My purchased I-tunes songs will not import to I-Movie or I-DVD

Just recently every time I export a purchased I-Tunes song to I-Movie or I-DVD, I get a pop-up saying that the song is not authorized to be played on my computer. Even though the all the purchased songs play fine while in I-Tunes itself they will not export to I-Movie or I-DVD. Each time the pop-up comes up to authorize the song, I go through and authorize it, and it tells me it was successful. It lied. The songs still do not export even though I authorized the computer. I have noticed to a tiny little lock in the upper left hand corner of the icon for the songs, but only for the purchased songs. I think that may be part of the problem. I'm not alone with this problem. I have spoken with other frustrated people with the identical problem. The purchased songs exported just fine until recently. I was told by a computer nerd that the problem lies with quicktime which doesn't allow I-tunes to export to I-Tunes or I-DVD. Apple Support was not helpful. Does anyone know how to fix this problem. Thanks

It is a known problem as mentioned in the iMovie or iDVD forums. See thread below look at the 2nd post for the workaround.

I have thousands of songs dowloaded from my cds and purchased from itunes that will not play.  It says file cannot be found.  What happened and where are they?

When songs cannot be found, it's either because they have been moved from the original location that you told iTunes, renamed or deleted.
    So have you:
    renamed songs?
moved them to a different loaction on your computer since you imported them into itunes?
deleted them since you imported them?
stored you iTunes library on an external drive? If so, that drive needs to be on and ready every time before you start iTunes.
... or is another programme renaming or even moving them, such as Windows Media Player? (It has been known to if you let it.) Did you previously use Windows Media Player?

  • I am unable to burn CDs with songs recently purchased from itunes. No problem before. When I try to burn a playlist with new songs, I get the error message that "songs will not it on 1 audio CD". If I remove all songs except the new one, it will burn.

I am unable to burn CD's with the last 4 songs I've purchased from the iTunes store. I can burn CD's from playlist using previously purchased songs with no problem. With a normal length playlist including 1 of the newly purchased songs, I get the message "songs will not fit on one CD". I can remove all but the new song and 1 other and the CD will burn. I have upgraded to the latest version of iTunes and still have the problem.

I have that EXACT same problem! I have no idea what to do though, but it is very mucho frustrating. Let me know if you find out anything, and I will do the same.

I've purchased a few dozen songs from itunes on my iphone. A few of these songs will not download properly and I keep getting a "unable to download song" message. My account info is correct and full signal. It seems to continually keep trying to download but cannot. Please help!

i do understand that.  if you purchased the music on the phone.  its still available to you.  if you go in itunes on your computer.  go to purchases.  there should be all the music you have purchased.  there you can download the song if it isn't already and then sync it to your phone which will add the song to the phone.  have you tried to power off phone and then try to download again.   the itunes way is just another option.

The path C:\users\owner\appdata\local\apple\apple software update\bonjour64.msi cannot be found. verify that you have access to this location and try again or try to find the installation package "bonjour64.msi" in a folder from which you can install the product bonjour.
Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on 25 June 2010. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (The results from mydigitallife and Major Geeks are worth checking.)
After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Bonjour entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp. Restart the PC, and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

Thanks for this post. It corrected my similar issue. Note that you need to exit from/re-enter iTunes after deleting the song from your Purchased list.

    Hi there.
Thank you very much for your quick reply, it's really appreciated.
No need to apologize, I actually found the phrase "If your iPad ever craps the bed" amusing under the circumstances
I checked the list of installed apps like you suggested (Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Show all apps) but this problem app is not in the list. I have also swiped down on the home screen to search for it, but again it does not show.
While it has not let me download the app (and I just tried it again) it has helped me to eliminate a few things from the list of what to try, and I can definitely conclude that it has not downloaded.
I guess I need to fire up my PC and download it / sync my iPad.
    Thanks again for your help

  • Some iTunes purchased songs will not play on iPhone.

Some of my songs that I have purchased from iTunes will not play on my iPhone but will play on my MacBook Pro and iPad - what can I do to fix this.  This problem has been happening for around a week now.  At first it was 1-2 songs but now in a playlist of around 80 songs approximately 1/4 of the songs will not play.  When the song comes up next in the playlist it will not only skip that song but will also skip past 1-2 other songs.

    Hey brewmaster1967,
Does this happen with any other purchased content? Download some of the free on iTunes store songs.
Deauthorize the computer and play/authorize the song in iTunes again.

  • HT1325 Purchased album fine then purchased song will not play

Purchased album fine then purchased song will not play

I had an album purchased on my iPhone5 that appeared in my iTunes library on my computer (Windows), but it would not play, didn't list the songs either.
I finally found a place in the Edit menu to update my settings:
    Edit
    Preferences
    Store
    automatic downloads
    check music, apps, books
Then I resynced my iPhone and the album showed up.  We also have an iPhone 4s and I was able to finally sync the album to that phone too.
This is all in iTunes 11   Hope this helps!

