My purchased songs no longer available to download

Recently I had to wipe my laptop of a bunch of files, including my music. When I went to re-download all of my purchased music, it wasn't there. I checked the albums to make sure that they were still being sold (they were), and then I downloaded the single of the week to see if that would turn up (it did). All my other content is available too, like my movies and books, but I really want my music back. Help?

Blue,
Are you logged in to the iTunes Store with the same account that you used to buy that music in the first place?

  • Changed .Mac Account and Purchased Songs No Longer Available

I purchased over 100+ songs from the iTunes store on a Windows machine. After purchasing a new PB and a .Mac account and configuring the account with a new .Mac address, I can no longer play any of the songs I purchased. I receive an error messaage "This computer is not authroized to play XXX. Would you like to authorize it?"
The prompt for the Apple ID login defaults to my old account, not the new .Mac account. If I use the old credentials, I receive an error that the account does not exist (?!?!). Using the new .Mac account particulars does not resolve the issue.
I emailed Apple Support over a wek ago, yet have not received any reply.
Any response, clue, explanation would be greatly appreciated!
Dreading he is out a few hundred bucks,

THeres really no tellin what happened, could of been windows restored itself, antivirus interfering with itunes ect ect
What you need to do is go here and follow steps for searching your system for purchased songs http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301749
If you can't find it you need to go here, overlook the page and contact the music store where it says to http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/musicstore/lostmusic/

  • What happens if my previous iTunes purchases are no longer available to download from iCloud? Can I get a refund?

Firstly Im in the UK so I know that affects what is available in iCloud etc. But my question involves past purchases and how they are stored iniCloud.
If I was to buy a TV Series download it and watch it on my iPad and then delete it from my iPad it would be stored to iCloud so I could download it again as and when I wish to. But if that content is removed from iTunes, for whatever reason, what recourse do I have? Have I just lost the money that I originally paid?
I really want to start buying up all of digital copies of the DVDs I own but its difficult to justify if content could be removed at anytime without notice.
I hope somebody can help me with this.
    Many Thanks
    Chris

You may be able to re download past purchases, read here > Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If you delete purchases, they are no longer stored in iCloud.

  • After installing the latest ipod update some of my purchased songs no longer play

After installing the latest ipod update some of my purchased songs no longer play (though they still play on the computer).  When I tested it on another computer it claimed that computer was not authroied to play these songs even though I was just playing them directly off the ipod.  Even more strange is that I alos have a number of songs loaded on my itunes from albums I loaded and I am fairly sure these songs were ones I recorded rather than purchased but now they appear on my purchased list.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync all music and resync
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • Java SE 1.4.2 SAP no longer available for download

Java SE for Business Development Kit 1.4.2 SAP is no longer available for download at http://java.com/en/javaforbusiness/sap_download.jsp (x64 or any other version).
Does that mean that SAP and Oracle not longer have a support agreement for this?

    Hi,
Yes I know that http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/SAPsite/download.html used to work, but it does not exist any more and now redirects to http://java.com/en/javaforbusiness/sap_download.jsp.
The 941595 note now actually states the new link, and I have tried download from different networks and it does not work.

  • HT5218 Safari 5.1.5 for Mac OS X Server v10.6 is no longer available for downloading, where I can find it?

afari 5.1.5 for Mac OS X Server v10.6 is no longer available for downloading, where I can find it?

FWIW, Software Update Server on OS X Server 10.6 did occasionally corrupt itself.
If I had a case of that arise, I'd get a full backup, would shut off Software Update Server, apply the current OS X Server 10.6.8 combo update and the current and subsequent patches, then reset the Software Update Server caches and force a new download of everything, and then restart the Software Update Server.
Alternatively — and given what I've encountering with 10.6.8-vintage hardware failures in the last few months — I'd probably look to migrate to newer hardware and newer software.  Those disks are getting old, after all.
Software Update Server and Caching Server 2 on 10.9 have both been stable.
The Reposado open-source implementation of Software Update Server might provide you with an alternative approach, if Software Update Server is being recalcitrant and if you can't upgrade.

  • My purchased songs from iTunes songs no longer available in us store

    Hi,
I am trying to re-download purchased tunes from the iTunes Store. I get a warning that some songs are no longer available in the US Store!
How do I get my music back? Is it tough luck if I did not back up those files/

Unfortunately if the iTunes store does not sell the music anymore, you would not be able to re-download what is already purchased. I hope this answered your question.

  • Why is Lion no longer available to download from my purchased apps list?

I bought Lion some time ago to upgrade an old 2007 Macbook.  I never got around to it & now I want to, but when I go to my Purchased apps, Lion is there but I can't download it.  That is kind of crap.  I paid for it & now I don't have access to it.  If they want people to accept downloaded OS purchases, then they need to remain available forever to those that did purchase it.  It is not acceptable to tell me to go buy it again from the apple online store for $20.

Definitely same thing here - and I am completely sick of it.
I purchased Lion at $40, then later upgraded to MLion at $20, then when I worked on my Mac, came back to install, couldn't install Lion, but could MLion. Now, working on it again, and once again, can't install either one, but can Maverick, which was free. And it's taking some extra work for me to even get it to download.(((!!!))) So I'm having to do a complete clean install with just Maverick. My iLife '11 crap won't even install now - which also cost me money.
I'm seriously rethinking standing behind Apple any further. This is exactly like paying with a check, then turning right around and canceling it. That, in short, is ripping people off and stealing. If we purchase something, we should be given the option to keep it, so we can store it on an external, without issue because it was purchased and given the option to receive a hard copy via regular mail, because it was purchased - which would come in very handy, especially seeing that we did purchase it with money and it's now "no longer available" - that is ripping people off.
At least Windows, when you purchase something, gives you the option to have a hard copy sent to you, if you decide you want that. Apple does not via App Store.
This is another way Apple makes their money - take the money and run.
    I'm SICK of it.

