My pse10 is unstable on my windows 7 64 bit

When I try to drop down the font drop down box, the screen just flickers.  The same happens when I try to drop down the file type when trying to save a file.
Will pse10 not run well on Windows 7 64 bit.  It ran well on my old XP 32 bit machine.
Never mind.  I discovered a fix.  I just installed PSE10 in XP mode and it runs fine there.

Blackbird65 under Windows 7 you will want to open Photoshop CC 64-bit from the Applications option in your Start Menu.  You can find more details at Launch CC apps after install - https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/launch-creative-cloud-apps.html.

  • Which windows bit to use with parallels

I'm a Newby, and I"m looking to use Parallels with my new Mac Pro 13" duo processor I7.  So, I need to get Parallels and was looking at a Windows 7 OEM disk.  Never have thought much about 32 or 64 bit, what's the difference and is one better then the other for everyday computing?

Hi  for what it is worth ...
I am using a MacBook Pro with 8G ram, and due to some of the applications I have to run for work, I run Parallels and Windows 7 64 bit
I find the Windows platform VERY stable.  I went for Parallels, as I want to run Windows inside my Mac environment, and bit not want to dual boot i.e. have to shut down programs to switch from one to the other.
All the updates work very well, all the applications I run in the Windows environment are stable, and cause me no problems at all.
Everything on the MAC runs well, with no effect on the processes.  When I plug anything into the USB ports, I am then given the option if I want teh device to run in the Mac environment or the Windows,
    Hope that helps

  • Is it better to install Windows 8 via Boot Camp than risk installing an unstable version of Windows 8.1, which isn't yet supported?

Apologies for asking this question as I note a number of similar questions have been asked. However, having read many answers on here and trawled the net I'm still not sure what the right answer is...
The Boot Camp 5 FAQs state that Windows 8.1 is not yet supported: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5639
Despite this, I have noticed that some users have installed 8.1 with varying success and in some cases have needed to use workarounds.
I've not partitioned a drive before and want to take the most straightforward route to installing Windows on my Mac.
This leads me to believe that I should buy Windows 8 now, wait for Boot Camp to be updated in the near future and then update to 8.1 (or later).
    Is this correct?

    Thanks Bob,
Would you install the OEM system builder version or the full retail version of Windows 8?
My understanding is that the OEM version is cheaper and can still be registered for personal use, but doesn't come with the full documentation or helpdesk support from Windows which concerns me a ittle.

  • Installing PSE10 Shared technology issue on windows 8.1

This is about the millionth time I have typed this due to the rubbish nature of this forum...ie when you type ask a question in the box it then directs you to this page so you have to type all over again!
    I am currently mega frustrated
I have PSE 10 and put it on my new pc running windows 8.1. It all seemed to be working but today when i tried to open the photo editor it would not open. So I did as requested and uninstalled then tried to reinstall but now I have the shared technology issue mentioned in many places on the forum.
I have tried all the fixes mentioned. i have even tried restoring the computer to a previous version but all to no avail. I am wasting my few precious editing hours trying to get the app working and I am really fed up. Can anyone please tell me whether PSE 10 works properly on window 8.1. If not I will be buying a different package

Open Regedit and go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager
Delete this key under Session Manager "PendingFileRenameOperations". Restart the installation and it will work fine.

  • Highly Unstable behaviour of Windows 8.1

I have installed windows 8.1 Pro
Whenever my laptop is on charging and idle for 5 minutes it starts intensive disk activity and its temperature get very high.
After then it gets turn off .
Last day it was giving Blue screen with error message as Kernal_internal crash message.
It is really hurting my daily jobs

A bugcheck (BSOD) is a mechanism to protect your PC from damage.
To see the cause I have to take a look at the dumps with the Debugging Tools for Windows.
Please start the Windows Explorer and go to the folder C:\Windows\Minidump. Next, copy the dmp files to your desktop, zip all dmp into 1 zip file and upload the zip file to your public Skydrive [1] folder and post a link here.
If you can't see dmp files, make sure your Windows is configured correctly [2][3] to generate dumps.
If you want to analyze them your own, check those videos [4][5] and read this KB article [6].
The activity may come from the Idle maintenance. Try to disable the task inthe task scheduler.

  • Unstable Sockets on Windows?