  • HT1491 I purchased a song on iTunes on my iPhone and the song will not download what do I need to do?

I purchased A song off of iTunes from my iPhone and it will not load the song it has been a day and the song will not load. The load bar starts loading and them it goes back to nothing and re starts the download. After a few minutes an icon will pop up and say this song can not be downloaded at this time and has two options retry and done. I don't know what to do, I restarted my phone and it does the same thing.

I'm on iOS 8.1 by the way. I forgot to update my phone information before posting.

  • Some new purchased songs will not sync to IPhone.  Any ideas on resolving this?

Some newly purchased songs will not sync to Iphone.  Any ideas to resolve this issue?

    Similar issue:
I purchased several complete albums from the iTunes store on my laptop. Everything syncs fine with my iPhone except for two tracks from two seperate albums. I get the same error for both tracks: "iTunes could not copy ..... to the iPhone because the file could not be converted."
From what I can tell both tracks are the same format as the other tracks on those albums - m4a (purchased AAC audio file) and wouldn't need converting (except that I have "convert higher bit rate songs to 128 kbps AAC" checked... but the other tracks convert just fine). Files play just fine on the laptop.
I checked that everything was purchased with the same user accounts. Not sure what to try next... any ideas?
In case it of any use here are the tracks:
Being Single Again (track 2 from Louis C.K.'s album Hilarious)
Letters to Magazines (track 15 from Paul F. Tompkins' album Impersonal)
Maybe the tracks are just so funny that the iPhone is cracking up too much to transfer them over.

  • When I click on I Tunes store from my library nothing happens. No matter what I do the I tunes store will not open. What can I do?

I just downloaded the new version of I tunes and I went to the I tunes store. It opened just fine and I was browsing the store. I saw a song I wanted to purchase but I decided to return to my library to make sure that I didn't already have that song. When I clicked on I tunes store to return to the store nothing happened. The store would not open. Now no matter what I do the I tunes store will not open. I don't know what to do about this problem. Please help. This is very frustrating.

  • One album will not import to authorized computer

I have a Macbook and an iMac.  Both are set up to share, both are authorized in iTunes under the Apple ID I've had for years. I make all purchases on the Macbook. Then I copy them over to my iMac by selecting the Macbook under "Shared," choosing "Show: items not in my library," and importing those songs to the iMac. I copy all purchases onto the iMac so I can delete rarely-listened-to songs/albums from the Macbook when space gets low, which is often.
There is one album that the iMac will not let me import. For each song from that one album, I get an error saying there's a problem downloading it, because "You do not have enough access priviledges for this operation. Please check that the connection to the network is active and try again."
The crazy thing is, my network connection is just fine; albums I purchased minutes before and after this one copied over fine. It's just this specific album that will not import. The summary pane for each of the album's songs look the same as all my other files: purchased AAC audio files, same bit rate, same sample rate, shows my name and Apple ID as the purchaser, same directory location on my computer, all files have the .m4a extension, ... nothing at all seems strange or unusual about this album's files.
Does anyone have a clue why this is happening and how to fix it? In the past month, I've imported close to 12,000 songs. This is the only album this has ever happened with.
P.S. If anyone's curious which album won't transfer, it's Beck's Sea Change, purchased October 2nd, 2012. Oddly enough, I originally purchased this album (from iTunes) in 2008, but in 2009 iTunes began saying it couldn't locate the files. I didn't delete them — they just up and disappeared. That's never happened with anything else before or since, either. It's as if there's something wrong with the files of this particular digital album.

    Hello welcome to apple discussions,
Itunes does tend to "Mess Up" sometimes when Importing/adding by folder. what you first need to do is try adding each file by going to File>Add FILE to library in iTunes.
If you do this and get no error message or anything but the one file you just tried to add does not show in iTUnes, its one or the other, Either the tags are corrupt or the song itself is corrupt. iTunes tends to be more "Picky" on windows then other windows based programs.
You can test the tag issue by searching google or yahoo for a program called "TidyMP3". Just pick one song that will not go into iTUnes, use Tidy MP3 to "Strip" the ID3 tag off this test song and then try to add it to iTUnes. If it goes in you now know the issue and can use this program to strip all tags off your "Problem" MP3s.
If it doesn't theres something wrong with the song itself. I covered a similar issue before where the person had the songs in iTUnes but it wouldn't play because the song was corrupt and they seemed to come accross great programs for fixing this so heres the link to that post, you can overlook it and follow the links they provide http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=2487497#2487497
