My recorded sound doesnot work

when i try to record something through my webcam there is no sound and also when i use my oovoo the microphone doesnt work but my speakers work just fine

Hey Molly, Most of the time the switch inside the headphone port gets stuck open, so your iPod thinks the headphones are plugged in. First inspect the port for foreign debris, if you see something, try to blow it out. If you must with a toothpick carefully remove the debris. If it appears clear, then quickly plug / unplug the headphones about 12 times to free the switch. You may have to repeat. If that does not solve try resetting. Press and hold the power and home buttons until the Apple logo appears. Usually around 10 seconds+/-, then release both buttons. Or go into Settings>General>Reset, then tap Reset All Settings. For the next two options, make sure you backup the iPod to your computer first then, restore the iPod from backup. Last resort, Restore to New. If none of the above work, then you most likely have a hardware issue. Contact your Apple store, and setup an appointment to have your iPod evaluated. Good luck. Cheers.

  • My video recording sounds not working but other sounds are working fine, I've tried clearing the little mic thing near my earphone hole and had no success can someone please help me out?

    hhi guys
my video recording sounds not working at all but it's working for other things such as music. I've tried to clear my sound thing near the earphone hole but had no success can someone please help me out?

Had an Iphone 4 for about 3 months now. This happened to the first one I had and they ended up having to replace it at the apple store just a couple weeks ago 6/2. It happened again last night to my new one. This time i was able to correct it by going to itunes, backing up the phone to icloud, and then restoring the software. Mine did not work with voice memo, but did work with headphones plugged in, and would also work on speaker. I could hear callers but they couldn't hear me. I had purchased a new case (lifeproof case at $79.99) because it comes with plugs that cover the headphone jack, and the charging port, and is also waterproof. I heard that the root cause is due to lint, dirt, etc getting inside the headphone jack. Well, must be something else. It's a 10 days old phone, and has been in this overpriced case the whole time, and I have not used the headphones. I hope this doesn't keep happening.

    Hello muzaherul hoque,
I would start troubleshooting your iPhone with the following steps:
Verify that there is nothing plugged in to the headset jack, including headsets, headphones, or adapters.
Make sure the Ring/Silent switch is not switched to silent.
While on the Home screen, adjust the volume buttons. If you see the icon below, indicating that headphones are attached, there may be debris or an object lodged in the headset jack:
Check the headset jack. If there is an object lodged in the headset jack that is not easily removed, have the iPhone serviced to remove object.
For Original iPhone: If there is light debris, such as lint, in the headset jack, try connecting a pair of headphones to the headset jack and then remove the headphones. Repeat this several times to remove the debris.
If you have installed a protective film on the display, either ensure that the receiver is not covered or remove the film completely.
Check the receiver mesh (which is on the top front of the device, above the display). If it appears blocked, use a clean, small, dry, soft-bristled brush to carefully and gently brush away any debris.
If you have paired with a Bluetooth headset that is nearby, either use the headset or turn Bluetooth off (choose Settings > General > Bluetooth).
    Restart the iPhone.
If restarting the iPhone doesn't resolve the issue, try restoring the device.
If the issue persists, go to the Service Answer Center - iPhone for information on service.

  • Recorded sound not working

Hi. i work in a small school and we use ipads in every class from 4 year olds to 11 year olds. The youngest childrens ipad has suddenly stopped playing back recorded sound on videos. if i put the video onto a pc or mac the sound works so i know its recording and the mic works. My guess is they have turned something on or off but i'm stumped as to what. Any ideas?

My first thought on this one is that you should do two things:
1- Make sure you are running the latest updates for your operating system
2 - Reinstall quicktime if #1 does not change anything.
Here is how to reinstall quicktime:

  • Satellite A100-234: Real Player recording sound not working

    Hi
I have problem with my sound system. I have satellite A100-234.
When i try to record from to sound recording it doesn't record..
plz plz plz help me if you can

I learned from searching with google that some sound cards do not have the ability to record what you hear. So the only choices are CD, mic and line-in. Other computers have a "wave out" option as well. Can the alc861 record "wave out" sounds?
I can't even get the Windows Sound Recorder to record. The only recording that I can do is through the microphone jack. I can't record from the CD Player or anything else.
Does anyone know the solution? If not, is there a place that we should look for this solution?

