My QT player plays the movie but with no sound or picture
I have just downloaed the DivX application and it is still not working, not sure what to o with it now.... please help!!
Open the file with QuickTime Player and then open the Movie Inspector window to tell us more about the file.

So I want to pause the audio midway, and play it again from where I left off, but it doesn't let me do that. It plays the rest of the movie without audio. So I would have to rewind the whole animation to hear it. This makes syncing animation pretty hard. Any ideas on how to fix this?
It sounds like you have placed the music into a keyframe on the timeline of your movie. Go to that first keyframe and select it on the timeline, then go to the Properties window. Set the Sync option to Stream. This should allow the sound file to work as you want.

Hi, I have downloaded some avi files and mov files. i am not getting audio while playing the movie. i tried to play with iTunes, QT, DivX player. but I am getting audio in mp4 files. can u help me to fix this
First, back up all data and then uninstall "DivX" according to the developer's instructions.

i used a code i got with my moive to download the itunes version and i was watching the itunes extras, but now when i click on "play itunes extras" it plays the audio but the only thing it displays is the first frame (the movie is catching fire) i deleted the movie and reinstalled from my icloud backup and it still does the same thing. The actual movie works fine, its just the itunes extras

VLC plays anything you throw at it. At least 99.999999%. What type of file (suffix) is this movie file? Where did you get the movie from?

You need to determine from the vendor if the player is compatible w/Maverick. Have you done this yet? If not, why not? -
How can I make my Apple TV work? I downloaded two movies, to play later, on April 4, 2014. I tried to watch them this evening only to get a message they are not available and to try later. How long can it take Apple to download the movies? I encourage anyone thinking about buying an Apple TV to get a different media player that is reliable. Apple TV is not worth the money, nor the time it takes to download movies, nor the effort trying to get your money back when Apple TV fails,and it failsl oftern.. Apple never seems to have a problem charging for the movies, but it frequently has a provlem delivering what people pay for.

Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.
Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
Restart your router.
Reset the Apple TV (Settings > General > Reset > Reset all settings)
Restore the Apple TV (Settings > General > Reset > Restore) -
Can somebody help me figure this out? So before a road trip I rented a movie on my Ipad mini. The movie fully loaded before I left. It downloaded under wifi. Now that I'm in the car I tried to watch the movie but it isn't working. When I press play an error message pops up saying "could not load movie" can I not watch it with our wifi? What's going on? What can I do to watch the movie?

Can't play rented movies. They appear to download OK and the timer accurately reports days remaining to watch. But whenever I try to play the movie I get this message, "An error occurred loading this content. Try again later.". Have been using the Apple TV for 2 weeks and everything else seems to work OK. The Apple TV reports its SW is up to date. I've tried this with two movies rented frim iTunes directly from the Apple TV.
If after you download the movie, you navigate away and do something else with your Apple TV the content you have downloaded will be overwritten and you'll need to download it again. It's a pain in the neck for many who have slow downloads but it's something that comes with using volatile memory rather than a hard drive for storage.
Perhaps you're not doing this, but I thought it worth mentioning. -
i rented a movie on apple TV. I can watch the movie but no voice. The preview is fine with voice.
Suspect it's playing in Dolby Digital 5.1 - go to settings for audio/video and turn Dolby Digital to off.

When I try to play a movie I downloaded from iTunes on my apple tv, the error message I get says the apple tv is not authorized to play the movie. I reauthorized the computer to be sure it is authorized ( as per Apple advice).

If this is the Apple TV 1, this is a new issue which started with any new protected content purchased after October 28.
You could de/re authorise your computer, disconnect and reconnect the library and resync your content, alternatively purchasing content directly from the Apple TV also appears to resolve the problem. -

I have started to put my Digital Copies to my IMac with external hard drive, then on my MacBook Pro I can see the movies, but if I close out my IMac, I can't access my movies on my laptop???

we have a movie downloaded on a laptop connected to the internet pluged into our router in the basement and an apple tv upstairs trying to play the movie through home sharing but it wont play. can anyone tell me whats wrong? it comes to the last loading page where it shows the desscription of the movie befor it acually plays.
It can come about without any change done by the user, and it's not just from other networks. The placement of the router can also affect performance. Also make sure router is up to date.
Apart from that would be the reboots.