Hello! I have a client/server application written in Java with a decent (~10,000) number of customers. Some of my customers are reporting that their connection is cut off periodically. I put this down as either aberrant firewalls or very bad network problems, until one of my customers did a test: he ran two applications side by side, one a C application that connected to my server, the other my Java application. Both were moving a steady stream of data, both were connected to the same port on my server. He found that the C program would run all day and all night, but the Java application would exit with a "connection closed by peer" error frequently. He further noticed that if we was pinging my server at the time, the pings would occasionally report bursts of timeouts; when this happened, the java connection would die, but the C connection would live through it and keep on going.
So my question to the group: Is this a known issue? Does java use unusual socket configurations under Windows, that makes it more susceptible to brief network interruptions? Is there a way to reconfigure this? I looked at the java.io.Socket() class, couldn't see setting that seemed related to this.
Thanks to anybody who can help me out...I tried searching the java bug database, but all the searches I tried returned thousands of replies, and I couldn't find any that seemed to match this problem.

try changing the setKeepAlive on your client socket and also consider the timeout on your client socket as well.

  • Problem/issue of nVidia GTX660M on GE60 0ND-298 with Windows 8.1

    Hi folks,
I am newbie here, so please forgive me,
if my post is too long and ugly.
I have "almost" the same problem as the user called "Ghost", but in my case there
are few differences. I am too user of MSI GE60-0ND notebook, but the version is 298CZ (MSI GE60 0ND-298CZ).
    some short info about me:
I am sort of experienced in PC maintenance, driver repairs, and software installing and setting up.
I had successfully and correctly helped at least  ca. 35+ people (including few relatives and friends)
with some problems regarding their desktop PCs or notebooks,
mainly they needed from me to solve some specific problem - some reinstall or
correct install/set up of the OS and drivers and etc. or other software programs they need to use in everyday life.
I had correctly updated/reflashed BIOS or firmware on more than 25 PCs (on ca. 4-5 PCs in last 4 months).
but I am not very skilled in PC HW reparation and assembly.
The problem I had is possibly simple (or not), but until now I couldn't find the working solution written
on the MSi Forum/thread or anywhere on the internet.
I have everything up to date, including Windows OS (8.1), drivers, BIOS and EC/FW from MSI
(as you can see from specs taken from Speccy 1.25, DxDiag, nVidia control panel and other software).
Well (or not?), the problem is that high demanding apps, like modern games or some CAD software/benchmarks i had recently
tested shown that my notebook is only using
the Intel HD4000 Graphics (in all situations even when it shouldn't) and not the dedicated high-performance
    nVidia GTX660M graphic.
I even used the nVidia Inspector 1.7.2 from the thread of Ghost's problem with the same nb/graphic card.
I played HL2 Ep Two and One, Garrys Mod 14.022 (latest), IL-2 Sturmovik: 1946 with Ultrapack 2.1 + SAS1946 updates
(with tweaked settings to use high-quality perfection/perfect settings)
to test and look if the dedicated graphics card is working or not. In all cases it shown that the nVidia GTX 660M
didn't even heat up some grade or load up the textures, and it appeared as non active against the HD4000 that run like wild.
In some of the above mentioned games it wasn't sufficient and the games crashed and/or closed suddenly-
that happened in Garrys Mod 14,
something same happened in that modded IL-2 Sturmovik: 1946 - but with it it crashed by saying that
    "il2fb.exe has stopped working".
To tell you more, before when i had plain windows 8, it didn't happened even once
(for the IL-2 Sturmovik was and is still set in the compatibility mode for Win XP SP3 - so everything should work),
in the case of HL2 Ep. Two it happened almost same as in Garrys mod 14.x . The game simply shut down and quit,
    and closed without saying anything.
By playing those games, i saw in the taskbar only the icon of Intel HD graphics 4000 looking as active.
The icon of nVidia in the taskbar panel stayed there or sometimes it completely disappeared,
and that indicates that pc was using only the Intel HD4000.
I tried to check for all updates, uninstall and reinstall Intel VGA HD4000 driver with latest official from Intel support,
and also after it by uninstall and reinstall of nVidia GTX660M driver with latest stable driver from nVidia page
with hope that the new drivers would do the thing and repair the errors/issues.
Until now I tried to solve my problem by myself,
but as nothing helped to solve the issue with dedicated nVidia card i had to visit this forum.
The current state of my pc to sum the facts together - to see what could be wrong there:
    PC/Name-type: MSI GE60 0ND-298CZ (late summer 2013)
    OS: Windows 8.1 (64-bit)
Tech specs: CPU - Intel Quad Core i7-3630QM Ivy Bridge 22nm,
    RAM- 8GB DDR3/1600 MHz, HDD- 750GB (7200 rpm),
    1. VGA (on chip)- Intel HD4000, 2. VGA- GTX 660M (2GB DDR5)
    Motherboard: MS-16GA (HM76, rev. 1.0)
    MB-BIOS version: E16GAIMS.514 (12/3/2013, installed 29.11.2013)
EC Firmware version: 16GAEMS1.506 (installed 30.11.2013)
Intel HD Graphics 4000 driver: v10.18.10.3412
    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660M driver: 334.89 (9.18.13.3489)
    nVidia VGA BIOS Version:   80.07.27.00.05
    Other drivers version
(which may cause the in-activity/problems of GTX 660M card)
    - Intel Control Center v1.2.1.1008 **
    - Intel Management Engine Components (ME) v8.1.0.1281 **
    - Intel Management Engine Interface (MEI) v9.0.0.1287 **
    - Intel SDK for OpenCL-CPU Only Runtime Package v2.0.0.37149
    - NVIDIA PhysX System Software v9.13.1220
(** I have found some info that outdated (buggy) Intel ME and MEI drivers, could be the cause why the PC
uses only on board HD Graphics 4000 and can't switch to dedicated GTX 660 M when some app needs it,
could this be the thing or not?
I am really not sure, if it is cause why my PC is sticking on use of only HD4000 VGA.
Should i update the ME or MEI driver to latest stable as mentioned*** or not?
(*** on win-raid com in thread about latest Intel Management Engine Drivers-Firmware and Tools)
I am aware that a careless update of Intel ME or MEI can brick your PC or installed OS and make it unstable,
that is why i don't want to do that thing,
i want do some other way how to solve the correct vga switching issue.
Could you please help me, to detect where is the cause of the problem
and then to help me to solve it somehow ??
Please tell me also, if you need some other info
(i can send the DxDiag report if needed or something similar).
I know that my problem looks same way as had the user called "Ghost",
but in my case the details are a bit different and specific.
I will wait patiently for your advices.
    Thanks in advance.