  • Microphone is not recording sound.

When I try to record, this happens.
    $ arecord -d 5 test-mic.wav
ALSA lib pcm_dsnoop.c:618:(snd_pcm_dsnoop_open) unable to open slave
arecord: main:722: audio open error: No such file or directory
I got an HP pro book. Anyone have any tips on how to get it recording sound (video works fine)?

Is your user in the audio group (this may be different now with systemd)?  Sometimes you need PA to get the mic to record.

  • IMovie not recording sound with iSight image

In system preferences > sound, I have Built-in microphone selected. But Audacity won't record sound (never works anyway) and iMovie will record image from the iSight, but no sound.
    What am I missing?

You're welcome. After further investigation, not only does the volume in the system preferences affect the mic, the actual "voice over" (microphone icon) does as well, even though I'm recording with iSight and not, specifically, a voice over.
However, fantastic YouTube video diaries or whatever they're called must be done on a PC or a Mac that knows how to shut up. If there's one thing right now that's about to make this computer fly through the air, it's the fans that rev up to 6000 and even an external mic picks up the noise. Not much I can do about it. Maybe Snow Leopard and iLife '09 solved the issue.

  • In my first iPhone 5, the speaker didn't work and people could not hear me on Speaker phone when I used it. When I used the video recording it did not record sound at all only a hissing/static sound, no voice.

In my first iPhone 5, the speaker didn't work and people could not hear me on Speaker phone when I used it. When I used the video recording it did not record sound at all only a hissing/static sound, no voice. I wished for a software fix. I did a hard reset, nothing. I did a full restore to factory settings not putting my backup on and the problem persisted.

I did every step in the link that i have been provided with (thank you), but I’m
still experiencing the same issue. My experience with Apple has been
excellent and this has been the first time I have experienced something
like this with an Apple product. I hope we can find a quick solution.
In order to get the iPhone 5 as soon as it launched (being a major fan of
Apple products!), I purchased my iPhone 5 from the UK through a friend of
    mine who lives there.
My question is: can I have the faulty device replaced within Saudi by one
of the official resellers here (we have 3: STC, Mobily and Zain)? I want to
avoid the disruption, complication and expense of sending it back to the
    UK.
Could you advise whether this is possible or not, and if not how should I
go about having the device replaced?
Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

    Nice try! Take a hike.

  • I cant get the sound to work on my iphone 4 after i record a movie

after i record a short video i am unable to get the sound to work. what am i doing wrong?

Did you already try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again? You will not lose data, but a reset can cure some glitches.
If this does not work, try to set it up as new device, explained in this article:
How to back up your data and set up as a new device
Don't use the backup afterwards, to rule out a software problem. If the camera is working again, restore from the backup.

This is the first time I have used the forum. My iphone4 microphone won't record sound on video clips, and won't work with Skype.

  • Internal and external microphone doesnot working on HP probook 6550b

    HP probook 6550b.  Windows 7 Pro SP1 64bit.
Sound works without any problems but my microphone suddenly stops working today.
Usually i use my internal microphone.
I tried to plug in one of my external microphones to mic jack and it also doesnot working. I check my 2 external microphones on other PC and they both are woking properly.
    1) Nothing new was installed today.
    2) To fix this i tried to swich in sound properties default device but i dont see any green volume level behind mic images for both.
    3) I removed all audio drivers
    4) After PC was restarted windows installed default drivers but i still cannot record any sound. (Checked in skype and by green record level indicator in sound properties)
    5) Also for default windows drivers i tried to switch my default microphone in 'sound' window settings and also plug in and out my external mics and without results.
Screen shot of windows after default windows drivers was installed:
    What it can be?
    Thanks.

