So I check my USB folder if it's there and it's not. I closed iMovie thinking that there was a problem and I just wanted to start over fresh. I come back on, and ALL my projects are GONE. What happened? How can I get them back? SOMEONE PLEASE HELP. I NEED THIS ANSWERED BEFORE MY PRESENTATION IS DUE!!

Could be two things:
- It is on a screen and you can't find it. Try using the Spotlight search feature and search for Safari.
- Somehow the restriction for Safari got turned on. If on Safari is hidden and will not appear on the iPod even via search. Go to Settings>General>Restrictions.
- Also try resetting your iPod?
Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

Feature of opening link in new tab when middle-click it has just dissapeared.

Hello! Feature of opening link in new tab when middle-click it has just dissapeared; now, when I middle-click the link, nothing happens - no new tab, simply nothing! It's not issue with a mouse, I've tried another mouse, and it's the same, and middle click works in other browsers; right click and "Open link in new tab" (as well as other options from context menu) work properly. Any idea what happened? Thanks!

Edit: Errrm, I didn't know exactly how this works, so I had the idea to click "Solved it" button next to both above posts, as I really was not sure which one solved my issue; now, as I clicked the button next to first answer, I see it appears as chosen answer, and no more button next to second answer; sorry, Cor-el; thanks to both for your willingness to help anyway!

I have a ton of apps i only have 11 pages of apps and when i download more apps it doesnt continue to the next page it just dissapears

11 pages is the limit. If you have enough space, you could put more in but you won't be able to see it. You have to use Spotlight to find it.
Use computer iTunes to see beyond the 11 page limit. Also in here (much easier) you can group some of your apps together in a folder. Using folders you can have over 2000 apps.

Adobe Premiere Pro CC does not open project - just hangs, no error message

I've just finished editing a project in PP CC, saved it, then tried to reopen it and the program shows a blank page, then hangs. I get no error message.
The project is based off a PP 5.5 timeline. It updates fine (and in fact I can open and convert the original timeline with no problem). However, once I close the new version and try to reopen, this symptom occurs.
I have updated my Creative Cloud software and it shows the Premiere Pro is up to date.
My computer is an ASUS laptop running Windows 8.1 Pro
i5 processor
8GB RAM
NVidea Geforce 610M+2GB graphics card
Need help as I have to have this project output and uploaded by 8am tomorrow.

This is a follow up to my original post and follow up. I've now seen this issue several more times and realize it was not an issue with my USB drive. It is an issue with the Dynamic Linking in Premiere. I consider this a MAJOR BUG, so please note what I've found if you have an issue with archiving or opening projects done with previous versions of PP.
The issue I've found is that Premiere seems to lock up trying to find dead media links. If you've archived a project or moved files from their original position, Premiere CC cannot seem to find them. The result is not a system hang up, but just a blank screen. In some cases, after leaving it for a couple hours it found the media and continued.
I've had a similar issue when trying to link 'dead' media with the actual files. The system goes off into neverland.
The work around I've found is to import the older jobs into a new Premiere CC project. At that point, replace any dead links (do NOT try and find the media as you'll be lost in hangupville) by importing the media again and replacing the clip in the sequence with the new import from the bin. Once all your media is 'live', remove any unused media from the project and confirm there are no 'dead' links (you can look at the media icon and notice a ? if they are not dynamically linked properly). Manually clear any remaining unlinked media. Save the project.
I have started to use Project Manager to archive all Premiere projects when moving them from one server to another.
This is a total pain in the @ss, and nothing I've seen before Creative Cloud. I hope that Adobe gets this resolved or I may consider dropping my subscriptions completely. That is a huge investment, but this type of issue is too much trouble to manage for a small production company.
I welcome any other thoughts, fixes, or comments.

1 project just wont open!!

i posted something earlier today about a message coming up saying core audio not available. i have since solved that problem. it turned out to be N.I's massive somehow craping out. it got to the point where after a few plays of a looped region, massive would end up crashing logic. i isolated it down to massive and have now uninstalled massive and re installed.
the problem now is that the project i was having the problem with will not open at all. all other projects open fine.
i have reinstalled massive... nothing
removed p lists and repaired disk permissions...nothing
i have tried to open from recent items. from open and from the project folder on my external drive.
if i right click on the logic icon in the dock it says project not responding.
any ideas would be much appreciated

a couple of things.
Did you look in the Audio Units Manager. Is Massive "successfully validated" I have 1.1.4 as the latest?
Did you create a new project with just Massive and recorded something with it, then save the project and close Logic 9, then open the project? This is to test Massive within Logic 9. If this works, it could be something else in that project.
Did you test Massive standalone. Just making sure it works with your current OS/patches.
This is also to test in case your authorization got screwed up.
I'm planning a massive (no pun intended) test from my iMac (Logic 8.0.2) to my Macbook Pro (Logic 9) all this week. I haven't gotten to Massive yet, I can try that first.

Two Projects Just Disappeared over the Holiday

When I leaft my computer befor the July 4th holiday I had two projects I was working on, now I don't have any!
Working on FCP X 10.0.5
Project & Corisponding Event were located on external drive. I'm using Event Manager X, and it's not seeing them either. The Project folder is empty as well. I'm a proficent editor, and worked many jobs through this program - so this is really crazy - because there is no trace of them - just toally gone?
Any Idea? I've already trashed prefs, did do anything.

