My purchases are corrupt, how can I re-download them?

A lot of my files of puchased music became corrupt. How can I re-download them and keep all the data ie: play counts, ratings ect.? When I go to download them they are marked "downloaded". What's up with that?

If you are in a country where re-downloading is possible (iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match Availability by Country - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5085), delete the track (and the original file) and download again (Downloading [using iOS or computer] past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519). See tips on downloading in https://discussions.apple.com/message/19097773, especially unchecking the "Allow Simultaneous Downloads" box in the downloads tab of iTunes.
This will reset your playcount, ratings, and date added since you are essentially adding them as new tracks again. I don't know if a way for you to keep those without typing in 2 pages of instructions on using Applescript.

You can't. Movies are sold on a one-time only download. You would have been reminded to back them up at the time of purchase, unless you had previously opted to supress such reminders.

I have some games that I purchased about 2 years ago and just realized that they are no longer syncing because the file cannot be found. I went to the games in iTunes and it shows that I have already downloaded them - so iTunes knows that I already bought the games. How can i re-download them from iTunes again?

You can redownload all purchases by going to the Purchased section of the iTunes Store. On the desktop version of iTunes, it's listed in the Quick Links box in the right-hand sidebar.
If the games are noted there as Installed, you may need to first 'delete' them from iTunes. It is also possible that you bought them with a different Apple ID than the one you use now.

Try deleting the problematic tune (electing to remove original file if/when prompted) and then re-downloading the file from the iTunes store.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option from the Quick Links section in the top right corner of the iTunes homepage in your iTunes application on your computer.

If the problem re-occurs, select the content which is causing a problem and use the 'Report a problem' button in Your Purchase History using your computer.

If you try to download something that you've already bought, then you don't have to buy it again. You can just press download. Therefore, if the songs are fragmented, you can just delete them and re-download them without paying a penny

If you want seperate accounts for managing apps and purchasing content, basically yes, you need two account and would need to repurchase. However, if you just want seperate ID for iMessgae, icloud and such, you can do that and still continue sharing the same Id for apps and itunes.

Do those tracks still show on the album in the store ? If not then the rights-holder must have removed them, in which case you won't be able to redownload them, you will have to copy them back from your backup of your downloads/library. Films and/or TV programmes cant be redownloaded in all countries. If some show in the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app on your iPad but not all then have you changed countries since buying them, are they still in yoru country's store, and are any hidden : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4919
If you can't redownload them then do you have copies of them on your computer's iTunes library and/or on your backup of your downloads/library so that you can sync them back to your iPad ?

You can get iTunes purchases back by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
For other items you need to get them from whee yuo got them the first time.
The iPod backup that iTunes makes does not include synced mediai like apps and music. If those ore not in the iTunes library on the computer on which you performed the update they are lost.

First it would be helpful to get more info. Do you keep your music in the default location inside the iTunes folder? Do you use iTunes to keep it organized? Do you have any type of backup of either the iTunes Library files or your entire Music folder? Before reinstalling anything, check that your actual music files are still there. Go to your_homefolder/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Music and I am pretty sure that all your files are still there. iTunes keeps its library file on the root level of the iTunes folder. It is either corrupted or you somehow created a new one which subsequently is empty. Hold down the option while you click on iTunes, then choose "existing library" and browse to your iTunes folder and select the iTunes Library file and see what happens. Report back if your iTunes Library file is corrupt.

You can have a different receiving email in the Messages app on each device : Settings > Messages > Receive At . I'm not sure that there is a different way to have the message only go to one device.