First question, i would answer yes :
About this mac >Materiel > Audio (intégré) > audio haute définition Intel > microphone interne > connexion interne
    Second question :
in system preference > microphone interne  is black and not grey.
bars "sound test" near menu "entry level" does not move at all even if I shout...
    Third question :
The power supply has been totaly replaced by a new one.
    4rth :
Yes, no problem with speakers integrated or with the one of the headset...
On skype : i Hear but can not speak.
(i tested the headset on a PC, it works)

  • Audio-Recording does not work in Quicktime

    Hello,
I've got a new MacBook with Mac OS X 10.4.10 and Quicktime 7.2 Pro and I try to record audio with QT. In the Quicktime settings I tried to change the Input Source, but instead of "Built-In Microphone" or "Line-In" there are two entries called qtpCaptureDeviceName... I can choose one entry and also the levelmeter works but when I press the red record Button nothing happens. In the systempreferences dialog, the input devices are correct and I also can record sound from both input devices with Audacity. Any ideas?
    Greets, Kim

    Hey
Thats sounds to me like a problem with a preference file. If you have apple care it might be worth giving them a call to see they know of a file problem. If not try opening garage band and recording with that to see if it has the same problem.
Hope you get this sorted, sorry cant help further.

  • AUDIODG.EXE hogging 80-100% of CPU and sound not working in Vista . . .

I posted this on a Microsoft Answers Forum but none of the techs or people reading have been able to help so far.  I'm dying to get to the bottom of this:
    Here is my computer:
    MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum
    AMD Athlon 64 3000+
    2GB RAM
    XFX GEFORCE 6600 GT 128MB DDR3 DUAL DVI & TV OUT (PCI-E)
    200GB WD SATA HDD
500GB WD HDD in external enclosure via USB2
NEC ND-3520A 16X DVD±RW Dual Layer DVD Burner
    LG CD Burner
I've been using Vista Home Premium successfully for some time.  Recently, not too long after I did a clean wipe of my OS, my audio would stop working.  The way it would happen is that everything would work fine until I started iTunes or another audio application and when I would hit play, things would lock up.
Upon inspection of my system resources, I'm noticing that the audio platform for Vista, via the audiodg.exe, is using close to 100% of my CPU resources, even when the computer is making no sound at all.
I've had a Sound Blaster Live! card in my computer for some time but I was not using it; I use the Realtek AC'97 audio drivers that are on my motherboard instead.  I thought that the conflict may be the computer wanting to recognize my Sound Blaster, so I took it out of my computer but the problem seems to be worse.
Are there any BIOS setting that need to be adjusted for my sound to start working again?
I'm very reliant on the audio processing power of my computer (I'm in the radio industry, part-time) and this is a huge drag on my productivity.
Any tips would be much appreciated.
    REPLY #1:
Thank you for using Microsoft Answers forum.  I suggest going to the manufacture of your sound card and download the latest drivers and install them.
    MY RESPONSE:
Good suggestion.  The problem is this:
I am running on-board audio.  I have an MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum motherboard which runs "Realtek ALC Series AC97 Audio Driver" and there is no version for Vista. They have a version for Windows 2K/XP and one for Windows XP 64bit.
Should I use on of those and if not, then what?
    UPDATE (from me):
I took a chance and found a Realtek AC'97 driver for Vista.
    http://drivers.softpedia.com/progDownload/Realtek-AC-97-Audio-Codec-Driver-Vista-6183-Beta-Download-18114.html
I went to install it and the install hung.  So, I closed one of the install windows and then the InstallShield app continued like it was working.  So, I hit "Restart my computer".  Well, the reboot hung too.  So, I reset the PC manually.
When the computer came back up, the sound worked.  Hard to tell if this will fix it for good but it's promising.  Chaotic.  Unpredictable.  Annoying.
    REPLY #2:
Before you tried updating drivers, did you try rebooting 1st?
I'm just trying to determine if rebooting your system is what resolved the issue - thank you
    UPDATE II (from me):
My computer is behaving the same way it was before.  AUDIODG.EXE taking up 80-100% of my CPU and the sound not working.
    Any other ideas?

Small update: Despite my intelligence, good looks and vast experience I use Google sometimes. To my surprise this file turns out to be a Windows one. Here is someone who is much happier, and since it is some way in my line of thinking I'll quote it, but you might take my previous advice as well:
    http://forums.techarena.in/windows-vista-performance/1012315.htm
"- Open up msconfig.exe > Manage startup programs.
    - Disable ALL Realtek entries
    - Close msconfig.exe
    - Right-click on the speaker icon > Audio devices > Speakers (properties)
    - Go to the enhancements tab
    - Check the box to disable all audio enhancements
    - Close the menu
    - Right-click on the speaker icon > Recording devices
    - Disable all your microphones (yeah..., the actual problem seems to come
    from voice inputs rendering..)
    - Close the menu
    - Restart your computer"
