My ringtones do not sync to iphone after upgrade to OS5, why?

I upgraded to IOS 5 on my Iphone 4 and now I only have standard ringtones. My ringtone folder is in the correct place in Itunes and the ringtones are checked to sync.

Yahoo Calendars entries created on Yahoo do not sync on iphone after upgrad

After upgrading to IOS4, any previous or new calendar entries that have been created on the web in Yahoo calendars do not appear on the iphone. However, if you create a new yahoo calendar entry on the iphone then it appears without any problem in yahoo calendars (and also is removed if you delete from the iphone).
The calendar is turned on correctly in Mail, Contacts, Calendars for the Yahoo accounts I have and I have even deleted and re-created the accounts on the iphone to see if that makes a difference and it does not.
Prior to the upgrade to iOS4, the yahoo calendars all worked fine.

To fix yahoo calendars then do the following:-
To reset, go to Settings, Mail, Contacts, Calendar. In this menu, go to "Calendars" options which is near the bottom. In the Sync categories change the setting from "*All Events*" to "*Events 6 Months Back*". Go to the calendar app and it should now Sync all of your Yahoo calendars. Go back to settings and change Sync settings back to "All Events" and they should all still appear.
Also, for each yahoo account, go into them and make sure that Calendars is set to on.

If you restored as new, without using a backup, and still only get an option to restore, there is a hardware problem or the phone was previously hacked (jailbroken, downgraded iOS, unauthorized unlock). Your only option is to take it to Apple or whoever provides iPhone service in your country.

Just did. Uncheck sync photo check box and sync. Then check sync photo check box and sync. Solved.

IPhone does not work in car after upgrading to os5

After upgrading to os5 my build in hands free device does not work properly anymore, lot of noise, disconnects, connects in general not usable anymore.
How to fix this?

Does your aftermarket solution connect to the Nano's headphone jack or to the dock connector?
If it connects to the headphone jack I would suggest buying an iPhone headphone adapter. I'm expecting mine to arrive via FedEx tomorrow so that I can use my iPhone in the car with a cassette adapter.

Bookmarks not syncing on iPhone after iOS 4.3 update

I have the following problem since the iOS 4.3 update on 1 iPhone 3GS and 2 iPads (no problem on iPhones 4)
If I attach device to iTunes and start syncing, everything seems synced except the bookmarks. I get either messages:
'iTunes could not sync bookmarks to the iPhone "name" because an error occured while merging data.'
'iTunes could not sync bookmarks to the iPhone "name" because the bookmarks are in use bu the iPhone.'
If I do a second sync - without quiting iTunes - the bookmarks are synced.
Any idea how to solve this ?

Any update on this. All problems started with the update to iOS 4.3. It is with first sync only after connecting to iTunes Mac. After a second sync I get no error

Does anybody know why ringtones aren't syncing to iphones after the upgrade?

After upgrading and going through the whole rigamarole, i am not able to sync my ringtones even though they are on itunes and checked to sync, they are not showing up on my phone

Is it longer than 40 seconds? If so, it won't show up; you'll have to trim it down.

Ipod touch will not sync podcasts consistently after upgrading

I don't know if anyone else noticed this or not. Whenever I have a new podcast I normally just sync my iPod touch and everything is good.
After upgrading to iTunes 10, when I sync not all of the podcasts come over to my iPod. It's very hit and miss, sometimes one or two new podcasts will come over, sometimes none. Usually if I sync again everything is ok. But it is a real pain to have to check every podcast to make sure it was updated properly.
Has anyone else experienced this? I don't suppose there is a fix?

It's truly amazing: with iTunes 10.0 there was a difference how iTunes represented podcasts to ipod and iPhone. With 10.1 it's not corrected, just changed:
During sync take a look at your device specifically podcasts: if it's an iPod you will only see the podcasts that have candidates for download - if it's an iPhone you'll see all podcast-subscriptions.

Smart Playlist is not syncing to iPod after upgrade to iTunes 9

Since upgrading to iTunes 9, one of my smart playlists is no longer syncing to my iPod, however, it syncs fine with my iPhone.
The conditions for the playlist are:
Media kind is podcast
PlayCount is 0
Any ideas why it's not syncing?

Quick fix: Make a regular playlist. Drag the contents of the smart playlist into it. Sync the new playlist.
WIthout seeing the rules for your smart list it is hard to guess what the problem is, but you may get better results if you break it down into more sublists gathered together in a playlist folder.