Thank you, for that little advice.
Sorry i didnt answered sooner, was kinda busy last weeks.
I will specify the problem more - explain my investigation about the issue.
But I have GE60 0ND, and i somewhere read (on this forum but in other thread/topic)
that on GE 60 0ND the power button doesnt change its color from blue, either it actually uses Intel HD4000 or nVidia GPU GTX660 M.
If i am not wrong in that, i hope so / i can say that on my lap the power button never changed its color to some other.
It was and still is blue.
What i found from Speccy or from Nvidiainspector soft v1.9.7.2 was that my nVidia is generally
never used - even in games which were more demanding and were set in nVidia control panel to use nVidia GPU only
    and NOT the HD4000.
But i think there is also there some other, far deeper and worser problem.
In last few days I was checking the possible issues with current Intel chipset driver (Intel INF driver - currently v9.3.1025) and also with Intel Mangement Engine drivers (currently ME Components driver 8.1.1281 and ME Interface driver 9.0.1287).
To tell you more, the problem with GPU drivers started shortly after i updated the Win8 to 8.1, but other confusing symptom is that shortly after the pc boots up in to OS environment,
the screen flicker one time and then the nVidia's control panel icon in taskbar will dissapear.
That happens around one to five times in halfhour or hour, after the laptop was turned on. I am very confused, from it, because it looks like the pc is unstable or the Windows Explorer is crashing. After the holfhour it stops doing it, but some time ago i tried to fix it by comletely uninstalling and then reinstalling both of VGAs (HD4000 and nVidia GTX660M) with latest stable and official drivers - but it didnt solved the issue.
Also the icons on the desktop and in taskbar dissapear for a second and then reappear.
I tried to figure it out many times, but found that it wasnt Windows Explorer error. What is this problem?
Is it in INF chispet driver and ME/MEI driver or it is caused by some other corrupted driver?
I even wrote some notes about what I found out.
So there are my findings. The ME and MEI driver are responsible
for deciding the use of and handling interaction between the system's low- and high- performance/importance and on motherboard installed components.
If they are wrong or incompatible it causes some errors or that some of the used component will be not used because of the error.
Also same role, but sorta a bit different has the INF chipset driver, which is sorta above the ME and MEI driver and governs over them and over use of the other
CPU and MB components and periipheral devices, like USB2-3 controllers, Cardreader, charging function etc.
So my question is, i have found on  Intel support Chipset INF driver for 7 series - the v9.4.1027 (November 2013), about which i read
that is also suitable for 7 series express chipsets like HM76/77 (my is 76)- should i try to install these drivers ?
Same, i had a hard work to find more current ME and MEI driver for notebook with Intel's 7 series express chipset
which should solve my problem. I found on Lenovo support webpage ME driver v9.0.1310 (components driver) and MEI driver v9.0.1287(interface),
they are both in one installer.
I read about that installer in description and found out that,
that drivers are useful on any lap with the 7 series chipset.
Just the Lenovo added note that those drivers and higher are usable on some other newly adde types of notebooks.
The provider of the driver was Intel.
I carefully read also some other info, and just few days ago i read also
if someone want/really neeeds to update
Intel INF chipset driver and after it the ME/MEI driver - one should unistall all drivers that are managed by that INF and ME/MEI drivers.
That means both VGA drivers (CPU GPU and dedicated GPU), Cardreader driver, LAN and WLAN drivers,
audio driver, all intel drivers - like Rapid storage, SCM driver and so, and manually uninstall the ME Interface driver through Device Manager too.
My other question is, could someone of you help with this by telling me some other information/advice i possibly completely overlooked.
Currently, my PC is working poorly - not slow, but the blicking of the icons on desktop and taskbar shortly after the system's start up
is totally horrible and the nVidia GPU GTX660M is unable to work (by crashing the Nvidia control panel).
I feel now really lost on this GE60 laptop altough i have good experience how to set PC or notebook.
I never faced this kind of problem - i would be happy if i knew the way how to fix it for once/definitely and use the fullpotential of that notebook.
Every advice or your experience will be very welcomed.
    Thanks

