My Projects were "retired" but I didn't do it. How do I get them back?

Yesterday I went to MY LULU expecting to see all of my projects and continue work on some that needed updating. To my shock, two thirds of my entire list was gone (about 20 titles). I discovered they were now in the "retired" category and permanently unavailable. However, I didn't retire them and I need those projects for my work. I am not sure if this was some computer glitch triggered on my computer (it does have its moments) or something done elsewhere, but I need these projects back. I was never informed of this massive "retirement" of so much of myu work, they've just dissappeared from the system. How can so many of my projects vaporize without warning or notice or even a friendly reminder that my years of work have been wiped out? Is there no safeguard to ensure this doesn't happen accidentally to an author without their knowledge or consent? Has anyone else experienced this recently or am I the only one?

Lulu updated our content retention policy in November 2012 and automated it's enforcement in January 2013.
The content retention policy states that Private content will be permanently retired 6 months after publication or the last purchase date, whichever is longer. At this time, we are enforcing a 12 month period since the last purchase before content is actually retired.
Content retired under the content retention policy cannot be unretired. If you wish to continue working on the project, please update the manuscripts you previously saved on your computer. You can quickly recreate and publish the new revisions.

Yeah I tried that but it won't load because windows hard drive setup is different than the macs. I need to figure out what I need to change from the disc utility to allow osx to install on the hard drive.

If you made a backup using icloud, then restore your 5 to that backup. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4859

Which photos? If the missing photos were synced to the iPod then you have to get them from where you got them the first time. Synced photos are not in the backup that iTunes makes.

Log into icloud.com and then click on the Contacts icon. If the list is empty, then it's gone.

Your problem is that she used your icloud ID to connect to icloud and thus had all your data synced to her device. Contacts are not saved in a backup to icloud, since they are stored independently in the Contacts section of icloud. If someone deletes them, they are gone. If you had them on the PC would they be available in some backup you frequently make of the PC?

If you can see the iCloud contacts in Outlook, you can copy them back to your PC by selecting all the contacts (click one, then press Control-A), then drag and drop the selected contacts to Contacts under My Contacts on the left sidebar of Outlook.
If you want to copy your calendar back to Outlook, select your iCloud calendar on the left sidebar of Outlook, switch to the list view (select View from the ribbon, then click Change View>List), select your events (click on a single event, then press Control-A), then control drag and drop them to Calendar under My Calendars on the left sidebar.
Then you can sign out of iCloud on the iCloud control panel and your local copies will still be there. If you want to add your iCloud email account back to iCloud, you can do this with these settings: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4864.

You can sync photos from your computer to your iPod via iTunes. You select in the Photos pane for the iPod in iTunes what folder of photos to sync to the iPod.

You can move apps around in iOS 7 the same as iOS 6. Press an app icon until you see it wiggle; then drag it to where ever you want it to be. Drag it onto another app to create a folder with the two apps. Tap the Home button to stop the wiggle.

I recently had to reinstall the factory settings on my laptop and lost all songs in itunes but they'e on my phone. how do i get them back on my phone its so frustrating.

I am assuming you never backed up your computer.
Sounds like you still may have problems with your PC.

HT3819 I have bought a new computer because my old one is out dated. I have upgraded everything, but my ringtones did not download how do I get them back?

I just bought a new laptop, beacuse my old on was out dated. On the old one my ringtones are on the itunes, however when I upgraded they did not download to the new computer in itunes, how can i get them back. The old computer will not support the upgraded version IOS-5? Thanks for your help. Mitzi

As far as I know ringtones can only be downloaded once. If they are still on your old computer then you should be able to copy them over via, for example, a flash drive, and then add them to the new computer's iTunes via File > Add File To Library (or Add Folder To Library) - they should then appear in the Tones part of your iTunes library.
You should be able to locate where the ringtones are stored on your old computer by right-clicking on them in iTunes and selecting 'Show In Windows Explorer'