Itunes 10 does not 'see' my iphone after upgrading my Imac to Snow leopard

Hi,
I just upgraded my iMac to Snow Leopard 10.6.3. When I plug my iphone (4) (USB), Itunes does not sync my phone, and it does not even appear as being connected to my iMac. I dont have any other issues.
I should add that I always have connected my Iphone through the USB on the keyboard, as I dont have enough USB slots in the back. This has worked just fine in the past. The keyboard is wired.

Try plugging it into one of the USB ports on the Mac itself and see if that works.

Voices are not sync with video after upgrade to imovie11

After the upgrade to Imovie11, the voices are not sync with the movie.
I digitaled a lot of Sony Handicam Video 8 (HI8) tapes, also many other tapes.
All the movies, incl. the new ones, has the problem with de voices.

I gather you are using DV files. Here's what you should expect after upgrading to version 9.0.2 of iMovie '11: if you have event-clips that are longer than an hour and half you will have a noticeable lack of synchronization near the end of the clip. The only way I know of reducing the gap between audio and video while still using iMovie '11 is to open the file in QuickTime 7 (not X) and trim the file so that only the footage your tying to fix is left. Save that shortened file and import it into iMovie. It should seem synchronized now. But there is probably a remaining problem: the picture quality is has been lowered by being in iMovie. To check this, open you DV files in MPEG Streamclip. If there is no improvement in quality, you're lucky. When I play my DV files (from Video8--the original analog 8mm video) in MPEG Streamclip the color and tones are much richer. In iMovie '11 (and, I think, iMovie '09), the picture is washed out, lacking color saturation and general subtlety. This makes all makes iMovie '11 (at least) essentially useless for DV files--if my experience is generalizable. What I don't know at this point is whether these two kinds of problems (lack of synchronization and picture degradation) are avoidable by using iMovie '06 or Final Cut Express.

i'm having the same problem. after upgraded to ios 6.1.3 from ios 5.1.3. i cant activate my iphone.
neither using wifi nor itunes. it cant be activated after the language selection and region selection. it appear to have text "your iphone could not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable. try reconnecting your iphone to itunes to activate it, or try again in a few minutes." "if problem persists, contact apple support at apple.com/support." what else i can do?whats wrong with the activation server?? please, urgent. need to turn on my phone line immediately !

Apple stopped signing iOS 6. Though speaking now, I don't know if they stopped signing every iPhone..

Can't load iTunes and Apps in my iPhone after upgrading to OS5.

So, I updated my iPhone late last night to the new IOS5. It downloaded everything and went through all the permutations my iPhone went through with each OS upgrade.
But after the update and sync were complete, I no longer have any Apps on the phone nor any music.
On my iTunes page, I still have about 1.42GB of music (though I had over 3.5GB on my iPhone), but I'm reluctant to sync it up with the iPhone in case that completely wipes out the rest of my library, which I hope is still sitting somewhere in the ether.
Separately, my Apps appear on iTunes. I then clicked on "Sync Apps" and clicked each item. I hit "Apply" and then it goes into sync mode. After a minute, the sync is completely and none of the Apps are moved back onto my iPhone. Very confusing. Anyone else having these problems?
My phone is 3GS.

Not sure what you mean. iTunes is for the computer.

Problems syncing with iTunes after upgrading to OS5

After upgrading my iPod 3G software to OS5, when I plug my iPod into my Mac (OS10.6.8), iTunes (v10.5) will freeze for several minutes before it can be used again. When I sync my iPod, iTunes will sync all my video podcasts to the iPod, even the ones that were already there, each and every time. I've tried resetting my iPod, but that hasn't worked. Wondering if other people have experienced the same problems and if anything has worked?

Birthdays not syncing in iPhone after IOS 4.3 update

I have tried numerous approaches to fix this problem without any resolution. I searched the discussion for answers without any success. So, I am posting this plea in hopes that some one will help. I keep my contacts on my iMac in address book. Also on my iMac, iCal subscribes to birthdays. I sync all this info on my iPhone via iTunes. I have never had a problem before ... Until now. After updating iTunes and iOS 4.3 (I always keep my software updated), I noticed my calendar on my iPhone did not display birthdays. I re-synced. I replaced the calendar on the iPhone. I replaced the contacts and calendar on my iPhone. Everything looks like it should show birthdays on my iPhone's calendar (birthdays checked, etc.), but it doesn't. The calendar on my iPad shows birthdays on the calendar after syncing. Someone please help.

I was having the same problem as I seem to sync in the same way as you. I thought I'd already done it, but I basically changed the date of one birthday in my contacts, checked the calendar and they'd all re-appeared. Problem solved! Thanks