  • Cannot install Windows

    So i have a Mid 2010 iMac 27" - 2.93 Ghz. i7, 16 GB, with a 2 TB Drive, and 10.7.3 running on it.
About a month ago, my Superdirve broke, and i cant install anything.
As i need my Computer due to work, i bouth an Asus BD + DVD + CD - Combo-Drive-thingy,
    which works perfectly fine,
    BUT
now i wanted to install Win8 Consumer Preview over my Win7.
Firstly i couldnt, because you cant do that with the Installer on 32 bit, to install 64 bit
Then i tried it via Bootcamp, so i had to delete the old drive.
Then i wanted to make a new one via the Bootcamp Assistent, downloaded the Drivers, burnt them, and put the
Win8 DVD in the Asus Drive. Then it told me to put the Windows DVD in, because he didnt recognise it from the Asus Drive.
But i cant, because the Superdrive is broken.
So i rebooted, and i got into the Windows Install Thingy, but aswell this didnt recognise the DVD because the Drive is only connected via
    2 USB Ports.
So next, i made a Win8 Install USB-Flashdrive, and this should work perfectly fine normally, but just aswell, it didnt recognise it.
So then i installed rEFIt, and tried to get to the installer with that, somehow.
    no chance.
Right now im a little bit ******, and disappointed, as i NEED Windows for work, and and I cant reach The AppleCare Support, because
get home everyday at 20:00, and they only answer till 19:45.

You need Windows for work, yet you are choosing to run the unstable  version of Windows 8 Preview?
I think I would stick with your Windows 7. Might save yourself even more headaches.
If you truly need W8 as part of your work environment.  I would install Parallels Desktop. This way you can keep XP, Windows 7 and have your Window8 Preview. Nothing is lost and you can easily switch between them.
Parallels will mount the .iso and install.

  • SoundBlaster Audigy 2 ZS Notebook problems with Windows 7 & Vista

Whenever I install the drivers on Windows 7 (previously Windows Vista till 7-8. September 2009) crashes the system with a blue screen, but it has installed correctly though.
Also, when I put the sound card when my computer is on, (The sound card was not inserted before booting time) it becomes?unreliable, and unstable, and prevents windows to shut down or restart: shutting down for infinite, or too much (more than one day) time. I'm not sure, that this problem has nothing to do with the previous crash.
On Vista, the driver "blocks" the functionality of the network drivers, and modem driver. (Not if I use the last one too often.)
Now I'm trying to install the driver again, but this time, I first put the sound card in, then start the computer. (the quick start guide tells me to do it in the other way around.)
    Also I tried the following:
Install driver from Windows Update, (Immediately?done a system restore.)
Install driver from creative website. (Done a system restore after a few days.)

