My Purchased songs have disappeared

All of my purchased songs have disappeared. I went under "Store" and then "Check for Purchases" and it gave me this error: Purchases can only be downloaded once...etc. The problem is they're not in my library anymore! Anyway, after that I went un the "Review my account" section and review my purchases...they're all showing up but are not in my library, with the exception of ONE that I bought yesterday. Please HELP! Thanks!!!!!

have you tried simply searching your hdd?

  • HT201272 Itunes purchased songs have disappeared from my Itunes Store after i changed the billing details on my appleID.  My appleID has remained the same. I changed from a US credit card to a UK credit card and back to a US card. Thoughts?

My songs purchaed from Itunes in the past no longer show up when i log into my Itunes account with my AppleID.  I have always used the same Apple ID, but i suspect it relates to the fact that I changed the billing information from a US card, to a UK card and then back to a US card.
The only songs showing up are the ones from my most recent purchases, but none of my prior purchases.
Is there a way to add these back?

Apple requires that you be a resident of the country of the store that you wish to use, supply a credit card issued by a bank in that country, with a verifiable billing address in that country.

  • HT204406 I did a sync in itunes and now almost all of my songs have disappeared from my itunes library. I'm sure they're in the cloud, but what if I want to play one on my computer? How do I find them?

    - Try resetting the iPod. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Next, restore from backup.

  • Songs have disappeared from my library and Ipod.  I have found some in trash but I did not send them there.  Others have completely gone.

Hi - I have discovered that some songs have disappeared from my itunes library and Ipod. I have found some of them in trash even though I did not trash them, as they are some of my all time favourite songs.  I have now restored these trashed songs to my library/ipod.
However I cannot find some other missing songs in trash - so I have no idea where they could be! It makes me feel very insecure about itunes as a whole.  I would prefer music to diamionds - and it disturbs me when music just disappears like that!  An explanation/solution would be gratefully received.  I wonder whether I can ask Apple to pay for the items that have gone for good!

    Andrea,
have you tried to update the Ipod? If not try that, but do not restore it. If you still cannot find the songs, there is - I suppose you are using windows - a nifty little program available from Findley Designs (www.findleydesigns.com) that allows you to transfer Music from your Ipod to your PC. Download it and see if it works with one song, if it does it is about USD 14 to buy and helps if you want to transfer songs from your Ipod to your computer. If you have transferred the music to your computer you can restore your Ipod-
    Good luck
    Thomas

  • Purchased songs? Disappeared?

My purchased songs do not show anything purchased prior to today when I bought 1 new song?? In other words my itunes purchases have disappeared? I have itunes ver 7. What can I do?

Are your purchased songs still in your iTunes library? If not, are they still on your hard drive? Remember, even if you deleted every song from your iTunes library they will still be located on your hard drive. To permanently remove them you would need to delete from the H/D. Good luck...

  • Where are my movies? Purchased movies have disappeared.

    Hi All,
I have just discovered that some of my movies have disappeared from the cloud. No warning. Nothing. I had many of my movie backed up on a hard drive but it failed recently. No worries I thought. Rebuild from the cloud. Nope.
It would seem that when the licensing agreements between Apple and a film maker end the movies are gone. This means movies I have paid for are gone. Sorry sucker. You lose.
If Apple had at least sent an email warning of the end in license to allow people to download a movie before it was lost I would not feel so betrayed. Can you imagine someone walking into your house and taking something from you that you purchased a few years ago? Sounds like theft does it not? At the very least fraud.
I am very disappointed in Apple. Lesson learned. iTunes is dead to me.

Your assumption is incorrect, the store's terms say that you may not be able to redownload an item :
As you may not be able to subsequently download certain previously-acquired iTunes Eligible Content, once you download an item of iTunes Eligible Content, it is your responsibility not to lose, destroy, or damage it, and you may want to back it up.
And some items (i.e. audiobooks and tones) are not redownloadable whether or not they remain in the store. Any other item could be removed at any time, as far as I know the rights-holder does not have to give Apple any notice that they will be doing so.

  • Purchased  books have disappeared

The books that I purchased and were always seen on my iPad bookshelf in the iBooks app have disappeared..
Does anyone know why and if I can recover them. Thanks, joanlvh

First, to recover, just go back into the store. I think you can re-download any books you've accidentally deleted. Alternatively, if you've synced, which backs up your iPad, you should find them there too.
I'm guessing you've got the book-synching unclicked in iTunes, but I can't be sure.

