My question last time didn't get answered. Can I send in my iPod touch for a new one if I have a two year warranty?

My iPod touch 5th gen isn't charging, when I plug in my charger I've always used. It's an apple product and a message pops up saying "This accessory may not be supported" The charger isn't the problem because my mom used her iPhone with my charger and her phone charges fine with it. For Christmas, I got a portable charger and I used it the day after Christmas for a little bit and it worked, but then 20 minutes later my brother wanted to use it. So I let him use it. Then I went to go use my normal charger instead and when I plugged it in that message popped up. It's been like this sense the day after Christmas and the only way it charges is right before I swipe right to turn my iPod all the way off I plug my charger in real fast before the message can pop up. I've tried resetting my iPod, cleaning out the area it charges, and few other things. I've also tried getting help from people that work with technology at some stores. They all told me I had to contact Apple Support Communities. I'm trying to contact you guys, but last time I did it didn't solve my problem. I really want to get an answer to be able to fix it or have it replaced. I'm 13 and saved all my money on my own to get the iPod have. It took me a long time to save and I really don't it to be broken and not be able to get it replaced. Someone please help my resolve this.

You late question did get answered:on the 18th of this month. Sounds like you did not like the answers. Starting a new post without mentioning yur first post wastes people time

  • I have an older Ipod Touch, I bought a new one and the Itunes on my computer is too old to recognize my new Ipod Touch and cannot be updated.  Is there a creditable software program I can use to get all my old music from my old iPod Touch to the new one?

I have an older iPod Touch, I bought a new one and the Itunes on my computer is too old to recognize my new iPod Touch and Itunes cannot be updated.  Is there a creditable software program I can use to get all my old music from my old iPod Touch to the new one?  It is my understanding that the music cannot be saved onto my new iTunes, b/c I did not have iCloud. I have over 2,000 songs I just cannot part with. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help some how!!  THANKS!

I had the same problem with my iPad, i couldn't get the newer version of itunes because the computer was too old and my iPad couldnt sync with the old itunes. I got a PC from school a few months later so that solved the problem for me. Unfortunately i don't think there would be a program to put your music on your iPod, iTunes should be the only way to transfer files to Apple devices. What operating system are you running and what version of it is it?

Do not connect the Devices... is not advisable nor how it is done.

The Sync Process is via iTunes...

  • Can i send in my ipod touch if the back of it is scratched to get it fixed?

i am not sure what apple can do for this kind of situation. i would really like to see my ipod in better condition. it was found on a bus and nobody claimed it for 3 months or 90 days so the bus driver said i could have it. i really would like to get it fixed as much as it can get fixed. the only part of the ipod im concerned about is the back of it bacause it is all scratched and i think it may be able to be fixed by apple. can anybody tell me if they know if this can be fixed by apple?

  • I just upgraded to a 4th generation ipod touch. How do I get all of my stuff from my 2nd generation ipod touch to my new one?

I have already tried to do a back up on my second generation iPod, but for some reason it wouldn't sync to my new iPod because it wasn't compatible. I literally want to take everything from my old iPod  (the contacts, photos, notes, everything) and put it on my new one.

It sounds like both iPods need to be running the same version of iOS. If it's possible to upgrade both to iOS 6 then do that and try again.
If not, just back up your older iPod to iTunes, so that all your music, apps, etc. are in the iTunes library and then move them manually to your new iPod once connected. It will take longer but it's better than nothing.

  • Previous iPod Touch worked fine, new iPod Touch can't get an IP Address

I had a version 1.1.4 iPod Touch for several days and it worked quite well. I was able to automatically connect to wireless connections at work, at home and at my parents house without meddling with any wireless settings and by just using DHCP.
The other day I exchanged the iPod Touch for a different one, due to a defect in the case manufacturing, and with this iPod Touch, I haven't been able to connect to any of the previously mentioned wireless networks. I noticed that I wasn't able to get an IP address at all at my parents house, but I figured it was because I hadn't upgraded to 1.1.4, and was still at 1.1.3. I upgraded to 1.1.4 though this morning and at the work network, I'm having the same issue. I can easily connect to the wifi networks, but if I look at the DHCP settings, it's all blank. I can't get an IP address.
I looked around the forum here and found a great deal of people who for some reason couldn't connect to their particular wireless setup. This problem however is different in that I could easily connect to many wireless setups, but now that I've seemingly just switched to a different iPod Touch, I can't connect to the same ones at all.
It seems weird to me that the issue could just be that I got a different iPod, and I really think there must be some other reason, but I can't think of one. From all outward appearances they're the exact same. Same networks, same version.
What else could be the issue?