  • ISO for re-installing Windows 7 Home Premium Russian x64 with key on HP laptop (x32 installed now)

I have HP notebook with Windows 7 Home Premium x32 installed. I have added memory to laptop, but OS does not see it because 32-bit limitations. Laptop has label with key. I have no any CD/DVD included with OS. Where I can find Windows 7 Home Premium Russian
x64 ISO to reinstall with key from laptop label?

I just had talk with HP Support (I have Care Pack). You are not absolutely right.... Key from label (OEM on my laptop) is not binds to Windows bit architecture. HP has placed order today for media kit with x64 version of Windows 7 Home Premium included
    for me. It is free)).

  • Windows 7 startup time taking an eternity on MacPro 2010

    Hi All,
I have a MacPro 2010 with the following config:
    - 2 x 6 core 2.97Ghz processors
    - 6GB RAM going to 24 GB RAM as soon as I get a chance to install it
    - 1 SSD for OSX boot, 1 1TB for Windows 7 only, 2 x 2TB for striped raid (OSX use)
    - ATI 5870 (centre screen) and a GT120 (left and right screens)
I went through the motions of starting bootcamp assistant, selecting the drive and then inserting the windows media and then waited for the windows install gui to start. This took a long time 1hr+. I just went and did something else so I didnt think about it much. Once Windows installed and the machine rebooted it took a while for the little windows logo animation above "starting windows" to come up eg 5 minutes. Again did something else and didnt think much of it. Now once windows was started (surprised to see all three monitors come up with 2 different video cards...ATI and NVIDIA, bonus!) it worked ok and sooner or later got a blue screen of death. The machine reboots and I get to bootup options ie the your machine crashed do you want safe mode, etc, or in 30 seconds the default will be started...blah blah.....now the machine has my full attention and I am looking at how long things take to start. The 30 second countdown on the boot options screen took about 16 minutes to get to zero ie every second took ~30 seconds to decrease on the display. So once windows (I assume around the point where the windows logo does its thing over the "starting windows" bit) takes over in its boot sequence things are quicker but during initial boot there is a massive lag somewhere. Is this normal for 2010 macpro and Win7?
Once in Win7 the Win Exp Index = 7.8 for everything bar disk which is 5.9 and thats with a raw install etc etc. So ok.
    Thanks
    Jim

    Stefan,
So to set the scene, my MacPro is situated about 4-5 meters from my sitting position. Therefore I have 7mtr monitor cables and some USB devices in front of me..... anyway you get the picture Im sure.
What was causing it were two generic USB extender cables (they have a box with circuitry on the end that boosts the signal for longer USB runs). They were giving me problems with the devices I tried to use (unreliable) so I simply stopped using them with USB devices a while back but never unplugged them from the Mac. I did however add another brand extender cable and used it without issue for many years. When I put the new mac in I simply reconnected everything not giving it any thought.
So anyway, I have removed the two culprits from the mac left the better extender cable (plus other USB devices) there and its all fixed. For the record I did add them back on just to be sure and it is definitely them.
I must admit I still cant figure out why one of those cables would slow a boot option page counter by 30 times, a power drain issue maybe?????

  • Windows Server 2012 R2 - Windows Network Load Balancing Converging Issue

    Hello,
My name is Brandon. We have started upgrading our servers to Windows Server 2012 R2. We have some powerful servers for running ESXI 5.5 as the OS with the Guest Operating Systems as Windows Server 2012 R2. As far of our migrations/upgrades we have configured
ADFS 2012 R2 into a Server Farm with Windows Network Load Balancing to add redundancy in the event a server goes down.
I have been having issues with a Node with the Cluster getting stuck in the Status of Converging. The only way I have been able to get it back up is to restart the virtual server completely and it is temporary. When I first configure the Cluster the two
virtual servers get added to the Node with no problems and fully converge. However, after some time a node will end up in Converging and this takes Authentication for ADFS down as the nodes can not be contacted over Port 443.

I have tried using 1 & 2 Virtual NICs on the machines and still receive this error even if only 1 VNIC is assigned to the virtual machine. Could someone assist me with why I am having this issue? Has anyone had experience with a similar configuration

Thank you for your response. It took me a while to figure it out, but the whole issue was related to the type of Virtual Network Adapter I was selecting.
I changed the network adapter from E1000 to VMXNET 3 and have not had a single error in the event logs or Windows NLB.
I read somewhere that VMXNET 3 is preferred for Windows Server 2012 R2.