  • I have downloaded some new tunes onto my ipod but now find some of my already purchased items have disappeared.WHY?

Can anyone help??? I have downloaded some new tunes onto my ipod but somehow some purchased items have vanished from my Library & have been wipoed off my ipod. Help

You can only synce an iPod to one iTunes Library/one computer.  However, you can manage music among different computer . see:
Using iPhone, iPad, or iPod with multiple computers
If you want to transfer non-iTunes purchased music from an iPod to a computer other than the one you synced the music from you need to use a third-party program like one of those discussed here:

  • Songs have disappeared from my 1G iPod Touch

okay, so last night all bar 10 of my songs disappeared from my touch, they're all still on the device as the used space on the drive hasn't changed.
Heres a quick rundown of what I did leading up to the issue:
    - played a few games
    - browsed itunes for about half an hour, listened to previews and bought 2 or 3 songs
    - watched about 4 videos on youtube
    - decided to listen to some music so i opened up the music player
    - the app then froze, i could get back to the home screen but any time i opened the player it was still at a blank white screen
    - so i turned it off and waited a bit then turned it back on
    - when i opened the music player it came up with the 'you have no music, you can get music from itunes'
    - off and on again...this time it told me I had 7 songs, they were 7 songs i'd recently purchased on my ipod
    - off and on again...now i had 10 songs, 3 more recent purchases showed up.
    - off and on again about 5 more times...no extra songs showed up
    What's Missing:
    - around 7-8GB of music, as well as about $40 worth of unsynced purchases
    - A music video and my digital copy of Transformers 2
    Whats still there:
    - all my apps & data
    - 7 podcasts
NOTE: It should be noted that this has done it all on its own, as this ipod hasn't been connected to a computer for at least 2 months so there hasn't been any synching errors or the like...
I'm hoping the solution is as simple as restore and resynch, but then what about my unsynched purchases? Does iTunes allow you to redownload things without charging you?

i hadn't synched because every time i tried to itunes would jam and wouldn't synch
its a new computer, and should have no problems whatsoever with itunes yet all i seem to have is trouble with it, the store won't load on it either (and when it does load it loads as plain text html) which is why i did my purchasing solely on the touch...
it seems pretty arcane that you can't redownload songs from itunes if you've already paid for it....but oh well...
so does anyone have any idea why the touch would just stop recognising the songs on it all of a sudden?

  • All but most recent songs have disappeared

All of my albums are still in the standard location, but the albums are now empty of songs.
I am getting the "The song “*********” could not be used because the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it?" message. When I open the relevant album folder, it is empty.
The exception are the most recent album purchases which do have all songs in place.
    So my questions are:
1 - why would the iTunes application remove my song files?
    2 - how can I do a mass restoration?
I can get the tracks to play by choosing 'cancel' from the above error message, at which point iTunes takes a few seconds then pulls the track from the cloud. This isn't a solution, as I am getting the error for every track before I can play it.
    Any help greatly appreciated.

They remain in the place where I left them this morning on my MacBookPro. Also mentioning that my iPad retains all the music may help. Do I need to restore iPhone?

  • My icloud songs have disappeared off of my laptop, what can i do to get them back?

I just set up a new windows laptop, when i downloaded the new itunes it had all of my songs on which were from my icloud account. I then plugged in my iphone 5 to the laptop and pressed sync. The music that had been on my itunes was then all delted and replaced with the few songs that i had on my iphone from before i had synced it to the laptop. Is there anyway i can get the library content back or will i be stuck with the songs that i have on my phone at the moment and not be able to get the music back?

  • Burned CD's of iTunes purchased songs have noise in them, please help

Hi. I am using iTunes 7. I am having a problem. Any CD that I burn has lots of noise in them, but the songs play fine on my iPod and within iTunes. Does anyone have any information on how to solve this? Many thanks in advance.

    Lawbass,
The first thing to try is to burn the playlist on a lower burning speed. Go into Edit > Preferences > Advanced > Burning and set "Preferred Speed" to one of the lower speeds, then click OK.
That is the most common fix. But if that doesn't solve it the next thing to try is updating your driver software.
Make sure you are using CD-R blanks not CD-RWs.