If your new Touch can't get on any network, then does it have a MAC address assigned to it? Go to Settings/General/About and scroll to the bottom to see if you have a "Wi-Fi Address", which is the MAC address assigned to your particular unit.
    See this article for reference:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=306067
If you're able to get on some networks but not others (where you had no problem before) then perhaps there is a subtle difference in the new unit's performance. You can try restoring it to see if that helps, but that means erasing everything and starting over.

  • Reposting a question that didn't get answered in previous post: best preset to save mpeg project?

So it took me a week or so to get to try out the answer I'd gotten, & I couldn't get that answer to work, and then my follow-up question didn't get answered, which makes me wonder if threads & discussions kinda die if they're not kept up? (I'm not very experienced in how these forums work, apologies).  In case that is the case, I'm starting this new one, but refer you back to the old (unfinished) one.  Just scroll down to the last few exchanges to get the gist of it.  Thanks . . .  Mark
    the previous discussion:   http://forums.adobe.com/message/4663058

Steve--Sorry if this approach wasn't the best--as I said, I'm not well-versed in forum protocol-- but I did post it last week to the end of that discussion as you recommended but didn't get a response, so I wasn't sure how best to proceed from there.  Anyway, hopefully this works ok for you.  Here's a copy of the relevant exchange. I'd written:  "I'm using a Lumix DMC-ZS7 which, on the small test I did, was set to 640x480 & is a MOV file, and while the "correct" preset choice isn't there, there is probably a best choice among the many choices that are there, and that is my question--which should I choose for this particular clip at this resolution?  Both for quality & cross-platform usability?  The camera also has AVCHD Lite", whose specs read: -- SH: 17Mbps /H:13Mbps /L:9Mbps ) / 30fps (Motion JPEG)   1280x720 pixels, NTSC Mode: NTSC model: 60p(CCD output is 30p)."
You wrote back:  "Shoot in AVCHD Lite and, when you set up your Premiere Elements project, select the project settings for AVCHD Lite and you should get much better results.
Obviously, your video is not going to look perfect at full screen on a computer no matter what output settings you use. Your monitor is likely larger than 1280x720. But you should then be able to output using Share/Disc/WMV setting your output for 1280x720 using the Advanced settings."
And here's my follow-up, & hopefully final, question, from last week:
"Hi Steve-- I just now had time to try out your recommendation--and I will in the future shoot in AVCHD Lite--but for the existing mpeg stuff--I could not find the settings you recommended.  ("Obviously, your video is not going to look perfect at full screen on a computer no matter what output settings you use. Your monitor is likely larger than 1280x720. But you should then be able to output using Share/Disc/WMV setting your output for 1280x720 using the Advanced settings.")  Firstly, I took this to be your answer to my question of how best to save mpegs, not AVCHD Lite, am I right there?  Under Share/Disc I couldn't find any WMV settings whatsoever in any of the choices, nor was there any Advanced option.  Under Share/Computer there is the Advanced option--but again, I couldn't find a WMV setting.   I did find 1280x720 under the Share/Computer/mpeg presets, as a couple HD 720 options & three HDTV 720 options.  If indeed one of those is the best choice--which one?  Or is your original suggestion still the one, with its non-obvious location to be revealed?  (by the way, I've got Premiere v10.0).
Question 2-- when I do start using the AVCHD lite, is there any one preset you can advise as the best one to use?
    Thanks again--Mark

  • I have an iPhone 4 and getting a iPod touch for my child, my question is whether to create separate account or have a shared account? I want to share some music and apps but not all and I also want her to be able to iMessage and face time with her owniPod

I have an iPhone 4 and getting a iPod touch for my child, my question is whether to create separate account or have a shared account? I want to share some music and apps but not all and I also want her to be able to iMessage and face time with her own iPod and own account .   What's the best way to go?

You can use one Apple ID for purchasing (App Store & iTunes Store) and shared with your child whereas your child uses a different Apple ID for Game Center, e-mail, FaceTime, iMessage. Even on iCloud there you'll get an extra 5GB free.

I just restored my ipod touch for the first time because it was unreadable in itunes, and I had manually backed up my ipod to iCloud prior.
The ipod is restored, but cloud not downloading any of my messages and pictures, and the other files that iCloud claims to back up?
How do I put these on my restored itouch?
    Thanks everyone

What messages? What app? The backup includes Messages (iMessage, SMS, and MMS),
What photos? How did the photos get on the iPod
The backup only includes photos in the iPod's camera roll album.

    m1doc,
Are you migrating from a Mac or a MS Window machine? Either way you probably should be in touch with AppleCare, you have 90 days of free AppleCare telephone support. They can usually help on issues like this. If you don't know the phone number please use http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57 to help find the number in your country.

Can you connect to a wifi source on the device? Enable wifi in settings on the device itself. If you don't have wifi at home, there may be a local hotspot you can use for this.
The reason this happens is carriers don't want people downloading huge files that would slow their network as well as eat up your data plan.