  • Song no longer available for purchse error

I tried on Monday to purchase two songs but got an error saying that they were no longer available for purchase, even though a can listen to the preview. I click OK to the error prompt and thought no more of it.
I recently check my back account and I have been billed for the two songs, even though nothing was downloaded. I've selected the Check For Purchases option in the menu, but it says I have nothing to download.
Any ideas, would the fact that all my MP3 are stored on a server and not imported to my mac have anything to do with it. Itunes is set-up not to import music when I add songs, but to play them over the network.

  • Song no longer available?

I purchased the Nickelback song This Afternoon last year.  For some reason it is no longer available in the iTunes store and I cannot even get it to download into the cloud or even play on my computer.  Does anyone know why?  Or have any advice?  Thanks!

    ColbiesMom wrote:

This only matters if you are an iTunes Match subscriber, so I will assume that is the case.
But, as it says at: http://www.apple.com/itunes/itunes-match/:
" ... for the few songs that aren't [in the iTunes Store], iTunes uploads what it can't match (which is much faster than uploading your entire music library)."
So you should not have a problem.  If the song is not in the cloud, it should be on at least one of your iTunes devices.

  • Purchased music no longer available for redownload

I looked at my iTunes cloud purchases today and noticed that 1 full album was missing, and several others were missing many of the tracks in the albums.  All of the albums are available for purchase on iTunes, but are not available for redownload on my account.  I checked both iTunes with no music loaded and Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases enable ont theStore tab, AND on my iPhone where it lists the exact same music missing from my account.  Complete album missing is Karmakanic - In a Perfect World.  My incomplete albums are Hawkwind - Hawkwind, David Bowie - Hunky Dory, Van Der Graaf Generator - H to He Won Am the Only One, and most of my Gentle Giant albums.  I do not understand why I am buying music from iTunes if it is just going to disappear from my account.  This is NOT AN ISSUE ON MY END.  The music is not available for redownload, but is available for purchase.  I am forced to use Google Play to keep my music in the cloud since iTunes is not dependable.

The "missing" items are no longer available for re-download from your purchase history because for whatever reason the copyright holder of the music removed the original items you purchased from the iTunes Store and replaced them. This can happen in the case of a remastered album, for example. Bear in mind that Apple does not own the copyrights to the content it sells on the iTunes Store. If the copyright holder tells Apple to remove an item you've purchased from the store and replace it with a "new" or "improved" version Apple must do so. The result is the item will not longer be available to re-download from your purchase history.
It is your responsiblity to keep and maintain backups for all of your iTunes Store purchases, as iTunes in the Cloud is not a backup service.

  • Gifted Content is no longer available for download from store?

On Christmas in 2006, I gave my brother a season pass from iTunes for a canceled tv show called "Smith." It only cost $12.99 to get all 7 episodes (some of which never aired on tv) as well as a digital booklet containing the plot synopsis of each of the remaining 5 unfilmed episodes.
At the time his computer was severely crippled due to age and an old installation of XP and lots of other factors. It was in no shape or form to download and watch videos from iTunes on. So recently he got his computer back in good working order with a fresh installation of the OS, and so last night we went to download the episodes of Smith. He had remembered a few months ago right after his computer was up to par, but didn't know where his download code for it was. So I logged in last night to my iTunes account and got everything he needed and we tried to download it... only to get an error message saying that that content is no longer available from the iTunes store!!
I guess I can understand if they take content off the servers that isn't selling well, but shouldn't they be able to track whether or not a gifted purchase has been redeemed yet or not? I don't remember seeing anything about a download deadline when I purchased it for him. If it's not available at all anymore, shouldn't I be entitled to a refund of my $12.99?
Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this before.
    Thanks.

    yensid4him wrote:
Thanks. That worked. I submitted a note to the help dept. and they issued me a refund for $12.99. It still stinks that the content is no longer available.
Yes, but that's the way agreements with the studios work
Okay now I have another question related to this... is it possible for someone to resell (re-license?) content that they bought from the iTunes store? I mean, since this TV show will never be released on DVD, and not even all of the episodes aired on TV, could someone who was willing to "sell" (transfer) their license of it to me do so?
Nope. You don't own the rights to distribute. Your purchase only entails you to posses the product. It does not grant you any resell rights or transfer rights. The studios do not allow this at all.
I've always wondered that, because you can resell physical CDs and DVDs that you don't want anymore... is that possible with iTunes purchases? I imagine it would have something to do with authorizing computers...
You cannot compare the two. With CD's and DVD's you own the physical media (you don't own the content itself, but they are inherently linked). That's not the case with digital content which are only licensed to do certain things with them. Again, its how the media companies want to do business.

  • Playlists and purchased songs lost from new iTunes download

I've just downloaded the latest version of iTunes onto my laptop.  I've now noticed that all of my playlists are missing, and most of the songs that I've purchased from iTunes in the last 6 months or so are also missing from iTunes.  Although when I go to download them from the iTunes store it recognises that I have previously purchased them and I can download them again for free (although there are a lot of songs missing and I'm not entirely sure which ones are gone).
I still have all of the songs and playlists on my iPod, is there a way of getting them back onto my iTunes?
Any help would be much appreciated.

    Hey there Gabrielbeth1215,
It sounds like you are wanting to download your previous iTunes purchases. They are available for re download free of charge from the Cloud. Here is an article to help you get them re downloaded:
