Can anybody suggest how to solve this problem.  I have an iPad mini that gas locked up.  I cannot get into the menu to turn org the "find my iPad" setting.  Is there another way...by the way, the menu button at the bottom of the iPad has stopped working, too.

If this is your iPad, no problem.   Access your iCloud account.

You may need to restore from the cloud as so far the only way to unlock is to remove from your iCloud and erase the device.  There has to be a better way.
There is a ton of info on finding an iPhone with iCloud.   Where is the info on getting it working again after it is recovered?

  • My ipod touch has entered restore mode, but when I attempt to restore it I get the error code 1604.

My daughters ipod touch has entered restore mode, but when I attempt to carry out a restore I get an error code 1604.
Any easy solution to this problem?

Error 1604: This error is often related to USB timing. Try changing USB ports, uninstalling and reinstalling USB ports, and other available USB troubleshooting steps (troubleshooting USB connections, device not recognized properly, computer won't recognize a FireWire or USB device). If you are using a dock, bypass it and connect directly to the white Apple USB dock connector cable. If the issue persists on a known-good computer, the device may need service.
If the issue is not resolved by USB isolation troubleshooting, and another computer is not available, try these steps to resolve the issue:
Connect the device to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode, put it into Recovery Mode.
Restore and wait for error 1604.
    When prompted, click OK.
Close and reopen iTunes while iPhone remains connected.
iPhone should now be recognized in Recovery Mode again.
    Try to restore again.
If the steps above do not resolve the issue, try restoring using a known-good USB cable, computer, and network connection.

The Touch is functionally a small iPad.

That's true ONLY if you limit yourself to iTMS purchases.  iCloud does not store photos or anything else that the device owner created.

  • I want to give my old iPod touch to a friend.  How do I get my Apple ID off of it so he can buy his own music and apps?

I want to give my old iPod touch to a friend.  How do I get my Apple account ID off of it so he can use his own password and account?

Unless you want to go through the full routine of deleting the Apple ID and any personal information...and keep in mind, all content is owned by the Apple ID used to download it so nothing on there can be updated.
Go to Settings > iTunes and App Stores > Apple ID and remove the ID.
Go to Settings > iCloud or any other place you will have links to your own account and remove the links.
Go to Settings > Mail, Calendars and Contacts and remove all account information.
Go to Settings > Messages and remove all account information
Go to Settings > WiFi and remove all account information.
    And so on.

  • My ipod touch has been stolen. What can I do about it?

My ipod touch has been stolen. Can I report it? How can i track it to get it back or something?

Call the cops, change your passwords, call your home owner's insurance agent to report the theft (Insurance MAY cover your loss...), buy a new iPod 'cause your's is long gone...
And FMP is worthless for locating an iPod.  FMP uses wireless router locations, so if your router is not registered, or the location data was not properly reported, FMP will say your iPod is in BFE (Bum F#$% Egypt) or some such place.

  • I have an iPod touch version 4.2.  how can I get my music from here to my computer or iPad or the cloud?

how can I get my music from my iPod touch version 4.2 to the cloud so I can listen to it on my iPad or computer? I tried a manual transfer from iTunes but that doesn't work.

    - For iTunes purchases:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
In iTunes 11 use Control+B to show the Menu bar then go to iTunes>File>Devices>Transfer Purchases
    - For other music you need a third-party program like one of those discussed here:

My iPod is missing, needing the serial number.  Read in iTune support that the information is located in iTunes.  Cannot figure out how to find it.
    Any help is greatly appreciated

@frazzldmot when was the last time ur ipod was synced to computer?
if it was with in the last 30 days list will show ur ipod sn number with out ur ipod
Open iTunes without connecting your iPod touch. Hold the "Ctrl" key and click "Help" and "About iTunes" if you are using a Windows system, or click "iTunes" and "About iTunes" if you are on a Mac. If your iPod touch was the last device connected to iTunes, its serial number will scroll on the screen.

  • My new ipod touch is recognized under devices but wont sync anything or show any of the ipod info when i click on it, my new ipod touch is recognized under devices but wont sync anything or show any of the ipod info when i click on it

My new ipod touch is recognized under devices when i plug it into my computer but when i click on it, all that shows up is the word ipod in the middle of the screen. it wont let me sync anything on it either.

It sounds like you need to set it up, and that makes sense because you said that its a new iPod. Just go through the steps of setting up a new iPod and you should be good.

    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem. I would take it back to where the screen was replaced.