The aperture library which comes up when depressing the option key is the same blank library. It says created on 12/19 (which is when I created the original file) but it is blank (and I did not delete the library files)
Yes the HD was formatted for OSX, and yes I sent masters only ( no referenced files) from library A to the desktop, and then went from desktop to library B.
looks like I will have to start the transfer process all over again. not looking forward to it. At least, I still have all the original files.

You need to check iCloud to see if they are actually there. Go to iCloud.com and sign in and then look at your Contacts there to see if the old ones are still showing on iCloud.
If they are not, then you can either re-enter them while you are on iCloud.com, or you can restore your device from the backup where you saved them:

FCP Crashes when I try to open a project - just one project.

I even tried going to the Autosave Vault to open the latest saved file.
"Finder>Documents>Final Cut Pro Documents>Autosave Vault>Look for the folder with the project's name you are trying to open." Someone else had a similar issue and had success with that, but not me.
When I open the file it launches the latest FCP, but when it gets to 19% loaded FCP crashes and wants to report the error to Apple.
This file represents about one weeks worth of work, and FCP suddenly won't open this project anymore for some reason.
I made consistent backups, and even the backups won't work now.
How do people editing with FCP for a living survive if FCP does this??? This is unbelievable. If anyone can offer any ideas I would appreciate it.

i was on my computer just now, when the line on my screen where i can write in where i want to go on the internet disappeared.
how can i get it back?

* Make sure that the "Navigation Toolbar" and the "Bookmarks Toolbar" are visible: "View > Toolbars"
* If items are missing then go to "View > Toolbars > Customize" and see if you can find the missing item(s) in the toolbar palette
* If a missing item is in the toolbar palette then drag it back from the Customize window onto the toolbar
* If you do not see that item then click the "Restore Default Set" button to restore the default toolbar set up

IMovie 11 project just disappeared!

I left my iMac for 20 minutes and when I returned the iMovie 11 project I had spent a whole week working on had disappeared. Nobody had touched the computer and it had not frozen/crashed. I can find no trace of the file using Spotlight to search the entire hard drive, the attached external hard drive and the trash. Where has the file gone? Where does iMovie 11 put movie projects that are moved to the trash because on my computer they are not to be found in the Trash which is what i would expect.

Word and other apps just dissapeared

First all of my apple applications dissapeared ie iphoto imovie etc, and now all of my microsoft progams dont work.
What can I do to get it all back?

Please be more descriptive about your problem. Are you saying the apple applications are no longer in your Applications folder? Microsoft issues should be dealt with at the Microsoft web site support. Be a bit more lucid about your MBP and what OS it is running. What have you tried? What maintenance do you do on a regular basis?

My iMovie's project just get lost... Help?

My Macbook Air crashed while I've been finishing my movie that I spend at least 4 hours and when I restarted the project disappear. What the f** has done this expensive iGarbage? Thank you...

iMovie does not autosave. So if you are working on a project, then need to get into the habit of saving regularly. Regrettably, it looks like you have lost 4 hours work - sorry! At least you still have the source material so all is not lost.
I'd love to be able to say that Macs don't crash, but they do. Hence the need for regular saves and backups (preferably double backups).
I was using a new USB3 flash drive the other day on which I had put hundreds of documents. In the middle of working, I got a warning that the USB had been disconnected without unmounting. It had not even been knocked and was still firmly in place but it could not be read on 3 different Macs and 2 Windows PC's - Data Recovery software (cost me $90) got my files back but I lost all the names and file structure and have spent the last 3 days rebuilding it. I now have it backed up x2 so this painful and expensive scenario is not repeated.

Premiere creates garbage zero-byte file while saving, project file dissapears/corrupts

Hi guys,
I've been experiencing a strange intermittent technical problem with Premiere project saves (and sometimes After Effects project files).
Case:
- Editor opens a project.
- After a moment, as editor hits 'save'.
- A strangely named file appears in the save location with no extension (a long string of characters separated by hyphons).
- Sometimes, this garbage file disappears and project is saved. Other times, this file remains and original project file disappears and the editor doesn't even know!
- If editor hits save again, a message box appears saying the file has been modified since last save - hit cancel or OK.
This issue has meant that we've lost project files, and have had to recover them from auto-save and/or Creative Cloud sync folder.
Sometimes it saves ok!
This is what the strange file looks like.
I don't know if this issue is related to Adobe software, Mac os or Linux but we've only run into it while using Adobe software.
Sometimes, After Effects throws an error related to this as well, forcing you to either 'save as', or incremental save.
It's a networked editing environment - all clients are Mavericks macs, working from a Ubuntu Linux server via SMB via gigabit ethernet. All clients are authenticated to the server as the same Admin user. Directory and Create masks are 0755 in SMB settings. SMB.conf also has some tuning parameters: socket options = TCP_NODELAY IPTOS_LOWDELAY SO_RCVBUF=65536 SO_SNDBUF=65536
Op-locks are disabled at server-side (I thought it could be to do with oplocks).
Does anyone have any ideas?
Or perhaps someone could explain to me the behind-the-scenes process that happens when Premiere executes a save?

Glad to hear it's not me going crazy, but unglad that you're experiencing it!
Recently we replaced SMB with NFS as the protocol for sharing our main raid volume and cache, and since then this issue no longer happens.
This definitely points to the way Adobe apps with with SMB. I have a feeling it's something to do with oplocks or something behind the scenes that denies PP access to the project file for overwriting it.
TBH, as a bonus NFS feels like a rocketship to planet editor-bliss. It's a proper beast. Unfortunately I'm not sure how good the Windows implementation is (I know certainly that only windows 7/8 enterprise clients are able to access NFS shares, which is a bummer for most).
